We have had issues with it disconnecting from our bassinet and not allowing us to use features like - cry detection, baby specific settings - bassinet motions for more than 30 minutes. Our WiFi is not the issue! I’ve had to wake up every 30 minutes to turn the bassinet back on because my baby specific settings cannot be used unless the bassinet is connected to the app. You cannot connect to the app when it continues to crash. Why pay $500 for a fancy bassinet when the app necessary for the advertised features does not work. 0 stars from our family! 😩 ### 1/5 — Never connects *2025-10-21, version 1.2.0* Love the bassinet but it always says disconnected in the app and never works especially when I’m trying to extend the times on the sound, swivel and vibration settings. ### 1/5 — Slow to connect and frequent app crashes *2025-10-06, version 1.2.0* Going to be returning this soon if the app crashes and slow to connect to the bassinet aren’t fixed very soon. For how expensive the bassinet is, you would think they would want to put more effort into the application. Last update was 5 months ago. And we purchased it 4 months ago. Yes, you can operate the bassinet manually. But if your baby is going thru a regression and needs complete darkness?? Well you’re out of luck. Cause using any setting on the bassinet to help your baby go to sleep will have the display backlight on the entire time. Literally illuminating the entire room. Which is counterproductive in helping our baby go to sleep. I would have never spent $500 on this knowing this was going to be the outcome. It also makes a loud clicking noise when using the Swing Motion setting, always has. Now when she tries to add a secondary account it says that my account already exists, but when I try to login it asks me to connect to the BassiNest, which if I did would then disconnect my wife. Only one of us can connect now, it’s frustrating. ### 1/5 — FIX THE APP *2025-06-17, version 1.1.0* They need to fix the app it crashes every time we login. ### 1/5 — Crashes constantly, non-intuitive, no dark mode *2025-06-16, version 1.1.0* This app is barely supported and terribly designed. It crashes all the time and unreliably controls the device. Their last update was 3 months ago and they have a long way to go to getting this working adequately. Lastly, none of the design is intuitive or consistent with other apps I’ve used before. As a device meant to help babies and parents get sleep, this is a poor place to try out confusing designs where key features are hidden by long presses. My wife and I are so disappointed. ### 1/5 — One of the worst designed apps I’ve ever used *2025-05-11, version 1.1.0* Halo is desperately in need of a UX designer. The act of navigating around the app to manage functions is unintuitive - things that should be buttons are not, things that should be taps are long presses. Animations are haphazard and confusing rather than reinforcing the user’s knowledge of where they are in the interface flow. The functions themselves are also poor - slow connections, slow to refresh current state of the bassinet, often crashes out when trying to make more than a single adjustment. This app needs a LOT of work. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Wifi connection *2026-07-19, version 1.6.0* Constantly disconnecting from Wifi despite no wifi issues. Here is the exact message I receive daily. Bassinest Disconnected Please check the WIFI connection is working and that Bassinest is plugged in and connected to power. If you continue to encounter issues, you may need to reconnect to your network on the Devices screen. ### 1/5 — App stops working *2026-07-14, version 1.6.0* Love the BassiNest!! It works great for our baby, however, this app does not work. It worked for one day, and then all of a sudden won’t get passed the initial loading screen. I am seeing other reviews stating the same issue which is unfortunate given it’s such an expensive product. To be able to use the app with the bassinet costs almost an extra $100, and the app doesn’t even work. I have tried restarting the app, my phone, and deleting and redownloading the app, none of which have worked. Halo needs to do better. ### 1/5 — Trash *2026-07-05, version 1.6.0* Pure trash. If you have me writing reviews online you know the product is trash. Installed the app got to configure it. After configuration I wa sable to open the app maybe 3 times. Now it is stuck at the logo screen and does not move. Also the like the other review stated there is a clicking sound that was not there on day one. After day two the sound is annoying both the parents and baby. ### 1/5 — Won’t even let me log on now *2026-06-13, version 1.6.0* This app is a glitchy mess. Before it would crashe every once in a while. Now it won’t even show the Home Screen. Downloaded the app and uninstalled it 3 TIMES and now it won’t even let me log in with the proper email and password!! It just shows the buffering symbol ### 1/5 — A high schooler could have done better *2026-03-06, version 1.4.0* This seems like a data leak waiting to happen. Their own made a strong password doesn’t work. I left the app during setup to connect to wifi and it made me restart registration from the top. Plus it requires a firmware update that did not work even after 30 minutes. Useless ### 1/5 — App freezes at best *2025-12-30, version 1.2.0* I have to restart the app every time I open it and try any feature. And this app is not usable. I’ve uninstalled it, reinstalled it 6 times and it just keeps staying on this firmware page for 15-20 mins at a time with no change. Bassinet turns itself off over and over again when I have the app open trying to keep the vibration on til timer runs out. Many bugs. I have to open and close it 100x for it to work. HUGE waste of money for a bassinet that’s so expensive. I wouldn’t even leave one star if I had the option to leave half or zero. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Solid app, lacks multi user controller *2025-12-18, version 1.2.0* It looks like the devs patched most issues with the app. It was easy to setup, connect to WiFi and Bluetooth. One thing that is a suggestion for improvement is that only 1 user can be logged in and control the bassinet at a time. So if your significant other is doing that , you can’t. You would have to get up and manually adjust the controls . Other than that - all good ! ### 3/5 — Easy fixes could be made *2025-08-22, version 1.1.0* The app works decently, but we’d like to be able to extend the timer on the movement functions longer than two hours. Why would anyone want to wake up their kid after two hours? ### 3/5 — Firmware Update Stuck *2025-07-10, version 1.1.0* For those stuck trying to update the firmware without luck… delete the halo app off of your phone and redownload app, next restart the registration process by signing up with new email address in app and follow instructions in app again. Should work! Also app is buggy but make your changes and save, close app on phone and reopen, your settings should have saved/be active. ### 2/5 — It’s okay *2026-02-22, version 1.4.0* No trouble connecting and working with the bassinet thus far. However overall the app feels very clunky and outdated, not a streamlined user intuitive interface. There are also some design flaws: There is no way to actually turn off the timer for any of the settings even after you select to not automatically turn off. Would also like the option to turn on the auto soothing without starting a soothing preset. ### 2/5 — Don’t hit the Home button in top left corner *2025-12-30, version 1.2.0* Astonishingly simple bugs STILL present in this app, as though it was vibe coded by a drunk capuchin monkey using GPT ver. -69.0. **Don’t hit the little home button in the top left corner unless you would like your app to freeze or crash!!** Also, I’m not sure if the folks at Halo are aware, but this app appears to assume only one parent knows how to use an app. It is completely farcical that two users can’t both have complete access to the features, even if one must be the admin and the other a max-permission user. If they manage to fix these rather sad deficiencies, I’ll bump up the rating, but until then: A generous TWO stars out of FIVE. ### 2/5 — Glitches out often *2025-04-11, version 1.1.0* The app interface is designed well enough. My reason for the 2 star is that app closes itself pretty randomly and frequently while trying to use. I also had to reconnect the bassinet to my network twice in the first 5 min. I know this item is very new so some of the kinks need to be worked out.
