Just your typical photoshop tools like the pencil, a vector pen, a fill paint bucket, etc. 2) There should be a tool that lets the user make his own custom pages, like, for example, the user starts of with a single box in a page. Every time they swipe their finger across the box, it divides box into different panels according to the user’s swipe. I’ve seen a similar feature used in another app called “ibisPaint X,” and it’s pretty effective for what it is. I really hope that y’all take this feedback into consideration for your next update. Unfortunately the custom templates are broken, they don’t take me to the app on the store which means it’s been removed. To justify the price of the upgraded ‘Halftone 2’ app, you did throw a lot of unnecesary bells and whistles at the user, making the app clumsy and cumbersome. The simplicity and the ergonomics of the older [original] version were highly appreciated. ### 2/5 — Can’t change image import size *2018-12-16, version 1.4.8* I have the Xs Max and the setting for image import size is not working. Hence l, it is stuck on the “medium” setting. The app also is laggy. ### 4/5 — Still crashing *2018-11-15, version 1.4.8* I love this app. Simple, but does its job well. It has been crashing lately though. Bummer. ### 5/5 — HOORAY! Finally updated for iOS 12 *2018-10-02, version 1.4.8* Halftone 2 has come a long way since the original version. You can make some pretty sophisticated-looking comics with this app. Only two things I'd suggest: give us a way to name our archived projects (they're currently given only a date, which isn't much help if you design two or more comics in one day); and let us protect our projects with a password. It'd also be nice if Halftone 2's companion app, Layout, let us design diagonal panels as well. This version has more options but everything is way more difficult to to just basic functions. Also, there are weird visual glitches interrupting the editing process now. ### 1/5 — Needs an update! *2022-03-16, version 1.4.8* This app hasn't been updated since iOS 12. It crashes when accessing text in both the border and the word balloon panes, which makes it useless. Please update it. I hate that circular control panel. Both apps crashed with the iOS update. They fixed it for 2, but I see that the original is not even available anymore. While I am still looking for a tool that will allow me to create customised figures this tool has been awesome to allow me to use it for advertising. Comic captions and a whole lot more. Update: 27th August 2022. I am finding that lately that when I try to add speech balloons to my strips that it is not allowing to manipulate them. If I try to reposition the tails they disappear and when I try to move the balloon. Honestly, I would buy it again 100 times! ### 5/5 — Suggestions *2022-05-15, version 1.4.8* I use Halftone 2 quite a bit. I enjoy creating hopefully funny cartoons to post on Facebook. On my most recent piece, I realized there was a way to to block text without a white box. A nice tool as it allows my artwork to not be completely obliterated by boxes and text. Would be nice if there was a speech balloon and thought balloon that also did that. While I was in Photos looking at both the original and the Halftone 2 versions, I noticed that the file size for Halftone 2 was much smaller than the original. Not a problem for online posting but if I wanted it printed up large, I’m sure it would be an issue. (I turn off halftone when I want “high def photo quality”.) It makes great 4x6 photos on my Kodak Dock & Wi-Fi photo printer. (I make personal reminders, reference instructions, book summary highlights, motivational inspirations, and social media postings.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🎶🎶. ### 5/5 — Best Comic Making App on the AppStore *2018-10-02* This is the best app for creating comic strips on the App Store by far. After a little to and fro with the developer of this app via email, he has fixed all the issues I had with this. For that I thank you. The only thing I have an issue with is when I uninstalled and reinstalled when I thought it might fix it, I lost quite a bit of work. By hey! It works now. Thanks Michael Swanson.
