### 4/5 — Plz support edge browser on ios

*2025-06-11*

Good app, but despite my sytem default browser being edge, my only options for this app are safari or chrome

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-06-03, version 1.3.0*

Best way to view hn

### 5/5 — Best HN app

*2024-05-28, version 1.3.0*

I tried every single HN app and this one is the best (even better than trilby which is my 2nd fav but loses to this because the in-app browser of it is worse than here). Excellent! A common issue other HN apps have: you want to swipe back from the comments to the main page but the app thinks you are swiping a comment to comment it or interact with it... This app gets UI right, thanks!

### 5/5 — It just works

*2024-02-18, version 1.3.0*

Beautiful lightweight app, can leave in the background for hours and when reopened it’s always where you left it, without any annoying reloading of context or losing your place. Thank you - it’s like the old days of software!

### 5/5 — Best browser among all!

*2024-02-11*

The best reader among all! Enjoy it every day!

### 5/5 — My *new* “Apollo”

*2024-02-01*

Been using this reader for HN ever since Reddit’s API pricing ripoff for small devs.

It’s sleek, responsive, minimal, and intuitive.

Wishlist: HN account login for comments, upvoting, and saving posts.

### 5/5 — No frills, just works (TM)

*2023-12-02*

Simple yet effective app! Probably the best interface for HN.

### 5/5 — Nice reader

*2023-10-07, version 1.3.0*

I use it every day

### 5/5 — Best I’ve seen

*2023-09-21*

I like that it defaults to the site, not the comments. And has no extra crap during the share text. And no Pro version junk

### 5/5 — Good app

*2023-06-19, version 1.3.0*

Works well and has honest review practices.

### 5/5 — Can add a feature of focus the words in comments?

*2023-06-19*

Hello, the app is awesome.
But I need a feature of focus the words in comments so that I can translate by Apple dictionary. Because I am learning English, often find some words which I don’t understand.
This feature maybe very helpful for the people like me and I think it will not be difficulty(I am a develop, too, but for web)
Thank you !

### 5/5 — Really good app

*2023-06-08*

The app is very intuitive and easy to use. A suggestion from my side is to add a search bar for searching specific keywords

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t search, can’t sort

*2025-04-12, version 1.3.0*

Can’t search, can’t sort

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2022-11-08, version 1.2.2*

First of all, your FANCY contact form is broken……. Instead of scrolling, a gesture is often recognized (back). When tapping on links, the thread collapses 9 out of 10 times.

### 1/5 — Don’t ask me for reviews

*2021-10-29, version 1.2.2*

Don’t ask me for reviews

### 1/5 — Beautiful and fast

*2019-05-05, version 1.0.0*

...but missing many key features

### 2/5 — app ain’t hackernews worthy

*2023-06-07, version 1.3.0*

look,
- no login creds to leave comments is a RO app
- only uses safari (eat all the cookies)
- can’t export bookmarks (dafq?)
- seems to rank new in a strange order vs. browser (dafq?)
- it’s stable

### 3/5 — A bit too spartan?

*2026-02-13*

I really like the convenience of this app over accessing the website on my phone. It has a clean interface and presentation. However, I would like 2 options added: a) disallow thread collapsing - I find myself accidentally collapsing threads due to an inadvertent screen touch; and b) allow the user to change the font size. Maybe these options are there but I cannot find them (Apple IOS). Thank you for a well thought out and intuitive app.

### 3/5 — Simple to use and light weight

*2024-05-30, version 1.3.0*

The app is light weight. And its easy to use as the HN site.

### 3/5 — Would crowdfunding persuade a new version

*2023-10-10, version 1.3.0*

I really like this app but I would love a few extra features like some people in the reviews. It would be awesome to be able export bookmarks for example. Would the developer be tempted out of retirement by a crowdfunding effort?

### 3/5 — Simple to use and light weight

*2023-04-23*

The app is light weight. And its easy to use as the HN site.

### 3/5 — Missin login and commenting functions

*2023-01-19, version 1.3.0*

It would be great with some login and commenting fucntions. I also miss the option to look at the /best sorting

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome work!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-02-01*

The app is snappy and has a clean UX

### 5/5 — Simple, fast, no ads

*2025-11-28*

What’s not to like?

### 5/5 — Solid as a rock

*2025-02-12, version 1.3.0*

Solid. Just works and my go-to app.

### 5/5 — Best simple HN app

*2025-02-12, version 1.3.0*

I’ve used Hacker feed for years now. It’s reliable and simple.

Lately I’ve been craving the ability to interact more, things like upvoting and replying to comments. Maybe even posting. If there ever was an update to the app it would be amazing to see these features.

Another small suggestion -> if you click on a HN link within hacker feed it opens it with the integrated browser rather than opening the page within Hacker Feed. It’s nicer browsing and reading in hacker feed.

Edit - would you be open to pull requests if your users wanted to add the features that are bing suggested in the comments? I see there are some more people asking for updates.

### 5/5 — Best mobile app for HN

*2025-01-04*

Just works and love it

### 5/5 — Best Hacker News Reader in App Store

*2024-12-22, version 1.3.0*

I installed all the top Hacker news readers in the App Store and came to the conclusion that this is the best one. The only feature I am missing is reading history. Aside from that this app is amazing!

### 5/5 — Delays

*2024-12-15*

I want to preface this by saying that this is one of my most used apps. Thank you for making it, releasing it for free, AND not including any tracking bits. However, recently I’ve noticed an increased delay in loading times when selecting “Open HN link” . Not sure if it’s the app, the recent phone update that coincided with the delay, or something on HN’s end. It goes away if I try to reopen the same link moments later. Thanks again for the awesome app.

### 5/5 — Works great👍

*2024-07-25*

pretty much straight forward, thanks for not clunking it up 😄

### 5/5 — Very simple and convenient to use

*2024-06-13*

Could you maybe add an option to export all the bookmarks? I want have a lot of unread links that I want to export and summarise
