The search bar doesn’t work. No filter for products within the store. I just came out of a conbini with just a bread. Because I spend 40 minutes just find this bread from products list + 20 minutes to search for the cheese available in conbini to see if it is halal. I couldn’t find the cheese in halal or haram section. The searching system needs an upgrade. ### 2/5 — Very outdated! *2024-05-16* At first i was so happy to find this app starting my life in japan , i also got the payed version. But sadly it’s Very out dated most of the items i scan are not available and the products they add are obviously halal or non necessary! like orange juce ? Spaghetti? And hair gel ?? What about the actual food ? The database is very old and should be updated specifically the combini items many popular items are not there and the manual searching also needs some work. And there is no setting option to change. ### 1/5 — Helpful but weird *2025-12-09* I am confused. Some bread products which do not use shortening nor emulsifier nor margarine but flagged as Haram. The app said that the product contains Lard in the ingredients but when i read the ingredient list, there is no lard. This is in several products. Also some products did not updated since 2021 ### 1/5 — Everything is Haram even have HALAL LABEL *2025-11-15* Honestly, I have no idea what the admin of this Halal app is doing. I’m paying every month just to see the same outdated products that never change. And when she does label things, it’s always wrong. She marks everything as haram even when the packaging clearly says Halal, like she has no idea what she’s checking. The Brazilian chicken situation is even more absurd. Most Brazilian chicken isn’t even marked as halal or haram. She puts “doubtful,” as if Brazil is some big mystery nobody can solve. Meanwhile, chicken from Malaysia or Thailand is instantly considered Halal without any hesitation. Brazil becomes haram or “doubtful,” Malaysia and Thailand become Halal. No logic, no consistency, nothing. This app turned into a service where nothing is accurate, nothing is updated, and you pay monthly just to get confused. Anyone thinking about subscribing should know: even when the label clearly says Halal, the app still calls it haram or doubtful. To be frank, I can’t trust it at all. As seen in other reviews, there are instances where halal products contain haram ingredients, and conversely, some products labeled as haram are actually halal. This app is completely unreliable. I finally write this after many cases I found. Some products are listed as halal while in fact they contain, or contain derivatives of, or in the same line production with, the non halal ingredients! This could be disastrous for people who cannot read Japanese and merely depend on this app. Please update the status, as well as add more products.
