Very well done. The only thing I wish was different is that in the recommended questions area, selecting the question does nothing. It would be very helpful to have it open up the question instead of having to navigate back and open up the question elsewhere. Studying vs testing. I also liked that I could easily see the entire testing pool and study for specific areas/sections. I liked the ability to view all the questions in the pool with the correct answers. Suggestions for improvement: Would like to have the ability to select an answer and submit with two separate actions to prevent accidentally touching an undesired answer, or to review all of your answers before submitting, as you have with the real, paper exam. Would like the option to see the the questions in the pool along with the correct answers *without* seeing any of the incorrect answers to focus on and memorize the correct answers and avoid getting the incorrect ones into your head. ### 5/5 — Most effective way to prepare for the actual exam *2020-06-06, version 1.3.6* This app is architected excellent to be fast through the questions in multiple ways, and help to focus in on the ones you need to be prepared. More expedient than web site based implementations. Strong recommend. Use this with the ARRL exam manual, and sprinkle in a few web searches to flesh out things to get a more tangible image and understanding will get you there. 35/35. ### 5/5 — Great Test Preparation *2020-04-27, version 1.3.6* Nearly perfect! Seriously the only change I would make would be to lengthen the right/wrong feedback when choosing an answer by one second. This app does not teach or explain the material, but it does a fantastic job of preparing one to pass the test. ### 4/5 — Excellent study App *2020-03-27, version 1.3.6* This was an excellent study app. Had everything needed to properly study for the general exam test. Worked flawlessly until I had to do a hard reset on my iPad due to freezing and other issues. Since then all I can do is open up the app, tap on either take test sample or section quiz and the app just crashes. Please help!! I have tried others but this app’s layout and features make it superior to others I have tried. There is only one item in Settings - clear database of user data. Please include a second setting where the user can select immediate feedback if that is there preference. I downloaded the general version and unfortunately it no longer works after the most recent update. I’m not able to use this app. It crashes immediately after I click on the practice exam link. This was an awesome app and it upsets me that I am no longer able to use it. The study correct answers feature works, just the practice test crashes it. I’m using an iPhone 13 pro. ### 2/5 — Great app with a fatal flaw *2020-08-27, version 1.3.6* TL,DR: Please fix sample test question randomizing algorithm!! This app (the Tech, and assuming Extra versions) are so close to being perfect. It is simple and only does what you need! The flaw: the algorithm used to pick questions for Sample Tests disproportionately picks some questions over others. This must be addressed, as many will be unknowingly prepared for the test. This makes a nearly perfect app useless if it can’t perform it’s most important function (yet should be fundamentally easy to fix). For example during studying for TE, I was consistently getting >93% over many-many practice tests. When I took the official test, close to 2/3 of the questions never/rarely showed up in my practice tests. I luckily passed with 77%. This left me feeling strangle unprepared. Now studying for General, I got this app. But this time I have been more aware and again noticing that some questions show up almost every time in the practice test. To counter this, I started taking tests on HamStudy.org. Sure enough, I am seeing many questions I haven’t seen on this app. ### 2/5 — Good app but... *2019-09-30, version 1.3.5* Why haven’t you updated the General yet? It’s been out of date since June 30th. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2016-08-29, version 1.3.2* The question/answer section works fairly well, however the settings menu along with any of the other menus aren't working with 9.3.4 or 9.3.5. Please fix this!!! ### 2/5 — A few bugs *2016-07-27, version 1.3.2* First - when viewing a question you answered incorrectly at the end of a sample test, the frame of the view is not adjusted to the navigation bar, so the top gets cut off. The view is also not embedded in a scroll view, or if it is, the system doesn't think it needs to scroll because of the size of the view. You can fix this in interface builder. Second - choosing to view "take a test" should take you to a web view I assume, but nothing loads. If a web view is in this view, you should put up a spinner in the navigation bar to let people know it's loading. Passed General with 100%, missed one on Extra. Very helpful for reviewing test questions along with taking sample tests. Doesn’t provide subject matter, just test questions and answers. Used hamtestonline for study guide and bought the test prep books for reference materials.
