### 3/5 — Almost there

*2010-03-31, version 0*

Would love to see a badge on this application so that I know how many habits I haven't completed that day.Would also like the option of selecting certain weekdays on which to carry out my habits. Best habits app I have used because of the 'every day' 'every 2nd day' options.
More colour would be appreciated too.
Look forward to an upgraded version.

### 3/5 — Simple App. Could do with some simple additional functionality.

*2010-02-19, version 0*

I got this app with the sole purpose of using it as a "Seinfeld Calendar" log. From this perspective it works fine, and as advertised. The calendar view in particular was basically what I was looking for. Considering how simple the application is it would be nice to see the developer add the ability to edit the log (e.g. I marked the wrong day twice, and couldnt edit the log)

### 4/5 — Excellent helper for repeating tasks!

*2009-12-30, version 0*

I really like this little app. It's not a replacement for a to-do list or app, it's a supplement. Those things that don't HAVE to be done on a certain day, but that you need/want to do, and that repeat, are perfect for this app. It's helped me get better at keeping in touch with family, exercising, praying, and reading. One update I'd love to see is to have a little badge like Mail that gives a count of the things that should be done now.

### 3/5 — Needs Work

*2009-07-15, version 0*

Great start but needs a few fixes to be 1.99

1. Having the way you input data "every 2 to 3" is great for some stuff. But others require every tuesday and wednesday. For that now I have to use a different app.

2. Maybe a little cleaner cut look. Take a look at some todo managers for good theme ideas.

3. Editing the past events

4. Badge

5. Make use of push notifications to auto update badge. The entire premise of the app is useless unless you remember to open it.

These are just a couple things that would really make this app sell. Once the last two are done you can charge well over 2 dollars. Great work.

### 3/5 — So-so, needs work

*2009-05-25, version 0*

Have Bren using this for a few weeks now and it is helping build habits. I do have a couple of thoughts.
First, I think it's overpriced at $2.49. It's pretty basic.
Second, I can't edit habits I've put in using the standard iphone method. I need to delete back character by character then retype, rather than moving back to the middle of a sentence. Minor but annoying.
Third, I think just with some minor additional functionality it would be better. For example, some habits need to happen every night, some every morning, and some during the day. I know the developer is wary of adding too much, but it's annoying to sit at work and see a habit I want to develop at night (e.g. "prepare clothes for tomorrow") all day. There must be a better solution, without adding too much complexity.
The basic principle of getting a lot of stuff out of my regular time management app is sound.

Two suggestions: 1. I'd like the option to just tick a habit as done rather than having to take three steps every time. 2. I'd like to be able to order the list using the standard iPhone edit interface, which would solve the problem above without adding complexity.

### 3/5 — Don't Load the Update

*2009-03-15, version 0*

I just loaded on the recent update and the app doesn't work or load anymore. Just freezes a second and bumps me out of it. I'm very disappointed because I used this app everyday and used to like it. IDK if its a problem with also loading an Ipod Touch update at same time. But whatever it is, its no longer working. =(

### 3/5 — ...

*2009-03-13, version 0*

This is a good app for remembering to do things but I hardly ever use it. I mainly use another app with a tag on it that let's you know that you still have something to do. I actually forget to check this. Otherwise it is ok.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2009-01-28, version 0*

I really like this app to keep me honest on things I need to do that don't have a specific due date and to avoid cluttering my todo list. I agree that the UI could be dressed up a bit but most of all I wish the app displayed a badge of the items that should be done now. hopefully the app will be continually updated. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Very useful, can do with a few extra functionalities still

*2009-01-24, version 0*

Habits looks simple but I've found it very useful. The best features are that you do not need to fix specific dates, just number of times a week etc if you like. So much more flexible. I also like that it calculates and shows the success rate (percentage).

However, while using the app I still find myself missing certain features, such as:
1. The ability to jot down a note or journal. For instance, I created a habit to be more patient. On days when I felt I've failed in this, it would be helpful if I can enter a note to detail how I've failed that day.
2. Password protect would be nice. I'm a very private person but the iPhone is a very popular phone that my friends are always borrowing to play with :-p

### 4/5 — Asdf

*2009-01-10, version 0*

Absolutely love this app-- has helped me a lot with my daily todos. Could use a couple of things here and there that I hope the author works on but I'm not picky

### 3/5 — Does what it claims

*2009-01-06, version 0*

Great idea. Just needs a couple more features like more options for how frequently an item needs to be done (e.g., every morning or evening). Also needs a little sprucing to make the interface look a little sharper. Overall, a great app.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2009-01-05, version 0*

I like this app but it could be so much better. First, it takes far too many clicks to record something as simple as "I just did something". Second, I can't set habits any longer than a every month. I need something to remind me to clean the Dyson hoover every five or 6 months, take my son to the dentist.... so some kind of way of setting these longer term habits would be appreciated. Finally, there are also things I need to do in particular months of the year (pruning, bulb planting). Now I could use a calendar but I'd have to set up an appointment to repeat every day for an entire month just to remind me to do the daffodils, you get my drift. You could have habits that were organised by the seasons. Then you'd have a really good application. It is useful though.

