### 2/5 — Probably switching to something else after many years

*2026-08-04, version 4.19*

Lately the app is not saving my workouts. I just looked and nothing from the last week and a half could be located in the app even after force quitting. My last weights weren’t saved. No activity recorded in the last week and a half. Going to my profile then workouts hasn’t been updated in like 7 years. Too bad, I thought it worked so well for so long and enjoyed being able to add my own routines. Not worth it if they won’t save though.

### 2/5 — Export and help don’t work

*2025-10-20, version 4.19*

I would give a higher rating and I have been using the app for years but bugs persist. Is anyone maintaining the app? Export doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t even give an error message.

### 3/5 — App stopped working

*2025-07-11, version 4.18*

The app won't let me modify anything, I can't login, no one replies to emails.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2024-10-13, version 4.15*

Sign in with Apple is not working, text not visible in some tabs, poor UX being a not native app

### 2/5 — inconsistent motion tracking

*2024-06-23, version 4.15*

This app is supposed to make my workouts more convenient, but it has the opposite effect. I am constantly interrupting my workout to fuss with my Apple Watch because it’s not tracking my reps. For example, I did 5 squats, but it only logged 3. Very annoying.

The app does not seem to give me rest time between reps, even though I have rest times set up in the workout.

There are a good selection of workouts in the library, but you have to sign up with another service in order to see a video of how to perform each exercise. Another inconvenience since there are dozens of variations of squats, for example, and it’s quite time consuming to find the one I want.

### 3/5 — cannot detect the heartbeat

*2024-04-29, version 4.15*

The Apple Watch cannot detect the heartbeat during exercise, and the phone cannot receive the calories burned during exercise.

### 2/5 — Is it over?

*2024-01-29*

Is this application is dead? Because if so, it’s very very sad, as it was my go to fitness tracker app. 😔

### 4/5 — Bugs with the new update.

*2024-01-24, version 4.14*

I LOVE app and use it every day. However since the newest update, the past 3 days have said that I have burned over 300,000 calories in my 40 minute workouts. Please fix this!!!!

### 3/5 — So-so

*2023-11-10, version 4.10*

It does some things very well. Amazingly accurate counting of reps…. But a couple of super annoying issues. It switches to the next set sometimes in what feels randomly. I would love to turn this off and rely on a tap from me but can’t seem to find a way to do this. Also, need the option when it does this to scroll back to the set I’m still on.

A little more work would make this app awesome. In the meantime, I’m still looking. Hope the developers will add a few features.

### 4/5 — Gute Tracking Funktion

*2023-09-03*

Bewegungserkennung klappt gut. Leider gibt es keine Analyse zum Körpertraining. Z.B. welche Muskelgruppen trainiert wurden.

### 2/5 — Potential is there but it’s too buggy

*2023-09-01*

I used it for more than a month but giving up today. Too many bugs. Last one that I discovered is that the watch app couldn’t sync the workout data with the phone for the last 9 days because data “is not formatted correctly”…

### 2/5 — Not working

*2023-08-31, version 4.10*

Is this app no longer supported? I can’t sign up. I would love to try this app out and am happy to update my review if I can actually get into the app.

### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2023-06-17, version 4.10*

Generally great, aside from the few weeks when I couldn’t even log in

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot log in

*2025-12-02, version 4.19*

As of today, I cannot even log in. Seems like the developer is not supporting the app anymore. I would give a higher rating and I have been using the app for years but bugs persist. Is anyone maintaining the app? Export doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t even give an error to message.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t log anything

*2024-12-27*

Your Apple Watch won’t count or log anything. I don’t have time to read manuals, it’s not a good app.

### 1/5 — Do you even lift? Do you even support?

*2024-11-13, version 4.15*

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front)
Watch app stopped working. Watch app won’t install anymore. Awful support offered no solution. Will NEVER recommend this app.

Details:
In the beginning, this app was great. It did what it advertised and was able to track my reps during workouts. It was able to save and sync routines flawlessly between iPhone and Apple Watch. It really was great.

Somehow after cancelling and then reinstating my premium membership the app stopped being able to install on the watch. Now there is no way to use the app on the watch. Only on the phone.

Based on the reviews I am not the only person to experience this. Somehow there is still no fix.

I submitted a ticket to support and they gave up without any attempt at troubleshooting steps.
Awful support. I have wasted months trying to salvage my experience with this app. I’m done with it.

Do better Gymatic.

