Ham Radio Exam Preparation for the Extra Class license. QUESTION POOL Study the complete pool of questions and answers that can appear n the amateur radio Extra class license exam. The questions and answers are the exact questions published by the FCC. All questions are multiple choice. PROFICIENCY See your proficiency for each of the topics you study. Ham Extra tracks your proficiency for you so you always know how you are doing. AUTO CORRECT When you select a wrong answer, Ham Extra shows you the correct answer. This immediately draws your attention to the correct answer. Turn of Auto Correct on the Setting page if you don't want it. SHUFFLE ANSWERS When you take the exam, the multiple choice answers may appear in any order. Ham Extra randomly select the order for the answers so you do not associate an answer to a question by its position in the list of answers. Turn this off on the Settings page if you want the answers to always appear in the same order. SHUFFLE QUESTIONS Sometimes an answer may be easier to answer because the previous question provided hints to the current question. Go to the Settings page and turn on Shuffle Questions so that the questions within a topic appear in random order. STUDY BY WEAKNESS As you study, Ham Extra tracks the questions that you fail to answer the most. I love that I can use it offline, and that I can cycle through my incorrect answers after a test or that they’ll return to me in flash card mode, but I really would like it to sync across devices, and for test results to factor into weakness ratings. Ham General removed ads and in-app purchase some time ago. ### 5/5 — This app is a "Digital Elmer"! *2013-06-09* I was originally licensed in 1967 as a Tech and worked my way up the ladder to become an Advanced. I really had to work hard and struggle through several handbooks and literature to attain this goal! Plus also had to learn Morse Code, which I actually miss... (Fast forward through college, jobs, marriage and life's other issues and I discovered I had let my license lapse in 2001.) Now age 65 and in-firmed, I wasn't able to get out to Ham classes. Luckily I was given an iPad2 when hospitalized a few years ago. After doing a lot of research I discovered this terrific app! It let me review my problem areas and had everything broken down into user-friendly sections. Using the current database of VEC questions, I was easily able to learn what I needed to know and, of course could also look on the Internet for formulae used in all the calculations necessary for the modern Amateur, and flip right back to this app! After studying with my iPad and this Extra Class study app, I passed my Extra afetr one month of study and review. I honestly would recommend this app to anyone interested in becoming an Extra... Along with some other study tools, this app definitely helped build confidence. ### 5/5 — This works! *2012-12-09* With the help of this app, I was able to pass the extra exam in two weeks. The app showed me where my weaknesses were and I corrected them. A great app tool to study anywhere. ### 5/5 — Excellent program *2012-08-26* This is the best program I have seen for extra license test. It utilizes an approach that allows you to efficiently use your study time. As you study you immediately learn the correct answer. It is best to work on the small units until you achieve at least 90% success, adding one new unit at a time. There are a lot of units, but this is a larger test with a larger test pool. Every possible question is here. It gives the correct answer-be careful there is one program out there that actually states the wrong answer is correct! If you want to have explanations you need something additionally. The best I have found is ARRL's kindle version, but it doesn't allow you to simulate test taking like this app. This is a needed supplement or standalone app. I don't have iPad, so I would like to have laptop Mac laptop version for home study.
