My only complaint is that the game skill locks you at a certain point. The crossbow with explosive bolts and recovery from misfired shots is the most OP situation in the game. You gain access to it pretty early and it DOMINATES the game. You keep going after that level creep and power creep but unlocking “better” stuff just handicaps you. I’ve played through several runs and NOT unlocking extra abilities helps you. I went on a run and smashed like 230 levels in one run using rather basic perks. I started unlocking endgame perks and it actually made the game SIGNIFICANTLY harder. A challenge is always welcome but it’s unbalanced. That said, the soundtrack is amazing, it’s a great game. Just wish the end game unlocks were worth it rather than crippling you. ### 4/5 — No Longer Supported! *2023-05-05, version 1.22* I’ve had this game for years now, but upon playing it again after a long while I have discovered support for it has ceased as indicated by the map no longer fitting on my iPhone (it used to). Simple premise and controls, fun gameplay, an infinitely replay-able. There are lots of problems, though. Getting new weapons is counterproductive; you only get up to 3 weapon slots, so more different weapons means less chance of getting already-equipped weapons from chests. Boss rooms let you grind for weapon ammo infinitely, which isn’t good. The upgrade system needs better scaling, and a better menu. Jumping has a good chance of putting the camera closer to the floor, and eventually through it; jump as little as you can, because it’s a soft-lock. The secret room with waves of enemies is a waste of health and ammo, so don’t go into them. This game is really old, so there isn’t any iPhone X support, and the farthest side of the mini-map is cropped off. The “start from later stage” option is a terrible idea, since if said stage is stage 27, like mine, there are too many enemies, and barely any weapons, so good luck surviving two stages at that point. All of these technical and logical problems, and easy exploits, stop me from rating this game higher. Go to the shop and tap the "Get free coins" text. 2. Watch the ad for 100 coins and then once you receive the coins exit the app. 3. Quickly launch the app again and go to the shop as fast as you can and repeat step 2. 4. If you did the trick fast enough, the ad will not have time to load and you will receive 100 coins immediately. It doesn’t matter which weapon you are holding and using, the player still gets injured! I died while using my weapon from getting injured while using the weapon once too often! However, there seems to be a long form unskippable ad after every time you die. This can become grating when you get to level 100 or higher. All you do is turn corners until you find the exit while dodging extremely difficult to see traps I mean difficult to see because of bad game design you can't look down so you only see a small corner of the trap. The monsters die in one hit that is if you managed to find one of the weapons that you rarely get that also break in one hit. The command recognition is absolutely appalling. I cannot count how many times it either hasn't registered a clear swipe of the screen or has incorrectly registered it. I never had these problems in the past & it enrages me. It was nice to include an option to continue where I left off, but it would be nicer if the option was any use at all. Instead, my game restarts every single damn time I spend a ridiculous amount of time working up the stages and decide to take a break. It also has great enemies and challenging boss battles too. But my favorite thing is the music, It really fits the game’s levels and the theme in general of like exploration. My only problem is that whenever there are levels with cracked walls there are no bombs and the only time I get bombs are not near cracked walls. But this is just a minor problem. I also really like the money cat in the menu too.
