Been with the Halifax for over 50 years. Time to move back to a real building society. The managers trashed the mutually owned building society in 1997 - making it a privately owned “bank” - to more than double their salaries. Selfish. To achieve what exactly? Destroying the best most stable secure building society in the UK. Now being closed altogether! Brilliant! The selfish pursuit of money has led the UK downhill. For starters, they sent my bank card to the wrong address when I first signed up with them which is a serious breach. They also cancel my online groceries for no reason and have blocked my card numerous times. Their staff give you conflicting advice. App is not working half the time so you can’t access it when it’s important. When you complain on the app, they close the ticket without giving you time to respond.
