### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-09-25, version 1.5.0*

We updated our air conditioner in our bedroom and living room with this thermostat app. It’s game changing, it notified me of a water leak in my living room and saved me $$$.

### 5/5 — Really Works Well!

*2023-08-31, version 1.4.2*

Controls and monitors over 5 units. It keeps us informed if there are any problems; which is great because we travel so frequently.

### 5/5 — Peace of mind

*2023-08-31, version 1.4.2*

Very simple to use and the water alert and system malfunction notifications gives us peace of mind when we are away. We also love that our installer is now tied into our equipments functions and alerted, if there is a system malfunction.

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2023-03-08, version 1.3.1*

We updated our apartment’s a/c equipment and now have complete remote access and 24 hour monitoring on our systems. The app is also very simple to use and understand , it’s been a real game changer is our home.

### 5/5 — Just added two more of these in both bedrooms

*2022-10-29, version 1.2.3*

I got one for the living room ACs in my apartment last year. They work beautifully and both are on the same thermostat. After the grueling summer had and my Con Ed bill hitting triple digits, we decided to add them to the bedrooms. Now I don’t need the fan coils on until bedtime. We also put the app on my son’s phone so now he can also control his room. How we lived w out something so easy and yet vital all these years is beyond me.

### 5/5 — Nice solution

*2022-10-24, version 1.2.3*

Upgraded our a/c units and now have full remote access control over our system. It’s a nice solution because there’s no wiring needed so our walls did not have to be touched. We also like the system monitoring and alert notifications if there is an issue.

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2022-10-11, version 1.2.3*

The app works great, I have 5 AC units in my apartment and this app controls all 5 of them. The WiFi upgrade was well worth it. (It’s also fun to show my friends that I can control my ac’s from my phone)

### 5/5 — Happy Wife

*2022-09-26, version 1.2.3*

The app has worked very well to control our new a/c units with their thermostats. I will say it’s very simple to use and understand, giving us full remote access and monitoring status of the units as well. My wife’s happy!

### 5/5 — Easy upgrade

*2022-09-13, version 1.2.3*

Upgraded my apartments a/c units with this system and it does the job well. The app gives us full remote control over 9 of our units as well as full service monitoring.

### 5/5 — A+

*2022-09-12, version 1.2.3*

Easy to use and understand. We had a wifi issue that spectrum tried to fix but could not. When we called habitats customer service they were extremely helpful and solved the solution quickly! The apps water leak sensor saved me a bill when one of our unit started to leak. Fully recommend this to my friends.

### 5/5 — Very simple to use!

*2022-09-09, version 1.2.3*

The app is very simple to use and understand. I can now adjust my units from anywhere with my phone or tablet. Another great thing is I get real time notifications if my units have a problem.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Undisclosed fee

*2025-09-23, version 1.7.3*

$12.99 a year to manage the thermostats I already own. No thank you! And that should be disclosed upfront… this is not a “free” app.

### 1/5 — Slow and expensive

*2024-08-27, version 1.6.0*

How dare these people charge $12 a year after you’ve already paid for your smart thermostat. And even after you pay the app is sluggish and every time you open it, takes up to 12 seconds to even know the status of the AC. Same when you try to operate it through Alexa / Google Home. Huge delay on every single command. Disgraceful that they would charge for a dysfunctional app like this.

### 1/5 — Error 6777001

*2023-08-08, version 1.4.2*

Cannot get into the app because it gives me a subscription error immediately on my iPhone 13.

### 1/5 — Requires extra hardware

*2022-08-07, version 1.2.3*

The app doesn't work without an additional wifi module physically installed in the base station. Given the system clearly works over bluetooth, I consider that limitation at best a poor design choice, more likely a cash grab. (Wifi modules are super cheap these days.)

### 1/5 — Awful product and App

*2022-08-06, version 1.2.3*

Neither the product or the app work and customer service is terrible

### 2/5 — No Good

*2026-06-15, version 1.8.0*

This is how we get tricked. We purchased a thermostat then was going to add home link so we could use our phones. But they don't tell you before you purchased the Home link or the thermostat. Is that you have to pay $12 a month at least to use the home link part outrageous . Good thing I downloaded the app before purchasing.

