## What is Gym Note Plus?

Your workout notes, turned into real training data.

Type your session the way you already do: "bench 225lbs - 8,8,6". Gym Note Plus reads it and builds a structured log with exercises, weights, sets and reps. No tapping through menus between sets. No scrolling through exercise lists.

2,366 lifters already log this way.

"I literally just use it like a notes app, and it automatically turns everything I log into actual data so I can see my progress."

WRITE IT YOUR WAY
- Type freeform gym notes in your own shorthand
- Any split, any routine, any exercise
- lbs and kg detected automatically
- Warm-up sets, drop sets, failure, AMRAP, supersets and giant sets
- Templates for the sessions you repeat

STILL USE A PAPER LOGBOOK?
Keep it. Take a photo of the page when you're done and the app converts your handwriting into a full workout log. Your gym notebook stays in your bag and your numbers end up on your phone.

"Love it, lets me use my logbook in the gym, once I'm done snap a photo and upload it to the app and I can see my stats"

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
- Graphs for estimated 1RM and volume
- Automatic PR tracking
- Last-session view, so you know exactly what to beat for progressive overload
- A workout journal that charts itself

BUILT FOR THE GYM FLOOR
- Offline-first: log with no signal and it syncs when you're back online
- Available in 13 languages

WHO IT'S FOR
Lifters who already write their workouts down, whether that's in a notes app, a lifting notebook or a training diary, and want the numbers without changing the habit. Gym Note Plus won't write your program or tell you what to train. It records what you did and shows you where it's going.

"This has definitely become a vital part of my workout routine."

GYM NOTE PLUS PRO
- Unlimited note translations (notes and photos turned into logs)
- Longer notes
- Full workout history
- Unlimited templates
- Data export

Free to start. No credit card required.

### 5/5 — Great app for folks who desire simplicity and flexibility in tracking

*2026-08-27*

My biggest problem with other training apps is the rigidity and clunkiness — swapping exercises, changing their order, creating supersets, or doing just about anything else requires a bunch of menu hopping and tapping.

Gym Note Plus eliminates all of that, and it works extremely well. The developer is also very responsive.

If you already have a training plan and want a tracking app that gets out of the way and just helps you view your progress, this is a great option.

**Developer response:** Hi Matthew,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review!

I’m really glad the core concept of Gym Note Plus is useful for you, I’ll endeavour to keep improving Gym Note Plus week by week!

### 5/5 — Great app for visualizing routines

### 5/5 — Actually useful

*2026-03-12*

Being able to log my workouts in my everyday slang doesn’t make it feel like such a tedious task. Also reached out to dev about possible updates and was very responsive. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2026-01-25*

This app is amazing. Being able to scribble stuff in notes and then copy and paste it here has been so helpful. It keeps track of my progress and keeps me honest. Best purchase I’ve made for fitness so far!

### 5/5 — Great app, eliminates clunkiness of Notes app

*2025-12-09*

I used to use the Notes app on my phone to track my workouts.

Would run into the issue of not being able to see my progress unless I used another app, making logging and tracking my progress clunky and time consuming. Every day I would overwrite previous info and lose whatever I put the day before.

This app eliminates that. With the easy Translate feature, I just copy and paste my messy notes and the app automatically converts them into trackable and readable data.

Now I can see the progression of weight and reps over time, in the easy to read format of the simple and functional interface.

This has definitely become a vital part of my workout routine.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.7 — 2026-10-01

Major:
• Import past workouts (Pro). Find it in Settings > Data & Sync. Add a note or a photo per workout, pick several notebook pages at once, and bring them all into History in one go.
• Import runs in the background: leave the screen or close the app, progress follows you around, and it picks up where it left off.
• A fresh new look: new typefaces across the whole app.
• Every exercise in a workout is now a card, in History, the post-workout summary and the translation result. Sets read like "80 kg × 8 reps".
• Beat last time? A green chip shows what improved ("+2.5 kg", "+3 reps", "faster") next to what you did before.
• The Exercises tab has a large new title, a "Recent" section with your last 5 exercises, and shows the muscles each exercise works.
• Body measurements. Log your weight and other measurements under More > Profile and watch them on a graph.
• Bodyweight exercises now count your body weight. Add weight to pull ups or dips in the Edit Workout screen and see it in your volume, PRs and Statistics.
• Templates now belong to a day of your split. Pick the day in the template editor and Workout To Beat will suggest that template on that day.
• The template picker on the Notes screen groups your templates by split day, with the rest under "Not linked".
• Settings has categories and a search bar so you can find any setting in seconds.
• Pick your equipment in Settings > Training and we suggest the exercises it unlocks.
• New Default weight unit setting in Settings > Training. Pick kg or lbs and any note that doesn't mention a unit is read that way. Leave it on Automatic and nothing changes.

