Kâinatın, onun yüzü suyu hürmetine yaratıldığı Hz. Muhammed Aleyhissalâtüvesselâm Efendimiz'in ubûdiyetinin ruhu duâdır; yani onun kulluğunun temelini, Rabbisine yönelik yakarışları teşkîl etmektedir. 

Âlemlere rahmet olan Efendimiz (asm)'ın ma'nevî iklimini, onun dizi dibinde teneffüs etmek; insanlık âlemine onun riyâsetinde asr-ı saâdeti yaşatan ashâbının, o güzîde insanların şereflendirdikleri mekânları ziyâret etmek; âteşine pervâne olarak Allah'ın beytine, Kâ'be'sine yüz sürmek gibi bir ayrıcalığa mazhar olanların, kalbi hüşyâr insanların yapabilecekleri en makbûl duâlar, yine ancak o gönüller sultanının yaptığı duâlar olabilir. 

"Vermeyi istemeseydi, istemeyi vermezdi” ruhunu canlı tutarak, duâ edileceği vakit tevbe ve istiğfârla ma'nen temizlenmek, hem duâlarımıza makbûl bir duâ olan salavât-ı şerîfe ile başlamak ve "İki makbûl duâ arasında yapılan duâ da makbûldür” sırrına mazhar olmak niyetiyle duâlarımızı yine salavâtla bitirmek, huşû' ve huzûr içinde hadîsde ve âyette gelen me'sûr duâlarla tazarru' ve niyâzda bulunmak da duânın âdâbındandır. 

Elinizdeki bu kitapçıkta derlenmeye gayret edilen Hac ve Umre Duâları, Kur'ân ve sünnetten iktibâsen, “nass” ta'bîr edilen o kudsî kaynaklardan beslenerek onlardan alınmış, kabûle yakın mervî duâlar olarak büyüklerimizin himmetiyle, ondört asırdır mu'teber kitaplar vasıtasıyla bizlere kadar ulaşmıştır. Bu duâlarda geçen tekil zamirler, duâların umûma şâmil olması niyetiyle olabildiğince çoğul hâle getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
