## What is Gut Microbes Battle?

The microbes in our gut are both our helpers and possible enemies.

In this game you get the idea about this important and complicated microbiome by playing an attractive game in 3D virtual reality.

This is a kind of a stealth game. You are represented in this 3D world as an avatar finding yourself in the cross section of the gut with mouth somewhere above you (not visible). So the food transport occurs from top to bottom and you soon encounter e.g. a cucumber that lands on your level and small bears (=healthy food particles) start to march out of it to the gut wall having for their goal the factory which denotes the metabolism and biosynthesis. There they enable the creation of the elephants - macrophages - which jump towards you and circle around you in order to protect you. You have also another way of getting your protection. If you bump into the good food that has descended, bunnies come out of it. They stand for antibodies killing the evil antigens just like the macrophages also kill the antigens. However when you bump into bad food the antigens (small white combatants) emerge and start to shoot around. The antigens come also out of the harmful food or bacteria you swallowed - denoted here by the battle bus. There is also a capsule landing and out of it come the strange looking antibiotics with three legs. They also stand on your side, but beware of the toxins - robots - which after seeing you they run after you and shoot deadly shots at you.
If you know something (try my BioanimComplete to increase the knowledge) about biology, you can easily fill your health back to 100% by bumping into the correct quiz object. There are alwqays 3 quiz objects in a row and if you walk or run into one, all three diasappear, but in case you hit the correct object, your health reaches the maximal level and on your back a yellow skateboard appears. If you hit a wrong object, you lose 5 points of your health. Correct objects are those that are meaningfully related to health or healthy digestion or cellular digestion.

i honestly have no idea what the objective of this game is, i decided to play it at 2 in the morning, horrible decision on my part

i genuinely might have nightmares about this ios game in the future. no “horror” app on here can ever match the feeling of a game made 10 years ago that isn’t meant to be scary but still is extremely scary nonetheless. a deep sense of dread is placed in my body every time i decide to open it up.

### 1/5 — This game blows

*2025-12-02*

So I was bored one day and I decided it would be a fun idea to go on the app store and get some fun educational games that help me study for my biology quiz coming up soon. Naturally, I saw a game called Gut Microbes Battle and thought this would be great to help me study! Turns out I was Terribly Wrong. This game is HORRIBLE. Do not download it even if you are being held at gunpoint. I died every single minute and I learned absolutely NOTHING. The title makes it seem like it's educational but it is anything but that. This game would be rated a one star by a newborn. Whoever made this game needs to see a therapist. Please never make a game again. I could make a better game on Roblox studio with free models in 10 minutes k thanks bye

### 2/5 — bad

*2025-12-02*

I really wanted to like this game. A microbe-killing adventure sounded fun, unique, and even a little educational. Unfortunately, almost everything about the execution held it back, and after a couple of hours of trying to push through, I had to admit defeat. This game just… isn’t good.

Movement Is Practically Broken
The very first problem hits you the moment you try to walk. The controls feel like you’re steering a refrigerator across an ice rink. Every step is stiff, delayed, or overly sensitive in all the wrong ways. Sometimes I’d try to turn a corner and my character would glide past it like I was driving a hovercraft. Other times I’d get stuck on the simplest pieces of the environment—tiny rocks, puddles, or completely invisible geometry. Navigating the world shouldn’t feel like a boss fight, but here it does.

Combat Is Barely Functional
You’d think a game centered on killing microbes would at least nail the combat, but no. Attacks don’t land where they should, hit detection is inconsistent, and enemy behavior is unpredictable in a frustrating—not challenging—way. Microbes will teleport around, clip through walls, or swarm you faster than you can react because movement is already a mess. Instead of feeling satisfying, every encounter feels like a chore.

Environments Are Bland and Repetitive
For a game set inside a microscopic world, there was so much potential for creativity, but everything looks washed out and copy-pasted. Whole areas feel identical, making it extremely easy to get lost… not that exploring is enjoyable when walking itself is a struggle.

Poor Feedback and No Sense of Progress
The game barely communicates anything to the player. Half the time I didn’t know if I was damaging an enemy or just swinging at air. Leveling up feels meaningless because upgrades don’t noticeably change gameplay. Without any real sense of progress or reward, it’s hard to stay motivated.

Overall
This game had an interesting premise, but it’s buried under clunky controls, frustrating navigation, shallow combat, and an uninteresting world. After fighting more with the movement system than with the microbes themselves, I couldn’t give it more than a 2/5. With serious fixes, it could be good someday, but right now it feels like an unfinished prototype that somehow made it to release.

### 5/5 — 10/10

Well... this is amazing. This game has graphics better than 4K, controls that blow all other controls out the window and the models are gorgeous. That’s all I have to say.So good it made me horny.

### 1/5 — Am I high?

*2018-09-26*

Apparently this game is supposed to teach you about the human body, but in my ten minutes of playing I found it was anything but educational. I found this game when I decided to just search for "bad games" on the app store, and while this was only selected because of the word "bad" in the title, I was not disappointed.

You play as a microscopic human being running around in a world full of weird, huge (compared to your character model) monsters meant to resemble microbes, as well as what seem to be Combine soldiers from a Half Life game. I was able to figure out how to move my character, but I couldn't survive for more than a couple minutes at a time (much less figure out any objectives) because it seems that literally everything wants the player dead. If there are good mobs in the game, then they're either broken or straight up don't spawn.
As for the quiz aspect advertised, I never found any questions in the game, much less any indication that they're programmed in.
While I'm not a game developer, I'll still make a suggestion: remove any attempts at edutainment and rebrand the game as "Acid Trip Simulator." If you do that, you won't even have to change out the models.