Minor:
• Import: dates written in your note, or the day a photo was taken, are filled in for you. You can change or clear them on each card.
• Import: see how many of this month's translations an import will use before you start, and retry just the workouts that failed with one tap.
• Import: crop or paint out parts of a photo before importing, and get a warning when a card looks like more than one workout.
• Just upgraded to Pro? You can import your past workouts right from the welcome message.
• Templates named after a split day are linked to it automatically. Tap the day in the template editor to change or clear the link.
• Copying a past workout to a template picks the matching split day for you.
• Tap "Link to a day" under an unlinked template to jump straight to the split day picker.
• Workout To Beat keeps tracking your split correctly after you rename a day.
• Creating a workout split tells you straight away if you add the same day twice.
• PRs appear as a trophy chip on the exercise card. Tap it for the details.
• An empty exercise library now offers "Backfill exercises" to fill it with the standard exercises.
• The A-Z scrubber on the Exercises tab has been retired.
• Set your date of birth on your profile.
• The dashboard greets you by name.
• Large numbers now use the thousands separator of your app language.
• Notes can be up to 2000 characters on the free plan.
• The active workout follows where you are typing, not just the last line.
• The email verification banner is gone. You are only asked to verify when it matters.
• Settings > Preferences is now called Appearance.
• Russian added

### 1.6.6 — 2026-09-18

Major:
• Gym Note Plus now follows your phone's text size setting, so the whole app stays readable with larger text.
• Save your workouts to Apple Health, either during setup or under Settings > Apple Health.
• Your workout now shows on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island: session time, current exercise and rest timer.
• A pill above the tab bar keeps your timer and current exercise in view anywhere in the app. Tap it to get back to your note.
• New guided tours in History, Exercises, Statistics, Settings and when opening a workout.
• Tap "Prefill my exercises for me" in Exercises to add around 50 common gym exercises in one go, each tagged with the muscles it works.
• Tell us your gender during setup or in Account details and your muscle map shows a matching body.
• Redesigned in-app notifications. Swipe one away in any direction, or hold it to pause the countdown.

Minor:
• Picking an exercise in Notes and Templates is near instant, and it goes in where your cursor is instead of at the end.
• Exercises you have added but not logged yet now show up as note suggestions.
• The History tab inside an exercise uses the new workout cards and summary.
• "Use as New Note" starts the workout clock right away and keeps the original template.
• Setup screens now scroll on smaller phones instead of getting cut off at the bottom.

### 1.6.5 — 2026-09-14

Major:
• Home screen widgets: Training Summary, Calendar, Last week workouts, Streak and Rest. Long press your home screen, tap Add Widget and search for Gym Note Plus.
• Brand new History cards! Tap a workout to open a summary you can swipe through: exercises, photos and the workout's own stats.
• Bootup time from cold start optimised further

Minor:
• Jump from a workout's summary straight to that exercise's statistics.
• PR badges now show the record itself first, with its units.
• Switching between tabs is now instant, with no fade between pages.
• Fixed the dashboard heatmap and muscle distribution showing volume far too high for kg users.
• Fixed share cards showing volume and 1RM records in the wrong unit for kg users.
• Muscle distribution volume no longer counts warm-up sets, matching the heatmap.
• Fixed notification links to More opening the dashboard instead.
• Tapped Finish by mistake on your note? You now have a second to hit Cancel before the translation starts.

### 1.6.4 — 2026-09-09

Major:
• Workout timer in the note composer. It starts as you type, sits in the top bar, and tap it to pause or resume. Hold it to fix the duration or start time.
• Your workout's duration now saves with it and shows in History and on the workout screen.
• Share your progress as cards. Statistics, the exercise stats tab, the muscle map and the workout calendar all have a share button now, with a transparent option for putting them straight onto a story.
• Rebuilt workout calendar in History, with month, year and multi-year views.

Minor:
• Edit Workout lets you set or change a workout's duration and start time.
• The calendar shows your rest days and your week streak, and the streak now matches the Weekly Goal widget on your dashboard.
• New About page in More, with the story behind the app.

### 1.6.3 — 2026-09-05

Major:
• Add up to three photos to any workout, from the result screen or Edit Workout. Crop and rotate them, and see them in History.
• Finishing a workout now opens a celebration with share cards you can send to Instagram Stories, save, or share anywhere.
• Share any past workout from its details screen in History.
• Paint over or crop out other workouts on a notes photo before it's read, so only the one you want to log is present.

Minor:
• Photo changes on the Edit Workout screen are only kept when you tap Save.
• The suggestion text shown while typing a note now lines up with what you've typed instead of drifting further off on each line.
