### 2/5 — Problems with app connecting

*2023-05-10, version 3.0.8*

I like the fan - when the app works. If there’s a power outage the app disconnects and may take days - sometimes longer than a week - before it reconnects and is usable again. This is despite a strong WiFi signal in the room with the fan. Many of the most useful features of the fan are only accessible thru the app - such as speed range and desired temperature in sleep mode. When the app reconnects, everything is back to the default initial settings. 🥺. I’m not certain I’d buy another Haiku fan because of this.

### 5/5 — I love my fan.

*2022-04-15, version 3.0.5*

Most attractive fan on market bar none! Works great too!

### 4/5 — No more Sleep mode, why?

*2022-04-06, version 3.0.4*

The new app is cleaner and more modern but Sleep mode has been removed, why? You can now only have one auto setting or a fixed fan speed. With Sleep mode, you could set a different temperature, cooler at night, than you have during the day. This is such a simple setting, hopefully it’s brought back before they end-of-life the old app that still supports it.

### 4/5 — Works very well but……..

*2022-04-05, version 3.0.3*

The name of the App below the App icon is a mess. On my phone, it shows Haikuby…. rather than Haiku or BAF. It looks amateurish. The App itself works very well. I wish App names could be changed on iOS but they can’t. Please fix.

### 4/5 — Great fans, app

*2022-04-01, version 3.0.2*

I love the haiku fans. We have four in our condo, installed about 4 years ago. Quiet and efficient. We use wall control units and the haiku app to control them but these need a strong, stable WiFi. Early on, our WiFi was not good enough. Wall units and fans dropped off. On those occasions we needed a handheld remote to control the fans. We’ve since boosted our WiFi (with a mesh) and find the devices no longer disappear from the app. Works great now.

### 5/5 — Wonderful Fan and App

*2022-03-20, version 3.0.0*

I love my Haiku fan, really appreciate using the app to control it, and purchased three more during the last sale. It’s fantastic being able to turn on the light and fan in the workout room as I walk to it. I also appreciate the slightly larger size of the new style remote. Still sleek, but less likely to get misplaced 😏.

### 4/5 — Works most of the time

*2022-03-20, version 3.0.0*

The App is pretty handy for when a remote is not.
Also good to see the Haiku settings for the more advanced units.
Reliability of finding the fans has been pretty frustrating recently. Not sure why my fans cannot be found sometimes but can on others.

### 5/5 — Best fan ever

*2022-03-20, version 3.0.0*

This is by far the best ceiling fan ever. Not only does it look great in my living room but works flawlessly. Produces a large amount of airflow compared to you standard big box store fans of similar size. Led lights are a must if purchasing this fan. I’ve had this fan for nearly two years and use it continuously all season long. I have not had any issues whatsoever with this fan. Great product and well worth the premium price. You will not be disappointed!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2022-03-18, version 3.0.0*

Fantastic product and great app, simple and effective, does what I want, when I want. Highly recommended.

### 3/5 — I heart haiku

*2022-03-18, version 3.0.0*

I love everything but the app needs dark mode. Whyyyyyy

### 5/5 — Works great.

*2022-03-17, version 3.0.0*

Works reliably. Good app.

### 5/5 — Wonderful products!

*2022-03-03, version 2.10.3*

We have had none of the difficulties others mention. We have two (Gorgeous) Haikus, each easily controlled either by Haiku Home, remotes, or Alexa, who plays nicely with them. It was very easy to set up an account with B1gA55Fans, and simple to get Alexa to recognize individual fans. I am not a big techie, but have followed directions. BigAss tech help has been exceptional. Beyond me why folks building high-end homes don’t go directly to BAF. Everything else looks “so 20th Century”.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Connectivity disaster

*2024-01-08, version 3.0.11*

I’m removing the lights from the fans because they are so bad

### 1/5 — Haiku lights and fan do not have steady network connection

*2022-10-02, version 3.0.7*

Haiku discontinued the lights products and ever since they do not connect to the network properly. They go on and off all the time but all other products (Phillips hue lights, newt cameras, ring alarm, google door lock, laptops, ipad, and all other wireless devices connect sweet and smooth) work fine. It is a big pain these lights and all HAIKU products lack network stability. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Amazing hardware - terrible software.

