A NEW ICON — AND FOUR MORE TO CHOOSE FROM Halo has a new home screen icon. If you'd rather have a different one, there are now five to pick from in Settings — including the original, kept as Classic. Choose one and your home screen updates straight away. SWIPING THROUGH VIDEOS IS SMOOTH NOW Paging between videos in the viewer could stutter, and the bigger the video, the worse it got. Halo now loads a video once the page has settled instead of during the swipe, and lets go of the ones you've moved past rather than holding every video you've looked at. Long folders of 4K clips stay smooth from the first swipe to the last. Everything still happens on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing leaves your device. ### 1.2 — 2026-08-28 WE FOUNDED SOME BUGS AND FIXED ALL OF IT. Halo used to group photos by file size and dimensions, which meant unrelated shots could end up sitting side by side. It now compares the pictures themselves — every candidate is fingerprinted on your iPhone and only real matches are grouped. Nothing leaves your device. NEW: SIMILAR PHOTOS The run of nearly identical shots of one moment, found the same way and grouped together, with the best one kept for you and the rest ready to go. There's a speaker button on the deck and a switch in Settings if you'd rather they stayed quiet. FIXES • Tapping a photo in a grid could open the one below it after scrolling • Leaving Swipe to Clean with photos still marked threw the whole pile away without warning — Halo now asks first • The video compression progress bar didn't move until each video finished, and its total shifted part-way through • A video's scrubber was hidden underneath the info bar • Videos paused a second after you swiped to them • Freed-space figures now account for deleted items sitting in Recently Deleted for 30 days • Granting photo access in iOS Settings and coming back now refreshes straight away instead of needing a relaunch ### 1.01 — 2026-07-17 Free up massive storage instantly!