### 2/5 — Good but not great

*2023-10-02, version 1.5.0*

App latency is annoying but initializing time upon opening and setting changes

No support for Zigbee temperature sensors despite marketing literature touting this feature and calling it easy and app settings inferring this possible.

Built in temperature sensor is insufficient.

No performance history available through the app

ZERO documentation on the available setting options.

Habitat DOES NOT have an API available for owners who are programmers who would be able to ameliorate the shortcomings with a charged annual fee to boot. Weird flex.

### 3/5 — Works but bugs hold it back

*2026-01-28, version 1.8.0*

Just upgraded 3 Ice Air wall units to Habitat thermostats with WiFi.
The good: this app is elegant, intuitive and easy to use.
The bad: there’s a bug that does not allow you to schedule Saturday and Sunday on daily mode. Monday through Friday saves the temperature and time correctly but not on Sat / Sun.
Please fix this issue. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Works but very slow

*2025-10-20, version 1.8.0*

The app performs the desired functions but often takes 10-15 seconds to be ready (with 4 thermostats at my location) making it a poor remote. Not uncommon for you to find yourself logged out etc. subscription based is fine but would have expected a reasonable free initial period. Promised speed improvements have not appeared to date.

### 3/5 — Loads super slowly, but functional

*2023-02-25, version 1.3.1*

It works. I wish the app didn’t take so much longer to load than every other iPhone app. Seems like the developers made it deliberately slow just to have an animated logo that is totally unnecessary.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great

*2024-11-01, version 1.6.0*

I’m not big on reviews but honestly it’s one of the best things I've ever purchased for my home , it works great. I travel a lot because of my job and now l can control and monitor all of my apartments units when I'm away.
The system alert notifications are excellent and alerted me and my A/C service company when one of my A/C units malfunctioned.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and great monitoring

*2024-10-11, version 1.6.0*

We have their thermostats controlling 4 of our offices and the app gives us complete control and visibility over all the units. Big plus feature for us is the systems malfunction notifications and alerts that can be tied into our equipment service contractor.

### 5/5 — Simple and Smart

*2024-10-03, version 1.6.0*

Very straightforward and very simple to use , the best feature is the system malfunction alerts. We were alerted that one of our system’s unit had a water leak and it saved us thousands on a repair to our floors.

### 5/5 — Great Product

*2024-05-09, version 1.6.0*

This is one of the best smart automation products out there to control your HVAC appliances. I use Habitat with my ICE AIR PTACS to remotely control via an app.

The only issue is that their API is completely closed even though the underlying hardware is zigbee based so you have to use their which has an annual fee. It would be nice if they opened up their API to allow for customized automation such as proximity sensors.

### 5/5 — Happy With It

*2024-05-06, version 1.6.0*

My friend recommended this thermostat. Found out that it can be controlled with this app. Been really happy with it, nice that it is so responsive.

### 5/5 — Works Well

*2024-04-01, version 1.6.0*

I don’t usually write a review, but this system is pretty simple to understand and works well even if you’re not a big tech person. It’s very clear and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2024-03-28, version 1.6.0*

Got a habitat for my bedroom, works great and easy to use. It’s nice to pre chill my bedroom when coming home from work.

### 5/5 — 10/10 Rating!

*2024-03-24, version 1.6.0*

Amazing, easy to use software. Super easy interface that anyone can follow. HUGE step up from my Nest. Will never go back!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Clean and Simple

*2024-03-20, version 1.6.0*

Works well and is very easy to understand, it has a clean and simple functionality that is very straightforward. The app controls 4 units in our apartment and has made a big in our ability to save on electric cost.

### 5/5 — Great

*2023-09-27, version 1.5.0*

The app work great, glad I can control my air conditioners from my office. Would recommend to my friends.
