HailRecon takes some getting used to and is not as polished, but you get all the same features for way less cost. Once you get around some of the quirks of the system it works really well and has everything you need and more! ### 3/5 — Too many bugs *2025-06-19* They definitely need to update a lot of the bugs they have. It is worth it, you will lose more money on this app than it will make you ### 2/5 — Overpriced and Outdated *2019-05-28* The idea of Hail Recon is better than the actual performance behind the app. You would think with the amount of money it cost to subscribe to Hail Recon that they would put more money into development within their app to improve it/update it but they haven’t. The app feels like it belongs on my iPhone 3G; definitely not my iPhone X. Unfortunately, given the limited amount of development for apps like this, I will say it’s the best of the bunch, unfortunately.. ### 2/5 — Notifications are awful *2019-04-13, version 4.0* There has to be a way to shut off the multiple daily hail percentage notifications. And other notifications that will never apply to me. I don’t care if there’s a 15% chance of hail in Texas. I’m in Ohio. This seems like a basic feature that I don’t understand why it’s not been implemented yet. ### 1/5 — Most recent hail map 2016??! *2019-04-06, version 4.0* The data behind this app hasn't been updated since 4/28/2016. This is the absolute worst app around. Holy cow can this thing mess up any more? It takes TWO FREAKING HOURS to run a report sometimes. No indication on the map anywhere near me in Colorado. History shows only something 2006 and earlier ### 1/5 — This is made buy a big baby *2019-09-28, version 4.0* I put in my correct password and it will not go thru and I try to register and then you big baby sent me an email but It obviously did not because I can never see the hail tracker because of your big fat baby move. I have the nationwide plan, and have for a few years. It looks like they just refreshed the accounts settings, and the app. I’m loving it so far! Their meteorologists really have their maps dialed in! They do an awesome job of mapping the storms. The reports have also been really helpful when I’m fighting with the insurance companies. If you’re thinking about getting Hail Recon, stop thinking and do it!! ### 5/5 — Great Product! *2026-04-16* Great product with a great team to back it up. I’ve been with them for years. I always talk with Rhett, he’s great. Just helped me with a subscription question that would save me some $$$ to accomplish my intended goal. Didn’t try to upsell me to get there but provided a common sense solution that helped me out.
