The app was great and easy to use before because all my servers had names. Now I have to look up the freaking IP address to find the server I need because they all are labeled “MobileServerLite”. This is a real pain! Please put the server names back or give us an app that’s designed for multiple servers. ### 3/5 — Update last week wiped out all devices *2024-09-22, version 3.3.0* Apparently the update pushed out last week wiped out all devices and we have to re-add everything. I am a Geovision installer and have many clients who use this app, so I’ve been dealing with re-adding all of their camera systems for the past couple days. Very frustrating! If it works, which is very rarely- it takes forever and creates a ton of extra work to track something down. It either takes too long, shows a still image instead of live, or crashes completely. This is since a recent update. GV-VMS 17.4.3 with 39 cameras. Was fine before the update. ### 2/5 — App Crash *2023-03-08, version 3.0.0* I have been a GV installer for years. Since the last update the app crashes more now after about 30 seconds. I can’t figure out why. I have asked my customers and they are also having the same issues. It did help to turn off the camera name and channel but it will still crash about 30-45 seconds, sometimes it will take longer but ultimately it will happen. I have mostly PC based nvr’s with a few stand alone snvr’s and it doesn’t matter. Server software is the latest, camera firmware is the latest, series is mainly TDR, TBL, ADR, ABL. No NVR server issues just this app issue. iPhone series 11-14 and some android. ### 1/5 — Geovision 3.0 *2023-02-09, version 3.0.0* This app is in need of attention it crashes or the cameras just set an spin. When you click a pic to enlarge it an then hit the back button to go back to live view it crashes or just sits an spins on the live page. All my devices are up to date every thing worked great in version 2.9 but when i updated to 3.0 the problems started including in there new ez access its the same it crashes. How can i get the old version back it works more than i can say about the new 3.0 junk. When is the update for this app coming out. Was fine before the update. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Decent Hardware, Disappointing App *2026-08-17, version 3.7.0* GeoVision, please—for the love of everything—fix this app. Take some notes from Hikvision’s Hik-Connect app. Everything on Hik-Connect loads quickly and works reliably, and I rarely had any issues with it. I’ve only had my new GeoVision system for a few days, and I already miss the Hikvision system at my old retail location. I’m disappointed that Hikvision equipment is restricted in the U.S., because that is the only reason I switched brands. The GeoVision hardware may be great, but the mobile app experience needs major improvement, especially loading speed, reliability, and constantly having to bind the device again.” ### 1/5 — why *2025-08-15, version 3.4.1* play-back doesn’t work anymore, my app freezing wheel spinning very disappointing ### 1/5 — Been using gv-eye for years & it crashes all the time. *2025-01-26, version 3.4.0* This app is okay. You get a live view of your camera and some recording, but it crashes all the time. The second you try to do something the app crashed and you have to force close to get it back up. If you want to view a recording, you can and it takes timeeee, just do not click on more than 3 videos or it crashes. Also the playback is horrible on it. You have to select individual files by date and time, max 5 files and open it up. You cannot simply scroll through the actual video feed. You want to view multiple cameras at once, it works for a few minutes, but then crashes. It’s like the app works to show the feed but once you do too many things, it crashes. The app is very unstable and I’m moving my customers to UNV for the easier functionality on their phones. I am moving my customers away from geovision because of the functionality of vms and app. ### 1/5 — Was Solid as a Rock. *2025-01-06, version 3.4.0* You have the Web Port and Port default settings swapped! Probably a conflict in data entry authentication and/or wrong data fill from form variable? I cannot get to my device anymore to select cameras. ### 1/5 — Such a poor support *2024-09-21, version 3.3.0* Another update: Probably the worse app ever. After the latest update, it wiped out ALL of the configuration and camera systems setup. Update: These guys are extremely unprofessional. They all of sudden stopped support of older versions. How unprofessional Have been using GV since 2005 and it is upsetting that their support is so horrible and worse yet, attitude is, well I guess it doesn’t work. So unprofessional and arrogant. Good software and cams but it is time to move onto a better company. Their support team’s attitude along with lack of knowledge is just unbearable ### 1/5 — Gv-eye app playback error after update 3.2.0 *2024-09-08, version 3.2.0* After I downloaded to my iPhone the update 3.2.0 for the app Gv-Eye. Playback option was stopped working. Live video works but the recording can no longer be viewed. Before the updates everything worked fine. Probably the geovision system is already outdated. What should take a couple minutes to accomplish ends up taking a half hour with multiple app restarts. ### 1/5 — Crash and loading issues *2023-07-07, version 3.0.2* Have 32 cameras on a nvr. This is an iOS remote login to view live views. Some times it takes 20/30 seconds to load a single camera. Other times it loads all super fast. Other times it won’t load at all no matter how long you wait. If you try and click on the mic or speaker the app crashes and you have to start all over again. I don’t know why systems like this have such an issue with iOS all the time. It also closes out a lot but overall great app. ### 5/5 — Finally a fixed to the GUI lagging v3.0.0 *2022-12-19, version 3.0.0* After several seemingly bad iOS version updates and constant communication and video evidence sent to geovision I am happy to report that version 3.0.0. fixes the GUI lag and overall slowness of the app and the app is now acting great like it was three or four versions ago. Here’s hoping it stays that way. ### 5/5 — All video black on iOS 16.1 *FULLY WORKING NOW* *2022-10-29, version 2.9.2* Recent iOS upgrade caused black screen for video on all channels on GV-Eye 2.9.1. It was working fine until upgraded to iOS 16.1. UPDATE: Geovision came through and fixed issues with V2.9.2 software update.
