This makes it pretty much unusable. ### 2/5 — Good app ruined by poor UI changes *2024-06-08, version 1.1.2* Recently the story details have moved to the bottom. This is not a great change. I wish it was optional and was a preference. Would be 4 stars otherwise. ### 3/5 — Broken links *2024-12-21* Almost perfect, but links that are too long get truncated, not only do they look shorter, the actual link is cut off as well. Can you add an option to place that above the comments list so we can scroll down past it? ### 4/5 — Great, with one new issue *2024-05-28, version 1.1.1* A great app, but the story summary bar has moved from the top to the bottom in the most recent update. Please make this a preference, rather than forcing this quite major change! Another issue is that URLs that are abbreviated/elided now do not work - the underlying hyperlink has been shortened as well as the displayed text. This was not previously an issue. ### 4/5 — Quick feedback / suggestion *2023-10-20* Great app, I use it all the time, but I do have a suggestion - under groups, the “read” section takes too long to load, particularly if you have over 1000 to 2000 previously read articles. It’ll be nice if this section could only load the last 10 to 20 articles that have been read, with a button to load more if necessary. When you open and switch to another app, the Hacker News will reset, and sometimes you lose track of where you were you were. The “read” section is a good way to quickly get back to what you were looking at, but again the issue is that it will take at times 30 seconds to a minute to load. ### 4/5 — Sleek design and nice customizations, but missing an important feature. *2023-07-23* This is one of the very few good looking, smooth and customisable Hacker news apps. The icon options are great too. I like that it’s developed on SwiftUI. The text and comments are nicely formatted. It has the convenient swipe gestures throughout. One complaint with the design is that the pinned story comes in the way while browsing the comments. I wish it had a collapse button. Another minor gripe is that it takes 2 taps and a gesture to start searching. And, the search itself is very limited. It’s missing comments search, filters (date) and sorting. The Summarize, Read time estimate, Groups and Read history are great features to have. However, the big miss is the HN account integration and hence the ability to comment, upvote, etc. Hope a future update to the app brings this feature.
