### 3/5 — Was great when it was more vigorously maintained

*2026-01-10*

It’s understandable that people move on and do different things. I have used the great tool for years, and have enjoyed it, but it is now 2026 and the last update occurred in 2023. QRZ has perhaps modified some things that result in an annoying error every time I start to enter a new contact. It slows me down when the band conditions are good and I’m making contacts. The remaining tools are light weight enough and useful, so I plan to keep this around for those features , but I’m looking for a new logger.

### 4/5 — No easy Import

*2025-10-14*

I bought the app as I was looking for a way to view and edit ADI(F) files stored locally on iPhone/iPad. The description says you can import, but when I tried there‘s actually no way to import locally stored log files (I generate and export through iFTx, before uploading to Wavelog from my device I‘d get a chance to view and edit, that’s what I was looking for). You can only import log files stored on a Web Server or from your Mac - but in that case I can just view and edit on my Mac right away.

Apart from that a great app with lots of features and tools for a very reasonable price!

### 2/5 — Call sign search will not work

*2024-05-14*

Call sign search feature when adding new contact , and also under tools, does not function

### 2/5 — Too many usability issues and bugs

*2023-11-01*

Might be ok for simple logging but not good for SOTA and probably POTA too. The custom templates for these activities don’t work with a phone in dark mode. The font and the background are both black so you can’t read your input. Also there doesn’t appear to be a way to delete a custom log so now I have several useless test logs. Finally, I can cause the app to crash constantly by trying to delete the 0th log entry.

### 4/5 — It’s good. Will not create CABRILLO file.

*2022-02-28*

Hello,

I keep hoping that an upgrade ill come along that lets the app create CABRILLO files. That seems to be any contest that I am in wants. They don’t accept ADIF files anymore and trying to make a Cabrillo format file drives me crazy. Please create the ability to make and export Cabrillo files. I cannot use this app until it does.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work for POTA

*2022-01-21*

I wanted this app to work for me. I really liked the functionality of the app but when I tried to upload the log to Parks on the Air it got rejected. The ADIF file does not include the Band field which is required by POTA. This makes it unusable for me.

### 3/5 — iOS 14 email

*2020-09-21, version 5.112*

Doesn’t work if you don’t have the default Apple Email app installed. Can this be updated please.

### 3/5 — heart broken

*2020-09-16*

I was very excited when I heard about Hamlog. I am really in to Parks On The Air.

I don’t like lugging a laptop to the field, so when I found out that this app Supports POTA logging and ADIF export I could wait to try it out.

It turns out that Hamlog crashes on my iPad as soon as you attempt any export.

Email to the developers is unanswered, the documentation is ten years.

Hamlog has tremendous potential, if the original dev doesn’t want to support it I wish he would pass it on to someone who will maintain it.

😢😢

### 5/5 — Ham Log

*2020-09-11*

Thank You,I use it all the time. Keeps getting better. Still true. 2020
Most excellent,73

### 2/5 — Cannot export...

*2020-08-04*

Maybe no longer supported.??

### 3/5 — Doesn’t update databases

*2020-07-11, version 5.112*

The lookup data isn’t updated. For example call sign lookup is out of date and doesn’t update.

### 5/5 — Great support!

*2020-06-16*

I have very limited experience with the app so I'll have to report back later after I've used it a little more. That said however, I initially had a QRZ XML Error issue but I contacted the developer and received a reply within hours with a simple workaround (hint: don't use special characters in your QRZ password). Seems like it will be a good app for portable logging and it comes with super support.

### 2/5 — Major Flaws

*2020-03-21, version 5.112*

I really want to be able to use this. But ever time I try logging in to QRZ or HamQTH on it, it doesn’t accept my log in. Wrote support a week ago and no reply. Looking for a replacement

### 4/5 — Simple logger with useful tools

*2019-09-21, version 5.112*

I saw the review mentioning problems with the times in the log entries. I don’t get this problem and so maybe the issue is now fixed. The default time on an entry is UTC and it isn’t changed when editing. There is a minor formatting bug with the Grid to Map tool but otherwise this seems a solid app.

There are four improvements I would like:

1. Allow the user to define the values shown in the log list.
2. Allow the user to specify single row log list entries.
3. Increase the size of the Notes field when entering/editing log entries.
4. Include contest features such a la qrz.com log entries.

Good app!

### 5/5 — Best Overall Ham App

*2019-09-08*

Everything you might need in one place. I highly recommend this app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — DOA

*2025-04-01, version 5.113*

It is non-functional. Help goes to an Error 404 page. Developer contacted who did respond but no change yet.

