Its an absolute chore to download any footage as you have to scroll through hundreds of 1-3 clips to find an incident - thats IF it even downloads when tou try -unless you do it almost instantly and kind of guess from the thumbnail which one it might be. Other camera apps have a time and date scrubbing tool to find the moments you want/need. I mean, you have to scroll down and let pages upon pages buffer to get to where you want snd when you finally get to it and press download it stop half way through a lot and you often have to try several times! So frustrating especially when you have front and rear as its double the amount if clips. Download speed is pretty sluggish too. Then theres the settings, you can change the G-sensor sensitivity but its for all modes; i cant, for example have a parking mode G sensor on max for when people hit my door and dent my car with their door but I need g-sensor to be on low for when Im driving as I dont want it to emergency record every speed bump and pothole! Already the camera is randomly saying “emergency recording started” when im just driving - and that’s when the G-sensor is set to low!! ### 1/5 — Zero stars *2025-06-08, version 1.0.2* The app does not connect to the dash cam. Fortunately the dashcam is so insecure I am able to use my laptop to connect to it as root administrator. To sell expensive dash cams that rely on a cheap, buggy, underdeveloped horrendous app like this makes you wonder whether those in the Road Angel marketing team and technology team need to be sacked. I’d go so far as to say you should buy a different product from a different provider because the app experience is so unbelievably bad that you’ll wish you’d never heard of Road Angel, never mind that you bought one. The app crashes anytime you want to use it so is effectively pointless. Then states there is no camera added! Glitch! Tried it on 3 of our family iPhones, an 8, 11 and 14 with zero compatibility apart from the Wifi link. Do not buy a Road Angel Camera if you have an iPhone and to cap it all off, the developer of this App does not track reviews!! It functions that’s about it, needs work to make connecting your phone and retrieving data/adjusting settings easier and more fluid, I don’t wanna keep having to disconnect and reconnect to the dash cam WiFi until the app finally wakes up and responds… some more updates needed to get this app abit more efficient ### 2/5 — Use this app not the other one *2026-02-15, version 1.0.3* Errr spent an hour today using the other road angel app but just wasn’t connecting. Luckily found via a forum that this app is the correct one and tbf it did get it work and I could set it up. Its very slow and doesn’t keep you logged in so you constantly so you have to faff with the built in wifi in order to see your footage and photos after driving constantly. What I don’t understand is how this company justifies selling their products for hundreds of pounds and even extortionate subscription fees and they can’t even build a stable app. A dash cam should just be plugged in and connects straight to your device when logged in. It works for so many other things.
