Now you can tell Gym Coach the weight you want to lift, and Gym Coach figures out the weights you need to put on the barbell based on what weights are available at your gym. I love this app and use it constantly at the gym. It saves me from having to do mental calculations for all the different weights I need to rack for each of my lifts. I also love that I can have multiple gyms set up so I can customize it to my home gym too.

This would be a 5 star review except the app looks like it is an iOS 4 app and has crashed on me a couple of times.  Unlike other apps I have tried, this app lets me use all my weights: 1.25, 2.5, 5, 6, 10, 25, 50, and 75. It is also smart enough to use my spinlock collars to achieve specific weights by suggesting, for example, that I use five collars on each side to add a pound. I wish it would let me label collars: I have black spinlock collars that weigh less than my chrome finished collars.  It tells me which collars to use by weight but it's hard to tell from memory if it is telling me to use the light collars or the slightly heavier collars.

It displays my 1.25 lb weights as 1.2 lb weights so I don't know if it is really doing the math right but truncating the value just in the display.

I'm doing the MadCow 5x5 program which has me using a lot of very specific barbell loading. For example, 248 pounds. This app saves me a lot of time and I know instantly that I need two 45's, one 10 and one 1.25 plates on each side. Simple and effective!