### 4/5 — Great for remembering recurring tasks.

*2008-12-30, version 0*

Great little app to handle all those recurring tasks that often get forgotten but would clutter up the calendar if placed there. Would be nice to have a few more/more detailed options for timing tasks (e.g. Every Monday instead of every week) but certainly not vital. Hopefully using this app will mean I no longer forget to water my plants.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don't!

*2012-03-17, version 1.4*

Needs badges & reminders. App is Rather useless without it.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2009-03-12, version 0*

Was ok until update yesterday but has now crashed my phone every time I've tried it

### 2/5 — New update has a major problem!

*2013-08-18, version 2.0*

This is the first app I purchased for my iPhone. I use it everyday & love it. Unfortunately the new update does not let me scroll up or down unless I am touching the light blue sides, which my case covers. Please fix!!! I love this app , but will have to look elsewhere if this is not resolved.

### 2/5 — A little buggy?

*2010-04-15, version 0*

Very nice concept overall, not sure if implementation is 100% worked out. For example, I have a habit saved for every week, it says I last did it on the 5th, today is the 8th and it's in my "time to do" list.

Once a habit goes overdue, there is no way to track how many times it wasn't done.

### 2/5 — Get Streaks Instead

*2009-07-21, version 0*

It's unclear which days you have already marked, and it does not give graphical indications of your progress. This app would be more worth it if it added to-dos to Calendar. Overall, Streaks is much better.

### 2/5 — Bad, Bad, Bad

*2009-04-11, version 0*

I wanted a streak-calendar type app, and this was the cheapest, so I thought I'd try it out.
Sadly, it was a waste of $2.
It's totally confusing. Not to mention it's fugly.

The only pro, which is partly why I bought it in the first place, is that you can pause your goal on vacations, weekends, etc. so they won't count against your streak.

If this app was easier to use or at least looked nice, I'd raise my rating by a LOT.

I'd recommend spending an extra couple of bucks and get another app better and similar to this one.
Here's a couple similar apps to check out before making your decision:
- Goalkeep
- Streaks

### 2/5 — Very helpful!

*2009-04-03, version 0*

This is a great app, but I do agree with others that a password feature & ability to set tasks to every morning / every evening would be an improvement.

### 2/5 — Not motivating enough

*2009-03-09, version 0*

This is a nice little app for checking off repeating To Dos and already established habits, but to fulfil it's potential to facilitate developing and mainting new habits it needs some kind of visual record of progress...like a graph...to sustain motivation. Without this kind of feature I ran out of steam and stopped using it pretty quickly.

### 2/5 — Falls a little short, but still a decent App

*2008-12-10, version 0*

It's a nice little App. I can see where the developer was heading and I applaud his efforts. Where it falls short is you can't set anything up for more than once a day. If you need to do something more than once a day you're stuck. I would really appreciate an update that would allow users to set things up for more than once a day and maybe even set a time!

### 3/5 — Okay

*2018-12-03, version 3.0.1*

Alright app. Can't view a calendar view so you really analyze habit history. No way to undo an accidental check of a habit.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Keeps me in the rotation

*2016-06-02, version 2.03*

This app is great for what is too long a list of things I should do regularly. It ranks thing by how long it seems been since I've done it. When an item rises to the top, I know it's been too long.

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2016-02-02, version 2.03*

High quality, excellent workflow design. I love this app. 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2014-03-27, version 2.03*

I wanted an app that would remind me to call my parents once a week, but just at some point, not "every Monday at 8 am". After downloading ten to-do list apps, I finally found this one that thinks the same way I do. Yay!

### 5/5 — Works good!

*2013-09-01, version 2.01*

Trying this for daily exercise and getting places on time. So far so good!

### 5/5 — ms

*2009-06-24, version 0*

This is a great application, truly helps to form habits.
I would really like to see an evening/morning option too, that would be just perfect!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2009-05-03, version 0*

This is an amazing application. It fills a major hole in the GTD system. It's helping me establish new & healthy habits in my life and that's something I've always struggled with. Thank you and well done.

### 5/5 — Helps establish routines

*2009-02-19, version 0*

I think this app is great. The best app there is for "to-do's" that reoccur on a regular frequency. Maybe I will keep my plants alive now that I'm reminded to water them every week. The app tells you when you are due to complete a task, and the frequency is set by you. It also keeps percentages of on-time performance, so you can tell if you are improving. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Splendid app. Great concept.

*2009-01-30, version 0*

Habits is unlike any other GTD. Where other GTDs focus on single tasks, Habits takes care of your all round ability to live your life. The app is very simple and has a very functional UI. If you want to get yourself to go to the gym every alternate day, or clear our junk files every week, Habits will get you to do it. 4 Stars because I have a minor issues with UI decisions. Recommended.

### 5/5 — So easy to set up and get going

*2008-12-28, version 0*

Within the first minute of downloading Habits I was able to easily set up several activities and reminders. I will be relying on Habits to adhere to my list of New Years' resolutions and can recommend this app to anyone else with similar goals.

### 5/5 — So close to perfect

*2008-12-16, version 0*

I love this app and use it every day. Finally there is a way to organize habits I want to have. As a busy mother of three, including a toddler and a newborn, this helps me to stay on track.

It is worth every cent. I am really looking forward to seeing updates of this app.
