Got the login information for Guns and Ammo but nothing around handguns. The developer response to most questions seems to be to write to customer support. Well, if most people have to do that, the devs are doing a pretty bad job. That and you don’t get to see how awful the app experience is till you pay and get sent a link in your email. A link that doesn’t always work and needs multiple attempts. Finally, you don’t get access to older issues. I subscribed in the first week of December and have access to only the Jan issue. I can already guess what the crappy developer response is going to be. Stay away from this garbage. ### 1/5 — GARBAGE stay away *2020-11-29, version 2.0.8* Nothing but trash like Obama and Biden. Garbage app wont connect to server, and screen display will not flip on iPad when trying to sign. Tried to use browser instead but need account# from the mail hard copy. I suspect this publication is owned by Obama and team. Who does your programming, grammar school dropouts? ### 1/5 — Great idea, poor execution. *2020-05-03, version 2.0.8* First, I love the content the Outdoor Sportsman group puts out, I have been an avid read for years. However, why on earth would you create an app for each of your publications instead of making the “Outdoors Sportsman” app which contains all of said publications under one roof? Now I need to have several apps instead of one, and your missing out on bonus subscriptions due to lack of exposure, I didn’t know you had a precision magazine until searching for it. Secondly, the app is not very well built; grey bars on the top and bottom to cover up that the pages haven’t been scaled to the device, limited account features (what if I want to renew, or cancel, or purchase a new subscription?), the page is rendered as it is called, so I have to wait between flipping pages, adding hyperlinks to some of the adverts could open up a new revenue stream as well as make it easier if I saw something I’d like to purchase, possibly some sort of forum feature where subscribers could converse. At the end of the day it’s a free app that allows you to look at your copy online, a wonderful idea but it could be much more than just that. I’ll keep reading the paper copies for now. ### 1/5 — Worst app *2020-04-29, version 2.0.8* Tried to down load this for my 8 year old dad, and you can’t get anything to work on this app! Navigation is very awkward. Please figure a different way to get to the menus. Currently any time the screen is touched briefly the screen moved down making reading difficult and shows the menu. Maybe consider a longer press or maybe some sort of downward motion to access the menus. Also, and this is a big one...PLEASE figure a way to have the app RESUME where I left off reading instead of just starting at the cover screen. Turns out you have to wait 7-10 business days before they even see your order. Customer service said I then have to call back after 7 to 10 business days and inquire about how to log on digitally. You think they could get someone to write a quality app to simply read a digital magazine. I've seen the other reviews with the company stating they'll contact you in 24 hours. Waste of 13.99 ### 1/5 — App crashes on opening, every time *2018-06-06, version 2.0.2* I paid for a digital subscription so I could read it on my iPad Pro. The app crashes every time I try to open it. Just black screen and minimize, every time. The app works on my iPhone X but, it doesn’t make full use of the screen, it’s windowed and doesn’t do landscape. I can zoom to 1/8 screen or less to read, but that is just a few words at at time. If they offer a digital subscription and make an app to view and download it they should support the app! This is mandatory! This app needs support. As an iPhone or iPad app it is useless to me, but they got my money and lost a subscriber. ### 1/5 — Not working terrible support. I recommend dead tree *2018-04-22, version 2.0.2* This has some of the worst digital access tech possible. Best solution is Texture, Readly or the dead tree version. The support is unresponsive therefore ineffective and useless. Guns & Ammo should shop elsewhere for a digital solution. I’ve been reading Guns and Ammo magazine for more years and I can even think and every issue you have big articles on silencers big articles on handguns that hold multiple over 10 rounds. Well I’m in California. We can’t have more than 10 rounds and we can’t have a silences magazine all over the world most of what I see written in your magazine does not pertain anything in California you’ve got gun writers riding articles on their trip. There are better gun magazines out there that you do NOT have to go through this crap every time!!!!!!! ### 1/5 — Terrible Account Creation Process - Now Showing I’m Not Subscribed *2021-02-03, version 3.0* All, I subscribe to many print and digital magazines and I have never had soooo much trouble getting an account created and even being able to login as Guns and Ammos app. The Create Account option locked up. At that point, I wasn’t for sure if it got created. Tried to login, but the app said I didn’t exist. Went to create the account again, but the app said I was logged in (how is that possible since I “didn’t exist”?). Clicked logout and attempted to create the account again. This time, I got 3 different confirm emails. Clicked the first one and I was informed that I had already used this code (impossible since that was the first time I opened the email). Click the second one and then was informed that I was confirmed. Logged in again and I don’t see my issues. Everything is in preview. Found the section where it said I needed to pay $5.99 for the issue. Clicked Restore Purchases and nothing. Still can’t determine if I’m even logged in. I give up. Not worth the effort. I’ll just stick with the printed version. App developers need to take some lessons from the other digital media companies that actually know how to design. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Guns and Ammo *2023-08-01, version 3.3* Can’t find a better source for technical information on all the new comers and old firearms anywhere. All the articles are written by Experts in their field. Whether it’s Revolver’s, handguns, even new carbines that are popular, along with bolt action precision shooters.
