I studied with the ARRL manual and this app and passed the first try. It’s crazy. I love this app and it has built in features like the Callsign search! I used these study guides exclusively studying for the test. Passed all three with flying colors. Study the questions, take the practice test to see how you are doing and before you know it you'll be ready. The tests are plotted and give you a log of the missed questions so you can look them up. The BAD some of the equations are not entered right. But the rest is solid. Using this alone you can def get the Tech Cert. I will use this and the others to take on Gen/Extra for sure! ### 5/5 — Helped me pass exam on my first attempt *2022-11-13, version 1.5.1* I took a Zoom Ham Radio operators prep class, which helped me with the basic language/terminology. Our instructor advised to download a prep app and I chose this one. I started taking the sample exams about a week ago and was feeling so defeated as I was only scoring 50-60%. I kept at it though and a few more sample exams I was scoring consistent 80%, and even higher as the week went on. I passed my exam yesterday on my first attempt and only missed 3 questions. After doing the practice exams over and over, when I did the real one, the answers jumped right out at me. I was done with the test within probably 10 minutes. The sample exam questions are word for word what I saw on the official exam. Making me think i was ready to take the test. When i took the test it was full of questions i didnt recognize, because your app shows the same easy questions over again, instead of tricky ones that are more necessary to study. Many, many of the test questions in this app were on my test. But some questions asked did not have the same answer pool. I used this a lot but I found a few questions that had some different choices. It should be noted the question pool is up to 500. The test I took was built in Feb 2022. So if you think you can wing it go for it, but I would recommend just getting the book. However the sample tests are not random enough. Too many repeat questions and some questions are never asked. I have taken the sample test numerous (and I mean numerous) times and have never been asked certain questions that appear on the section quizzes. I downloaded a different app for more comprehensive testing, but still use this app for the section quiz as I find it more intuitive. I bought the ARRL study book and read through it. Then I used this app to take about 300 practice tests over a 7-8 day period. Easy to use, practice test to check your progress, with incorrect answers shown so you can work on those a little more. Three separate apps, technician, general and extra. I started out to just get the tech license and it went so well with the app, I decided to go for the general as well. Still had a couple of weeks before test time so i said what the heck might as well go for all three. And I passed all three at one testing. I only used these apps, reading through all the questions a couple of times a day only focusing on the correct answers. I limited my study time to about 20 to 30 minutes per session, any longer and I would lose focus. Very hapoy with the apps, don’t know that I could have gotten all three in such a short time without using these. There are other apps and also online study guides, these are the ones I ended up with. I did try online and a couple of other apps, but these just seemed perfect for me. Plus they are free.