### 1/5 — Broken since iOS 17.1

*2023-11-06, version 5.113*

Formatting and layout in many views have been been broken since the update to iOS 17.1 and no one has responded to email bug reports.

### 1/5 — Server Down

*2022-06-26, version 5.112*

Some of the tools functionally seems to depend on a server, which is down. If this is temporary I will update the review.

### 1/5 — Right support?

*2020-09-27, version 5.112*

I understand that this is a less than a US dollar app. However, they never responded to my request for support. In an iPad, error of connection to QRZ.com (and yes, I am subscribed) it shows up every time I try to open the log and try to log a contact. So, this app works just as a glorified spread sheet without the data base capabilities of it. Sorry, I don’t see the point. Moving on ... one US Dollar less!

### 1/5 — Waste

*2019-10-28, version 5.112*

Paid for the app only to find out the shop has been closed. If I had known that I wouldn’t have paid for the app. Now to try an figure out how to get a refund

### 1/5 — App seems to be abandoned

*2018-10-31, version 5.112*

They still accept payment for the app but don’t respond to support emails. Tried for support twice, once to the email in the app and again from the website, no response from either.

### 1/5 — Will not sync to cloud

*2016-12-24, version 5.002*

I will change my review once it is fixed.

### 1/5 — 2016.01.20 update

*2016-01-24*

The application is closing in a few seconds. Pse kill the bug.

### 1/5 — Just won't work?

*2015-02-07*

I bought this a while ago and now I just get a blank black screen.... I'm sure I could write an app to give me a black screen without paying for it :(

### 1/5 — Fix import/export adif

*2014-01-19*

Please fix import/export adif file. I can't export adif file into eqsl.cc without errors. Why I must manually editing this file ?
When I import adif into log via url programm stop working. Why ?
Why did you write such bug software ?
Bad guys.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Ancient Reviews

*2025-05-06*

The Reviews are ancient, 10 years or more and there have been so many updates since then . This is May 2025 now. Check the log and tools screen shots to find so many useful tools, I often use the Clock, log, Location, call sign lookup when operating HF portable and POTA and when Adjusting the field antenna it is helpful to have the 1/4 & 1/2 wavelength dimensions.

### 5/5 — More than I expected.

*2023-12-13*

Not only logs but also includes a bunch of useful tools.
No fluffy interface. Just works.
Thanks!

### 5/5 — Amazing portable log

*2023-10-23, version 5.113*

I am using it since it was born. I was waiting for this last update. Welcome back!!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-02-20*

This app just fits the bill when it comes to logging away from home. It has a lot of features, including QRZ lookup. I gave it five stars and that’s before you think about it’s value for money.

### 5/5 — It’s a must have!!

*2023-01-04*

Great! You only pay once which is nice. The only problem is when you press the + to make a new contact it automatically fills the names and callsign spaces with the last contact you made. Otherwise it is really good! It is US centred but that is per the norm.(I am in Canada) I would say this is the best ham logging app I could find! $1.39 is not alot for this good of an app!

### 5/5 — Überraschend Umfangreich

*2022-06-16*

Da hat sich jemand echt Mühe gegeben. So viel nützliches in einer Ham App habe ich bislang nicht erlebt. Es erspart mir echt viele Recherchen im Netz. Vielen Dank fürs programmieren.

### 5/5 — Handy and working and Free and No Ad

*2021-10-26, version 5.112*

5 star rating. I have used this app to log my QSOs for a few months. Very handy and easy to use. With it, I don’t need to keep a computer around my radio. Also, it’s very easy to export ADIF through email, then to LOTW, QRZ and eQSL…

Most of the little tools are good too. Although I haven’t tried all of them.

 Great work! Great App!

Did I mention it’s free and no ads?

### 5/5 — Super App

*2021-09-15*

Das tolle ist, dass man die Felder selber konfigurieren kann. Jetzt habe ich endlich etwas für Flora und Fauna konfiguriert

### 5/5 — Hamlog Excellent

*2020-10-07, version 5.112*

I use Hamlog for all my portable work. It lets you set up your own fields which is great for operations like POTA. Lots of extras!

### 5/5 — Great for portable operation

*2020-09-15*

This Log program has everything you would need for logging calls portable or even as your main log program. QRZ lookup, importing and exporting to other logging programs. Very fast quick logging in a pileup. Loads of tools ... Dx Cluster, Grid Sq lookup and much more.
