## What is GutSense?

Snap your plate. GutSense estimates the calories and macros — then flags the
ingredients that keep showing up before your symptoms. One photo, both answers.
Most calorie apps count what you ate. Most gut apps track how you felt.
GutSense is the one that connects them.

CALORIES THAT DON'T OVERCLAIM
Every number is an estimate and says so. When only some of a day's meals have
numbers, GutSense says "at least" rather than pretending it knows the rest.
Correct any figure and it stops calling it an estimate — they're your numbers.

SET A RANGE, NOT A TARGET
An optional daily calorie range, because a single number implies a precision
photo estimates don't have. Work one out on your phone from your own details —
those answers never leave your device.

FIND WHAT SETS YOU OFF
GutSense watches what you ate before each symptom and surfaces ingredients that
show up more often than chance would predict — including FODMAP groups like
fructans and lactose, and the additives labels hide: FD&C dyes, MSG, sulfites,
nitrites.

FLAG YOUR OWN ALLERGENS
Tell GutSense what you react to and it highlights those ingredients everywhere
they appear — including the non-obvious names (casein, semolina, tahini).

• Photo, barcode, label scan or search — every way of logging a meal now fills in calories and macros where they're known, and lets you type them in where they aren't.
• A calorie trend on Insights, with an optional daily range. A range, not a target: estimates are approximate, so no day is a pass or a fail.
• Insights is now free for your last 7 days, calorie trend included.
• A proper first run that explains what GutSense needs before it can find patterns.

Fixes: barcode products that had no nutrition now retry for it, missing numbers can be added by hand, and the food-vs-drink icon can be corrected when we guess wrong.
