### 4/5 — Gym Genius

*2021-11-15, version 1.1.1*

Excellent app, but I wish they have a web version as well.

### 4/5 — Best weight training app

*2021-10-21, version 1.1.1*

Great app, best i’ve used. Only reason it’s not 5* is because there’s a few things that could be slightly improved on.

### 4/5 — Great app…

*2021-08-09, version 1.1.1*

Best app out there except I can’t enter my email anywhere to back up my data. Any help would make this 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Awesome Gym App!

*2021-01-14, version 1.1.1*

The only thing I wish I would do is I wish I could track my distance cardio in Meters. Also let me track Super Set more effectively! An app that I know is on Android has like a circle symbol you can press and it’ll let you rotate between the set Super Set workouts.

### 5/5 — Please Update!

*2020-12-08, version 1.1.1*

Wonderful app that I’ve been using for years. App no longer works with latest iOS update. Please update if possible!

### 3/5 — App crash

*2020-11-23, version 1.1.1*

App is crashing with recent update for iPhones

### 3/5 — Easy to use, zero clarity/support to back up logs

*2020-11-16*

Have been using for years. However, between the settings and the developer, there is ZERO instructions on how to sync your data to a profile or export to a cloud or something. I spent an hour googling and trying to contact the developer but the link is just a one page ad to download the app via the AppStore. I tried to export/back up data but it says “no email configured” yet there are ZERO options to do so. So confusing as I could have sworn I’m the early versions it was simple to export/import your logs AND EVEN gym schedules/workout routines. I started using this app in conjunction to Body Spartan. Body Spartan showed how to import their program to this app but can’t find those instructions as Body Spartan has come out with their junk app.

### 5/5 — Great all around flexible exercise app

*2020-02-14, version 1.1.1*

Great all around flexible exercise app.

### 5/5 — iwatch PLEASE!

*2020-02-13, version 1.1.1*

❗️PLEASE make available on iwatch PLEASE❗️

### 5/5 — Great app! Use it religiously at the gym.

*2019-11-21, version 1.1.1*

Love the app but really needs to be updated in terms of resolution to matching latest iPhones. I have an XR and this app looks like it’s designed for the 5s. Function wise I still love the app itself hence the 4 and not 5 stars

### 5/5 — Best Gym App

*2019-11-04, version 1.1.1*

This is the best gym app I’ve ever downloaded. The only thing that would make this app better is if you could make supersets.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-11-02, version 1.1.1*

Great fitness tracker really helps highly recommend it

### 5/5 — Over all good

*2019-10-09*

This app is great. I have had it for a few years now. It isn’t too complicated and has just about everything you need for a gym app. My only complaint is there isn’t a “share” feature. When I work out with a buddy it would be nice to share a workout plan so we could be on the same page instead of taking all that extra time to copy each others plan manually. Other then that I think it’s great and use it all the time.

### 5/5 — Any update

*2019-10-08, version 1.1.1*

Great app but any update on this? Hasn’t change in years

### 5/5 — Lost 65lbs using this app

*2019-09-26, version 1.1.1*

I have consistently been using this app for almost three years now. It’s the best app for weightlifting I’ve seen. I’ve lost over 65lbs. using it to track my workouts.

### 5/5 — Perfect!!!

*2019-08-28, version 1.1.1*

I’ve searched everywhere for an app that I could implement my own routine into. This gives me the ability to be versatile with my options that I choose to incorporate into my workouts, while keeping up with my progress. Not over complex, easy to jump in and out of between sets. I hope this app stays up and running forever! Love it!

### 5/5 — Just What I wanted

*2019-08-26*

I have been looking for a gym tracker app for a long time! I had used excel spreadsheets and a ton of other apps. Every app I found was just designed to track set workouts and routines that were programed in already. I couldnt customize workouts. I wanted to program my own routines and workouts in to an app so I could keep track of them in an organized place and access them quickly on the way to the gym. I wanted to track my weight and reps for exercises. I wanted to be able to look at my weight and reps from the last time I did the exercise so I could quickly set my weights up for that day and also track my strength progress. This app does all that and more. It even lets me temporarily modify workouts on the fly to work around a crowded gym or lack of equipment. Anything I ever found that had any features like this was either super expensive, or required a subscription.

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2019-07-01, version 1.1.1*

I use this app on a regular basis. Very easy setup. As an Army Officer, this allows me to prepare my workout routine for self and my soldiers. I’ve truly enjoyed this and will continue to use. You need to get on this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is no longer supported. Do not download. You will lose all of your logs.

*2025-05-31, version 1.1.1*

I have been using this app for at least 10 years since Jim buddy no longer was supported. I haven’t had any problems with it until lately. The app glitches out, and it will not open anymore. I tried restarting my phone, deleting and reloading the app, but nothing works. I reached out to The support address listed in the app, but it’s a dead end. This is a shame, because I used to really like the app and used it to track all my workouts.

### 1/5 — Stopped Working On Latest iOS Version

*2020-11-28, version 1.1.1*

I love this app, but it no longer runs with the latest iOS version. Please fix this so that I may change this to the 5-star it deserves.

### 1/5 — Not maintained

*2017-11-30, version 1.1.1*

UPDATE: this app hasn’t gotten a reasonable update in forever. They just added social sharing. Meanwhile it has bugs on my phone and the last update before social sharing was 1 year ago.

Look elsewhere. This isn’t maintained. Shame, it’s was my favorite.

