## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.24 — 2026-07-13

- GIMDES halal certification recognized — Products with GIMDES labels on pack (e.g. gimdes, en:gimdes) now clear the needs-halal-certificate flag on animal products, same as other recognized halal cert bodies.
- Fewer false suspicious flags on named flavors — hyphenated flavor names like Vanille-Aroma are no longer flagged as generic unspecified flavoring.
- More additives flagged as suspicious — added detection for 19 more E-numbers (emulsifiers like polysorbates, sorbitan esters, and polyglycerol esters, plus lanolin and L-cystine) across 7 languages.
- Suspicious additives/labels no longer shown as flat "not halal" — products flagged only through a suspicious additive or label (e.g. an emulsifier that may be animal-derived) now correctly show as suspicious instead of not halal.
- More accurate certificate checks — fixed a bug where a cross-language keyword mix-up could wrongly flag a product as needing halal certification; Analysis Transparency now shows which keyword and language triggered a flag.
- Fixed certificate-required badge — products confirmed as animal-derived now correctly show `Needs halal certificate` instead of `Suspicious` when an unrelated suspicious ingredient, label, or additive is also flagged.
- Community hub in app — The Community tab (formerly About) links to halalscan.at, keyword suggestions, verdict reports, GitHub source code, the developer guide, and team contact. A Contribute prompt on Home and Result opens the same hub.
- Language and account on every tab — The language picker and sign-in/account menu now appear in the app bar on Keywords, Halal Directory, Community, and Admin tabs, not just Home.

### 1.3.23 — 2026-07-01

- Edge-to-edge compliance — Fixes a Play Store warning about deprecated Android APIs; improves display on Android 15 devices.
- Keyword fix: 'manteca' (Spanish) — 'manteca de cerdo' (pork lard) is now correctly flagged as haram; bare 'manteca' and 'manteca animal' are flagged as suspicious; plant-derived forms like 'manteca de cacao' (cocoa butter), 'manteca vegetal', and 'manteca de karité' are no longer flagged.
- Broiler, fryer, piliç keywords — Added Turkish 'piliç', English 'broiler'/'fryer', and German 'Broiler' as chicken synonyms so products using these terms trigger halal cert review.
- Verdict fix: unknown ingredients — Products with no ingredient data are now correctly shown as Unknown instead of Halal.

### 1.3.22 — 2026-06-30

- Improved meat detection — Products containing chicken, beef, turkey, or other meat without a halal certificate now correctly show as not halal instead of passing as halal.
- Share analysis — Share a product's halal analysis via WhatsApp, copy link, or any app from the result screen.

### 1.3.20 — 2026-06-23

- Related guides — Flagged ingredients on the result screen now link to halalscan.at articles (e.g. natural flavour, E-numbers). Tap Read guide on any flagged item or open the related guides section.
- Admin guide links — Admins can attach halalscan.at blog slugs to any ingredient canonical (built-in or custom) in Rules; updates appear on the next scan without an app release.
- Guide card descriptions — Related guide cards now show full titles and descriptions for blog slugs managed in the database, not just a generated title.

### 1.3.19 — 2026-06-12

- EU alcohol-free labels - Products marked alcohol-free or alkoholfrei (including trace under 0.5%) are now flagged as not halal; true 0% alcohol and fatty alcohols stay excluded.
- Photo auto-approve (superadmin) - Superadmins can enable auto-approve in Admin System Settings so user photo uploads publish immediately without the manual review queue.
- Photo submission feedback — After you upload a product photo, the result screen shows a pending-review state until it is approved; duplicate uploads for the same slot are blocked.
- My contributions — Signed-in users can review all photo uploads and their status (pending, approved, rejected) from the account menu.
