## What is HAM Test Prep?

Includes the Technician Question Pool effective July 1, 2026!

Join the amateur radio community!  Become a HAM by obtaining your Technician class license!

Amateur Radio License exams are composed of questions from a pool.  Use this application prior to taking your exam to review and practice all possible questions.  Then, test your knowledge with practice exams!

After completing your first practice exam, the question pool screen will display your proficiency in each question group for all practice exams you have completed.  This will identify areas in which you need further practice.

You may choose to receive immediate feedback on right and wrong answers when taking a practice test.  On practice tests, questions in a group will not be repeated until all of them have been used.

Some questions require you to review associated Figures.  These figures may be zoomed and panned on iPhone/iPod touch.

FCC rule text is viewable within the application.  All sections can be browsed from the main screen.  Additionally, for questions where rule sections have been identified, the rule text can be viewed on the question screen when studying the question pool or reviewing test results.

An in-progress practice test can be resumed if you exit the test or the application.

Current Technician question pool is valid through June 30, 2030.

Versions of this application for both the General and Extra license classes are also available.

I purchased the app on the recommendation of a good friend who used it for exam preparation and it was worth the money! I studied for a couple of weeks before the exam and I received an excellent score! I used both the Technician and General exam prep apps and I took both exams today, back to back and passed both with great results. I just purchased the Amateur Extra app for the exam next month. I highly recommend this app!

This app got me to pass technician test 30/35 questions with really poor study habits. It has a unique way of doing green orange red scoring for parts of the test you’re not as good at incentivizing better performance. Awesome well worth the paid version.

This app is very well designed. It is worth every penny!  The structure is well thought out.  The % proficiency that shows in each section after you take practice exams is amazing and an incredible feature!  I will use this for my future license upgrades for sure. . . Though I’d like to see a discount on the upgrades after purchasing previous elements. Other than that I think it’s an amazing app. The last 16 practice tests are over 90% and I feel confident I’ll pass the test when I take it in a few days!  

A word of advice: start by going through ALL of the question pool questions. Then move onto practicing ALL of the question pool questions, THEN take the practice tests. Don’t jump ahead to practice tests after reading a book through section 4 and going through a few question pool practices. Take the time to see every question in the pool, then run through practicing every question in the pool and THEN take the practice test. The app is ordered that way for a reason. Use it that way and you’ll get better results quicker than if you try to jump ahead. I was able to slightly jump ahead due to electronics knowledge from making my own circuit boards, but after that, I really had to make sure to see every question. This app is amazing for that. . . Use it that way and you’ll have great success!
