Lol, but seriously as a whole this app is so close to being “it”! Only thing I wish, is that the team pages had access to more team info, articles, tweets or something just to establish more of a feed, but I will say the content it does post is not only trustworthy (unlike B/R) but more meaningful info, not to say it’s strictly sports based, but it’s not updating you what you’re coaches favorite candy is…. The feedback you get on posts, is not only more, but is usually more in depth not just attacking or telling you you’re wrong and I’m yet to see anyone be attacked or called any names which is refreshing! I was invited from B/R and have been using Halftime almost a week now and have since pretty much forgotten B/R aside from a few notifications. Everyone communicates very well and is friendly to each other. Intuitive interface, no bugs, and it’s relatively chill. If there is any downside to it, it’s the amount of users on it, but that’s a natural part of any young app that’ll go away after some time. The main difference is that the halftime community feels safer and the people are more respectful, knowledgeable and very friendly. I’ve had the app for a couple months now and am really enjoying it. Great so far. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Nice community, Nice app, But everyone there is pretty dumb *2021-04-11, version 2.3.2* There are a few smart people here and the app is made pretty nicely, but the community here is at the first stage of the Dunning-Kruger effect. If you are looking for extremely intellectual sports/basketball content, Discuss The Game is probably your best bet. Although it doesn't have live score updates like Halftime, there are chats, extremely smart individuals, easy to move around in the app, it has a website with an web-editor to make much more high-quality article, and the community on DTG is the nicest, most welcoming community I have ever been a part of. Cannot totally say the same for the Halftime community. A lot of people are full of themselves, and are not welcoming to outside ideas. they promote bullying as well, and I've seen it secondhand. The community is what brings this nicely made app down. I posted something this morning and now when I try to open it, it just sits there loading as a blank screen. I’ve restarted my phone and reinstalled the app but it still does that. I really enjoy this app and I don’t know what to do to fix it. If I could get some help that’d be great. ### 1/5 — Toxic, limits content creators *2020-11-19, version 1.3.24* For anyone trying to build a persona or some sort of following, you won’t be able to. The “follow” button is still broken, if you follow someone it won’t matter, because you still see everyone’s post even if you don’t follow them. The “content creators” limit you on the content your able to produce which isn’t good at all. You’ll “spark” some conversation here and there but that’s it. Just a conversation. If your looking to be a real basketball news source on this app, don’t waste your time. This app is just for the causal NBA FAN not NBA SOURCE. ### 2/5 — Review *2021-11-27, version 2.11.0* So close to being a very great sports app but just lacks easy things that make you scratch your head. For example, why is the nhl not on a sports app but ufc and wnba is? Also not much on the mlb. If your only a fan of basketball and football this is the app for you. As a user, I would like the ability to post GIFs. I can do this in comment replies, but not in original posts. ### 4/5 — This app is great! *2021-11-06, version 2.10.2* I just joined a few days ago and I already feel like a part of the community. You can create your own polls and make your own posts. We need to get this app more popular so there are more people but so far I’m loving it! 4 stars just because it’s obviously a fairly new app and still has some things that could be improved. This app is perfect for a hardcore sports fan, including myself(Grizzliesfan12). The people on this app are extremely friendly and I think this should be advertised at all professional sport venues. This app is great because you can hear other peoples opinions on different topics. Unfortunately, that app went under, but I feel like a lot of what they had going on worked very well for them, and I would love for this app to adopt a lot of the things that made DTG so great, such as a web editor where we are able to add tables and pictures within the post and even a format option where we’re able to use bold words and italics and all of that. There is so much potential in this app, I can see it, I just hope that every update from here on out is pointed in the right direction it’s made easier for us to post articles and grow as writers while also still enjoying fun sports-related arguments. I haven’t experienced any bug errors and interface is easy to use. I spend at least 2 hours a night talking to strangers about sports on here, and I’ve met some very cool people along the way. Don’t like getting involved with debates and just want to see the latest news? Boom! They have a News and Scores tab just for you! Like seeing created content and commenting? They’ve got Popular, Home, and Now tabs full of user-created posts! Like making posts and seeing what people think about your takes? The Create a Post button is fantastic. Want to promote your podcast or anything else sports related? You can post anything about it and hundreds of people will see it. Love actually speaking to people and debating out loud? They’ve got audio rooms that anybody can make! And finally, they have a ton of mini-games including NBA and NFL prediction picks, trivia, and more! This really is the best app I’ve ever downloaded, coming from one of the biggest sports fans on the app. Great job Halftime! 👍 ### 5/5 — Great Site *2021-12-04, version 2.11.0* At least five stars. So far, Halftime has met my expectations and more. I was extremely happy to see that most of the people on this app are intelligent when it comes to sports, and you can have real conversations with these people.