I've tried all the gym apps for keeping track of your progress. This is by far the best one. It's the only one that convinced me to move from paper.

If you already know the routine you want to do and just need something to track your progress, look no further. This is the app you want.

### 1/5 — Am i missing something?

*2017-10-14, version 1.1.1*

But where is the place to create my own excercises... as in... if i want to call one... super banana curls etc... how do i do this?... I can create a workout but that about it... ta...

### 1/5 — Garbage.

*2016-04-09, version 1.1*

This app is horrendous. The designer tries to make it look sophisticated, yet the make it confusing by not outlining how to properly use the app. Lack of customization ability as well.

### 1/5 — Don't buy this!

*2015-08-27, version 1.1*

Utter rubbish. Impossible to figure out how to use. I bought it to keep s daily record of how many pistols and push ups I'm doing and it can't even do that.

Clicked the in app feedback link and it doesn't work.

Wasted my money.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2015-06-23, version 1.1*

The app itself has many useful features related to gym, however the app keeps crashing. I have only bought app not long ago so I thought i would give it a try in gym to observe practical side of the app. The app keeps crashing so what ever you have recorded through out your work out disappears and there is no option but to start all over. Mine crashed 50 minutes later in to the work out by then I lost track of how many reps/sets i completed, hence why i purchased the app. It kind of diminishes the entire purpose of the app.

I would recommend this app because you are able to use it in the gym with ease.

I would not recommend it because it keeps crashing.

### 1/5 — Incomplete, don't waste your time

*2014-01-27, version 1.0.6*

Nice looking and intuitive app, but is missing graphic representations or details for the exercises. (M I supposed to have an exercise library in my head??) therefore is useless, a complete waste of time an money.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2013-06-08, version 1.0.3*

You tryna build so muscle? This is not. Good app, and you shouldn't pay money for it. It doesn't let you put in your own workouts an instead gives you bad pre made workouts that wouldn't give a 13 year old Jewish boy gains. Thumbs DOWN!

### 2/5 — They actually charge for this?

*2016-08-02, version 1.1.1*

This should NOT be a paid for app. It doesnt allow for super sets and the timer is NOT automatic. Its basically just a way to track your workouts like an excel sheet. The interface is decent, but in order for me to want to continue using this, I feel they need to actually try this while working out. You cant copy workouts in order to make a new day easier to log. I think the positive reviews on here are from the developers friends. I am requesting a refund.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — They fixed it!

*2025-06-11*

I had been using this app for almost 10 years without problems. Two weeks ago the app started glitching on me and I lost all my data. I sent a note to Apple support and they must’ve looked into the problem and fixed it because everything is working fine now. This is an easy to use easily customizable workout tracker with lots of features. I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to nerd out on their workouts..

### 5/5 — Owner UFC Gym Lansdale PA

*2025-02-21, version 1.1.1*

I have been using this app for years. Replaced the LA Fitness log book I use to carry around the gym. I spread the word to everyone I can. I love this app. Never do a workout without it.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2024-12-11, version 1.1.1*

I have been using this app for so long now I can’t even keep track, it’s a perfect app. I can change my workouts. I can add new exercise exercises. It’s so easy to use. This is the only app I use

### 5/5 — 10 years

*2024-01-21, version 1.1.1*

I’ve been using this app for 10 years to track my workouts and I recommend it to everyone. Hands down the best exercise app I’ve ever tried simply due to the ability to customize anything.

### 5/5 — Long time companion

*2023-09-13*

I have been using this app for like 7 or 8 years now. It has been perfect to allow me to build various workout plans with my own custom exercises as well as tracking weights and sets and PRs. The BEST app I had found for this purpose. I also want to give a shoutout to the developer. This guy has consistently updated this app to ensure I can stull use it after all these years. My teenage son has just started working out with me and he loves it as well!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-04-21, version 1.1.1*

It took them 4 years and some change of asking but they finally wore me down and got this review, overall it’s a really solid app and is excellent for keep track of your exercises and PRs.

### 5/5 — Still Strong

*2022-04-01*

I have been using this app for 5 years and I have always been satisfied. I enjoy the simplicity of use and the given timer between sets. I am sure there are many things that could be added, but again, the simplicity keeps it functional and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Best Gym App

*2021-06-18*

Pros: It keeps track of sets and reps from your last session so you don’t have to remember. You’re not limited to pre-programmed exercises so you can name your own. And the timer buzzer is brief and doesn’t mess with your gym jams.

Cons: Sessions aren’t synch’d to my Apple watch and the timer only offers set increments of 30 seconds, 1 minute, 1 minute 30, etc., so it’d be nice to set your own rest time.

### 5/5 — 4 years into this app

*2021-04-06*

I have been consistently lifting using this app for approximately 4 years now. I have switched phones several times and had to restore from backups. I have never had any issue with any of the functions that have been built into the product it works superbly every time. That being said there are a few options that could use some tweaks or additions that would make this app unstoppable. First off the tweets, while the workout logging and tracking is excellent the input steps for weight or other vitals is a bit of a chore and could use some simplification. For additions integration with apple health for workout logging and Apple Watch support would be fantastic. Also and this one that I honestly was surprised wasn’t already available, daily and weekly volume totaling, so that accurate and simple training volume metrics could be easily recorded. Other than those few things and even without them this app is worth 2.99 any day of the week. You won’t regret the custom exercise builder or the copy function for previous workouts.

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-01-19, version 1.1.1*

Great app for my workouts. Use it all the time.
