## What is HackEm?

HackEn is a mix of a real-time strategy and a tower defense game.

The player is a hacker who has been set up by a mysterious enemy and now is trying to get his revenge. The game is a mix of a real-time strategy and a tower defender. Data sources are located on the randomly generated map and the player will need to build a base to extract information from all of them and at the same time protect himself from waves of security drones with turrets and autobots. Completing missions will reward the player with credits that can be used to unlock new weapons and equipment upgrades.

Fairly basic, but an ok game. Attacks are unbalanced, though; first wave often quite manageable but everything after seems to come in at much more intensity than it’s reasonable to assume player can be prepared for. Often survivable, but, limited resources and slow distribution networks also limits recovery, leading this to be much more a game of attrition than anything else. Resource scarcity is again a problem there - rounds can be very long.

Ich finde das Spiel deutlich zu schwer bzw zu wenige Ressourcen. Kaum hat man einen „Datentopf“ erobert ist er auch schon leer. 

Ansonsten wären es 5 Sterne

Von easy auf medium ein weiter Sprung der den Spielspass trübt. Easy ist wirklich langweilig easy und medium schon wieder zu schwer (für mich).
Generell fehlt für ein rundes Spielerlebnis das nötige Feintuning zwischen Baumöglichkeiten und Angreifer/Anzahl. Das gesunde Verhältnis eben.
Das Setting an sich ist originell und doch fühlt es sich weder digital noch real an... irgenwas dazwischen eben.
2-3h gespielt dann nach allen Tier1 Upgrades deinstalliert da ich 10x easy absolviert habe und beim 3. Medium und 10. Aufgeben keine Lust mehr hatte

Das Spielkonzept an sich ist schon recht gut und kurzweilig, nur werden im Tutorial nur die absoluten Grundlagen erläutert. Der Generator (den man von Anfang an verwenden kann und sollte) wird gar nicht erklärt, weshalb ich ihn am Anfang auch kaum verwendet habe, bis ich mich gewundert habe, warum meine Türme nicht mehr schießen. Generell ist dieses Konzept "Strom fließt von A nach B" irgendwie nicht so nachvollziehbar wie ich es mir wünschen würde. 
Auch habe ich erst durch einen Screenshot auf der Shop Seite gesehen, wie man Upgrades anwendet. Es wurde leider wieder nirgendwo erklärt.

Sehr schön gemachtes Spiel! Kommt zum Glück auch ganz ohne nervige Werbung aus!

The first couple levels were easy enough but I just CAN’T get past level 3. Endless waves of enemies spawn too quickly to build defences and resources are so limited that you can’t build enough anyway. There’s only 1 level available that grants credits, so you can’t even grind easier levels to upgrade equipment to make the higher levels (again, level 3) easier. 

Don’t buy the turret upgrade btw. Selling a base turret nets 10 coins and so does selling an upgraded one, so you’re better off just buying 2 turrets.