*2022-08-27, version 3.0.7*

Hardware is amazing. Software is terrible. Save yourself lots of trouble and choose another option.

### 1/5 — No timer function available anymore

*2022-04-26, version 3.0.6*

I like that new app but not having a timer function in the app or even via the remote control any more is a dealbreaker.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2022-04-25, version 3.0.5*

Latest update has resulted in total loss of app controls. Help!

### 1/5 — Help app is useless

*2022-03-22, version 3.0.0*

Can no longer control or add fans to either app

### 1/5 — Crashes!

*2022-03-16, version 3.0.0*

Upgraded to Version 3.0 on IOS 15.4 and it’s useless when WiFi is turned on it crashes constantly and will not open long enough to do literally anything unless WiFi is turned off with makes the app basically useless at this point.

### 1/5 — App is buggy

*2022-02-13, version 2.10.3*

Love the haiku fans. Replaced all my fans with Haiku which is not cheap. The iOS app to manage the fan needs to be upgraded. Last update was 9 months ago. Very buggy and the functions are not performing as designed. Will BAF and Haiku come up with an update soon?

### 1/5 — App is not working

*2022-01-09, version 2.10.3*

Won’t allow me to create an account (sends a “null setting error”) and when I enter my BAF creds for my existing account (verified by web) it sends an error that my creds are wrong.

Spent a bunch of time setting up a fan, and now can’t get it to work until BAF pushes a fix for this busted app.

### 1/5 — No longer linking with Google Home

*2021-10-28, version 2.10.3*

With the latest updates the ability to link with Google Home has been lost.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Haiku Fan

*2026-02-24, version 3.0.14*

This app is still my favourite over the new one. Very stable, great settings schedules, motion and sleep.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-06-17, version 3.0.14*

Love how this app continues to be updated despite being retired. ( I don’t want to switch)

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-09-26, version 3.0.11*

I’ve had my 2 fans for several years now. They both turn on in the evening and shut off later

They both turn on when it’s too warm inside

I have tried the motion detector and it did what I wanted it to do. It blew at full blast when she came into the room. Scared the hell out of her. She still thinks that it was something wrong with the fan. Hope she doesn’t read this

### 5/5 — I like Big Fans and I Cannot Lie…

*2023-07-24, version 3.0.8*

We’ve had this fan for many years now, and I’m always amazed at its operation, looks, and effectiveness.
Always super quiet with excellent connectivity, it’s a great addition to our Great Room. I highly recommend BAF!

### 5/5 — Around and around

*2023-07-12, version 3.0.8*

Great ceiling fan and the motion sensor is a nice touch. I would recommend adding a step down feature: when set at a speed and step down selected the fan speed would lower one level every two hours and stay at level one. Other than that everything worn
Ks great

### 5/5 — Amazing Fan!!!!!

*2023-04-20, version 3.0.8*

BIF have the best fans ever! Love them and will be a customer forever.

### 5/5 — Wonderful fans with an excellent app

*2022-12-19, version 3.0.8*

These are wonderful fans, using very little electricity to quietly cool your house. We have two of them and we would buy more if we had more rooms. Highly, highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-09-17, version 3.0.7*

I use this original App for my three Haiku fans. I just want to keep things simple without having to have to sign up to more encompassing home automation Apps. This App work 100% great.

### 5/5 — Amazing fan

*2022-09-01, version 3.0.7*

On the lower settings there is 0 noise. Once you crank it up you can hear the blades moving but no motor noises. It’s an ideal fan for spots where you need a quiet fan. The app works well with the fan

### 5/5 — It randomly logged in when I installed this 😂

*2022-05-08, version 3.0.7*

Awesome app it automatically connects to your haiku fan so you can control your moms fan 😳😂
