So the only reason I keep it is because I get my notifications of my grades and any messages on my phone. It barely displays your current classes and overall is buggy and confusing. They should have spent more time in Beta to iron out the issues. Out of nowhere the app completely stopped loading and opening. When I click on the app it just stays on the purple Halo Learn screen and the app never loads. For students out of state this is a huge barrier. I went to a local college for an undergrad and their apps were 1000x better. I get notifications for graded assignments and announcements but the actual app won’t open. I have to log into my account via safari and it’s just inconvenient. Not to mention the lack of notifications for what really matters (assignment and dq reminders/due dates). GCU has way too many resources and individuals who are great in tech to be allowing this app to plummet. Instead of messaging professor because on that assignment feedback I'd have to explain in message instead of on feedback Other than that I love Gcu ### 5/5 — Changed my College Experience *2025-06-29, version 1.0.1* This app has changed everything about online learning. As an online student before this app I was never aware if my grades were submitted or if the professor posted an announcement unless I went through the whole process of logging in through a browser and viewing it that way. Now I get a notification and can view the grade or message through the app! Every online student needs this ### 5/5 — Great app! *2025-06-02, version 1.0.0* I’ve seen so many negative reviews on this app and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. Instead of checking every few hours to see if a grade is posted or if I have received a reply from a professor on a direct message, I can now receive notifications! While the learn tab still links to the online webpage I don’t mind at all. I love it and I think it was a great idea! ### 5/5 — Great for notifications *2025-05-26, version 1.0.0* For what it is, it does a great job. It allows me to be notified on my phone when important things happen in class. And when i click on those notifications, it takes me to those items in Halo so I can see and interact with them. It doesn’t, however, let me use Halo in full… but i’d rather do that on my computer anyway. ### 4/5 — Finally!! *2025-06-30, version 1.0.1* I really like the notification part of the app. I would suggest an option for students to receive notifications of an assignment that’s coming up/due that day or for online students, reminder to submit a substantive post if they haven’t done all three. Halo is accessible through the app you just have to go through alerts which is slightly annoying. Also the app randomly shuts down and keeps signing me out.
