I have a custom rifle that fires .348 Winchester Center Fire cartridges. There is no option to select or add that. I hope the developer updates the app to allow that or include the .348 WCF cartridge. Otherwise, the app is great. I’d like to see a field added for the current market value too. ### 4/5 — Great App-A Few Issues *2025-07-15* Really love this app and its capabilities. It is a little buggy sometimes when adding items. It will occasionally glitch part way through adding something and kick you back. I love that we can add pics and documents (I.e., receipts, tax stamps, etc.), but I wish we could bulk add pics and I wish there were more than 3 slots. 6 would be better. The ability to store information is great. There are a few features I would like to see in updates. 1. The pictures of long rifles and shotguns are cut off when looking through the list of firearms. 2. The purpose of keeping track of firearms has many advantages, one of which is a tally of your total cost to replace your collection in case of a fire or “boating accident”. I think it would be advantageous to have an ever updating calculation of total cost. How much you paid for your collection of firearms, accessories and magazines. ### 5/5 — 10/17 update *2024-10-17, version 2.0.21* With the last update this app is what I was looking for. Your records share between computer and app and you can link data and inventory to specific guns. Takes awhile to load info, as I have a lot of guns, but well worth it. I have an iPad and zagg keyboard and screen won’t rotate which means I have to take iPad out of keyboard, inconvenient but not awful. Prefer this method to paper copies as it is always available. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Privacy joke…this app glows (not a typo) *2024-08-17, version 1.9.3* The Apple App Store entry says it does not collect information but clearly that is not true. Using Apple’s built-in app privacy report you can see it’s storing all of your information including photos to firebaseio.com. So this app is collecting a lot of sensitive data but the App Store entry misrepresents this by saying it doesn’t collect any information. It literally collects every single piece of data you put into it and puts that in the cloud. That information does not merely stay on your device. I used the Stream app to man in the middle of the traffic and I can see the websocket traffic. The data is not encrypted at rest because the responses contains your information in cleartext including the serial number of your firearm. All it would take is a request from some three letter agency and this app developer would have to turn over all that information. I recommend you find an app that does not store your information in the cloud but keeps it on device. ### 1/5 — No response from Dev.. *2024-04-01* At first glance this app looks cool. Using the demo version you can basically add your guns but can’t do anything else.. You are forced to buy to be able to see if the app really does. It was a huge let down. Very limiting. I sent an email to the developers a week ago and still have not received a response. Stay away from this app there are MUCH BETTER options out there. The other app I ended up going with has a great team that responded to my questions within 12 hours and the app is customizable. Stay far away from this one, it’s a ripoff. **Developer response:** We have over 20K users that have no issues with the app. Try to have a nice day! ### 1/5 — Won’t work *2023-12-16* This app was great. Until it wasn’t. Now it won’t load. Spinning wheel. I reached out to customer service a month ago and never received a reply. Skip it and use a different app. UPDATE- nice response from the developer. Real people skills. Funny that I DID reach out to your customer service “when I really had an issue”. And it took 6 weeks to get a response. In which I provided them photos and videos and they said well we’ve never seen that before. But, again, thanks for the snarky response. Yet another reason people should avoid your app. 🤣🤣🤣 **Developer response:** Sounds like you might be using an earlier version of the mobile app. Try updating or please contact our support team at support@guntrack.app or call us at 480-582-1642. ### 1/5 — App is a scam *2022-04-25, version 1.9.3* I downloaded the app before, and left a one star review because it’s a subscription based app, and they don’t tell you that in the description. The app developer responded and said “That’s not true, it’s a one time $9.99 charge” I tried downloading it again, it still won’t let me log in. I go to their website, and what do you know, it won’t let me use my free trial period until I select a subscription and enter my billing info. I took screenshots and reported the app as a scam. ### 1/5 — Privacy takes a back seat *2021-08-31, version 1.9.3* Users are forced to sign up first before they can read the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. ### 1/5 — No support or updates *2019-10-19, version 1.6.4* I thought this gun log was the best when I reviewed about six different gun apps. Now that I have used it I wish I hadn’t purchased it. Sometimes it runs very slow and had “loading...” on the screen for about 3 minutes. Some other annoying aspects are that it is not efficient and could have been designed much better. Did not allow me to select a type of ammo I have, .270 win. I tried to contact the developer and no reply. ### 1/5 — App *2019-05-17, version 1.6.4* It’s trash got all my guns on the app,now it want open the app is a joke don’t try and waste your time with it ### 2/5 — Mobile app quirky *2024-03-17* Started out good after purchase but just won’t record events completely later on. After extensive logging of inventory it is now all messed up. Shooting events sometimes show and sometimes don’t. Same thing for cleanings. Accessories show linked on desktop but not on mobile app. Good idea and much needed if it would just work. ### 2/5 — Glitchy. Hasn't been Updated in 3 years. Secure?! *2024-01-19, version 1.9.3* No real information on the free vs the paid version of the app till you buy it. Very glitchy especially as you add information. Doesn't seem to be updated regularly (last one is 3yrs ago) so I question the "security of the app" ### 2/5 — Decent concept, poor execution *2024-01-07* They get you in the door with the 9.99 app, but what you don’t realize, until you dig in, is that to get full functionality, you have to have the desktop version. The app does not offer any sort of export features to excel, or the ability to share information across platforms. Also, the image quality is very poor when it’s loaded into the app. You can barely make out markings on the weapons. I’ll just go with a spreadsheet. **Developer response:** This review is not true but check out the competitor "MY ARMORY" It's extremely interesting who owns the company and where they are located. We are located in Arizona and you can find the owner easily. There are no other apps that even approach the depth of understanding of the needs and wants for firearm owner record keeping. It’s getting better and better, essentially has everything you need to Keep track of your inventory and what the true value is of your firearm investment. The app I was using was no longer being supported and I woke up one day, after an IOS update and it took a dump. I was lucky to have the data still on my ipad because my ipad is a little older and doesn’t support the current IOS update. I found Gun Track and started entering data. After a few entries, I called the number in the app to ask some questions (before I started inputting 100’s of entries), and Glenn answered the phone (same name as me, lol). We talked for over a half an hour about the app, what it can currently do, what updates they are working on, what updates they want to add as well as the firearms industry and a bunch of other stuff. I felt like I had known him my whole life, lol. I love the format of this app and it currently does a lot of things that I really like, most of which are better than the app I was using. As they continue to upgrade, update and perfect the things that they want to do with this app, it will be even more amazing. I honestly felt guilty that Glenn spent so much time talking to me about a product that is free for me to use. What an amazing experience. I started the massive task of data entry as soon as I hung up with him. I hope to be done in about a month. 🤦🏻‍♂️ **Developer response:** Yes Sir! It also keeps track of the total value in the event something should happen. ### 5/5 — Great Gun Tracking App *2025-08-19* The app is great at tracking my firearms, ammo, and more. I finally decided to start tracking my firearms’s history and I could not be happier with GUNTRACK. Not only can I track my firearms but also my ammo count and whatever maintenance I make to them. It is 100% free on the mobile version but there is a computer version that you can pay for if you like. I say download the mobile version and then get the paid version if you think you need it. ### 5/5 — Great Free App for Tracking Firearms *2024-11-24* I was tracking my ammo and firearms inventory on my phone on the IOS notes app. I was even told that some ppl were using a notepad or keeping paper copies of their firearms purchases. I found this app and it is really good and makes it easy to track everything on it. Also the owner and developer of the app and is a proud American with severing his country and being a 2nd amendment supporter. There is another app that is similar but you have to pay to get the same features that this app offers for free.
