It’s not for instance location aware. When setting time control for example doesn’t support “sunset” or “sunrise”. Why not use the GPS provided on the mobile phone to automatically determine this? Use it time control for light is heavily dependent on ambient luminance. Many other basic home automation apps provide this. HomeKit integration is non existent. A WiFi bridge is available (not free) but unsure if buying that allows for remote management. Sometimes it shows the current state of my lights. Sometimes it doesn’t. The scheduling feature is very limited. E.g. I like to change the lighting schedule based on sunset (turn on lights when it gets dark). There is no support for Google, only Alexa which works intermittently. Example if 2 people have the App and I close app after use and say the second person connects, the first person is now totally locked out of the app at all times. It’s frustrating because if you are one now wants to use you need to do a full space Install/reconnect back to the mesh box. Once you do this and you trial/test to see if working the second person is now locked out and needs to reconnect to mesh mesh box Install. Surely two people can have the app on their device. I understand one user at a time connected to Bluetooth, but if the other person is signed out, then the next person should be able to connect. This also makes it really frustrating if one person has left the house and the lights need to be changed. Once again, you have to do a full install or reinstall to be able to access lighting. Would love to hear from support if there’s a setting or something that are required to do to prevent this from happening. ### 2/5 — Timer not working still *2024-08-23* Tried many emails with Haefele customer service, updated the app many times, rewrote my schedules, and the timer still only works randomly. Sometimes the lights come on per schedule, sometimes they turn off early. Inductive light switch now randomly requires two swipes to turn lights off and on. I waited 2 years for the time function and unfortunately it doesn’t work. My daughter’s $20 Amazon LED lights, however have a flawless times. Das war so schwierig das man das nicht selber hinbekommt. Bei der App scheint es mir genauso. Ich frage mich wie unfähig muss mann als Programmierer sein um so ein Müll abzuliefern. Doesn’t always connect to the mesh box even when you are 2 ft away. Doesn’t always connect to the gateway even if you are close. Never shows the correct status of the devices connected to it. Now when I connect every room, every device is labeled in the opposite state it is actually in. Here is just one example: all my devices (lights) are “on” (currently controlled through a schedule) but all of the devices show “off” in the app. This has been an issue for over a year. Nachdem ich eine 70€ Loox Fernbedienung nach 2 Jahren nicht mehr koppeln konnte & einfach die App Usage hingenommen habe, kann ich nach dem aktuellen Update und der Migration meine LED Stripes GAR nicht mehr an und aus schalten. Reset & neu verbinden hat nichts gebracht. Wird alles raus gerissen & gegen was anders getauscht. My latest example set up three schedules to initiate three different scenes. Schedule starts and only 2 of six lights come on. If I initiate the scene myself all the lights come on. IO Broker, Home Assistant Grafana und vieles mehr, aber die Meshbox mit 2 Bewegungsmelder von Häfele bringt mich technisch an meine Grenze. Ein Stern Abzug nur deshalb, weil sich die App bei der Einrichtung mehrfach aufgehängt hat. ### 4/5 — Sehr gut ABER *2024-12-01, version 2.1.3* Die App ist deutlich besser als V1, allerdings hatte ich recht lange Probleme mit der app wo diese sich geweigert hat sich zu verbinden, diese wurden aber scheinbar mit einem Software Update behoben. Ein Wunsch den ich noch hätte wäre, falls technisch möglich, eine Einbindung in shortcuts oder ein “Schalter” Widget für den Home Screen oder eine Einbindung in Apples HomeKit. Perfekt wäre es wenn man den Zeitplan an den Sonnenuntergang koppeln könnte. Idealerweise mit einem einstellbaren Delay bzw. Offset. ### 3/5 — Terrible *2026-03-09* Hafele needs to get with the times! This app is absolutely terrible and it looks like it’s 10 years old. Won’t even account for daylight savings time! Devices (groups) cannot be used in multiple schedules. For instance, I want lights to turn on for a couple of hours in the evening, then again early in the morning. If I set up two schedules to do this, neither works. I can only include the group in one schedule. It would also be nice to be able to include individual devices in a schedule. Currently, you need to create a group with a single device if you only want that device. Another recommendation for schedules is to have the default to every day instead of no days. Last comment is a repeat from my original review - which “hubs” or “gateways” will work? Original review: V2 is much better than V1. However, the newly added schedule feature doesn’t appear to work properly. You can set up schedules, but nothing happens at the scheduled times. My lights don’t turn on. Scenes don’t work properly either. Once you create a scene, you can’t turn it off or deactivate it. I had to turn the lights off manually and delete the scene I created. Integration with Alexa isn’t described well. It appears that you will need to purchase a connect mesh “hub” or “gateway” that will connect to the bluetooth connect mesh network, but no information is provided to describe which devices are compatible. **Developer response:** Dear Hackettcs, thank you very much for your feedback! The scheduling issue you raised has been fixed in version 2.04, which is already available for download. Scenes work as they should. Bluetooth mesh scenes can be understood as stored light values that can be activated. As all the lights in a scene can be in other groups/scenes, we never know the previous state. So it's not possible to switch them "off". As you described, the Häfele gateway is required to connect to Amazon Alexa.
