## What is Halal Kontrol?

Halal Kontrol helps you review packaged foods and ingredients through a halal-focused evidence lens.

Use your camera, a gallery photo, barcode lookup, or ingredient search to check products and labels. Halal Kontrol highlights halal, haram, and mashbooh signals, explains ingredient concerns in plain language, and keeps your recent checks organized for quick reference.

Features:
- Scan barcodes and ingredient labels
- Review ingredient-by-ingredient reasoning
- Browse an E-number and ingredient database
- See halal, haram, and mashbooh verdicts
- Learn how rulings are informed by Quran, Hadith, madhhab guidance, certification bodies, ingredient guides, product labels, and live product evidence
- Save scan history on your device
- Use localized app experiences and screenshots

Halal Kontrol is designed as an informational food-checking companion. Ingredient sourcing can vary by region, supplier, and manufacturer, so always confirm with the product label, manufacturer, or a trusted halal authority when a decision is important.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.3.9 — 2026-09-21

We rebuilt the app as Halal Kontrol and improved the verification experience.

This update makes food photo checks more cautious, improves handling for plain whole foods and visible halal certification, and better separates ingredient-label evidence from unclear image search results.

It also includes refreshed localized App Store screenshots and small polish improvements across the app.

### 1.3.6 — 2026-09-21

No release notes.