### 1/5 — Las primeras versiones mejor

*2024-05-23, version 4.15*

Antes la versión free permitía seguir una rutina en el reloj. Demasiado caro para lo poco efectivo que es

### 1/5 — Too many false detections

*2024-05-14*

While interface on Apple Watch looks very nice, the app detects too many false excercises and reps. I was doing pull ups and for some reason it was detecting more reps than I did, but what is worse it was detecting new reps while I was resting. Discarding detected exercises every 10 sec very annoying and generally ruins the whole app usability.
When doing push ups it failed to detect more than 3-4 reps out of 10 reps set.
Overall brilliant idea but does not work.

### 1/5 — Watch app won’t work

*2024-02-23, version 4.15*

I was really intrigued with this app seeing that it can track reps and velocity through the app on the watch, but that never happened because the app won’t install on my watch. Gone through all troubleshooting and other apps work, this one won’t download.

### 1/5 — Unnecessarily complicated

*2024-02-09, version 4.15*

Not intuitive and really hard to sync with the Apple Watch

### 1/5 — Aktuell unbrauchbar

*2024-01-28*

App reported falsche kcal zu Apple Health. Seit letztem Update kaputt

### 1/5 — Can’t Upload A File That Doesn’t Exist

*2024-01-10, version 4.13*

Hello,

I keep running into this error on my Apple Watch when saving entries.

It says

“Can’t Upload A File That Doesn’t Exist”

It makes the watch app and phone app usable.

### 1/5 — Data cannot be read because it isn’t in the correct format

*2023-09-01, version 4.10*

Almost nothing is actually working in the app, I just get the message in the subject line. So I tried to log out, redownload, but now I still get that message and can’t even log in. Super frustrating. They need to have better support; trying to contact them is extremely difficult.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-10-20, version 4.19*

Easy to set up if you have a different exercise you can create your own name and set how many sets you do time of rest . Helps on what you did last time no ads pop up great. Love the app helps me no end recommend

### 5/5 — A Pioneer In Wearable Technology

*2025-08-26, version 4.19*

I got this App in 2017 (or was it 2016?) when it first came out. It was still in development and I agreed to try it out and share my information during. I loved the App then and anticipated its potential. No doubt, as the only App at the time able to utilize the Apple Watch and iPhone’s accelerometer and gyroscope to detect and evaluate motion during exercise, it was bound to go far…even integrated within the Apple Health System (hardwired into Watch and Phone).

Well, I stopped using my Apple Watch some time after and therefore didn’t use the Gymatic App. However, I got interested again in movement tracking recently due to my recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s. So, I picked up that old Watch and tried to download the App again into it. Sadly, although the Software is still compatible, the App won’t install. Not sure why. I have read plenty of reviews regarding this issue dating back at least a year. I suppose the Vimo guys are not in business anymore?

### 5/5 — Apple watch problems again

*2024-12-19, version 4.15*

The best exercise tracker. It automatically identifies your exercise in the gym and at home and count your reps and just keeps getting better and better.

### 5/5 — Love this App

*2024-03-26, version 4.15*

I love that it helps motivate you to achieve your goals and at a pace that works for you. I also love that you can accomplish this with other like minded people

### 5/5 — Great app for tracking your workouts

*2024-03-12, version 4.15*

I’ve been using Gymatic for years and it is the only app that I would recommend for tracking your weight workouts. It allows you to teach the app what exercise you are doing and even learns some on it’s own. Very happy with this app.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2023-12-05, version 4.12*

Wicked app. Been trying to find something to work with my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and count reps plus log all the info I need as well as tell me what exercise I’m on weight and sets etc. this does it all. Had to subscribe to pay monthly to get a trial or full package but then it works amazing. I’ll defo keep it running

### 5/5 — One of a kind

*2023-06-17*

Literally the only app that auto logs and learns motions.

### 5/5 — This is SO effective for me!

*2022-12-03, version 4.9*

Being able to use my Apple Watch and have it automatically recognize the exercises and count the reps is outstanding.

### 5/5 — Perfect for my needs

*2022-11-06*

I use this app with the Apple Watch and for strength training. I can program in workouts with timed rests which helps motivation to complete. The Watch app learns my movements. For most exercises I do it counts my reps automatically (I keep the watch on my wrist rather than move it to track legs for example where it can better track lower body). The app gives data on calories, heart rate, velocity, consistency etc for each exercise. There are guides to loads of types of exercise if you want to try something new. The app was exactly what I needed to motivate efficient work out sessions.

### 5/5 — Great app if it would stop crashing . Every time I use the app in free mode the app crashes!

*2022-06-14, version 4.9*

Please fix free mode
