## What is HabitGrip?

HabitGrip helps you build habits that actually stick — without the stress of streaks that punish you for one missed day. It's a calm, local-first habit and task tracker: your data lives on your device, the app works fully offline, and there are no ads and no marketing trackers.

WHY HABITGRIP
• Local-first and private. Track everything offline. Your habits stay on your device unless you turn on sync.
• No guilt. Streaks are a quiet record of consistency, not a punishment. Vacation mode lets you pause without breaking them.
• Free to start. The full tracker is free for everyday use.

TRACK ANYTHING
• Yes/No habits (meditate, no smoking)
• Numeric habits with custom units and targets (drink 8 glasses of water, walk 10,000 steps)
• Timer habits for duration (study 30 minutes, exercise)
• Checklist habits for multi-step routines

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES
• Daily, specific weekdays, or "N times a week"
• Every N days, or alternating days
• Ordinal patterns like "the second Tuesday of the month"
HabitGrip handles the bookkeeping so you just show up.

UNDERSTAND YOUR PATTERNS
• Heatmaps, streaks, and momentum
• Monthly and day-of-week views
• Stats built for understanding, not shame

STAY ON TRACK
• Reminders at the times you choose
• Tags and multiple profiles (keep Personal, Work, and Fitness separate)
• A focused Today view

HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
• Keep your habits one glance from the home screen
• Today's habits, daily progress, streaks, a monthly heatmap, momentum, and more
• A quick-toggle widget to check off a habit without opening the app
• Three widgets are free; Pro unlocks all eight
• Home Screen widgets require iOS 17 or later

YOUR DATA, YOUR RULES
• Export everything to JSON — no lock-in
• Local backup and restore
• Import from other apps

PLANS
HabitGrip is free for up to 5 habits, 5 tasks, and 1 profile — and signing in for a free account adds an extra habit and task slot.
• Pro (one-time purchase): unlimited habits, tasks, and profiles, plus all eight home screen widgets.
• Ultra (subscription): everything in Pro, plus encrypted-in-transit cloud sync and automatic cloud backups across your devices.

SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
Ultra is an auto-renewing subscription offered weekly, monthly, or yearly, each starting with a 14-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-26

- Fixed cases where syncing two phones on one account could lose changes.
- Restoring a backup while signed in now replaces only that account's habits, tasks and tags, on this phone and on your other devices, and tells you how many items it leaves out.
- If this version is too old to sync, HabitGrip now says so and links to the update.
- You can now name a new tag, or rename one, with the name of a tag you deleted.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-23

No release notes.
