### 5/5 — Richtig cool! 😎

*2024-08-26*

### 5/5 — Any chance we may see this on Mac?

*2024-07-01*

Man, I love this machine! Love playing with it on iOS but keep jonesin for it when I’m making tunes on the Mac as well. Any chance we may we this on Intel Mac in the future? Couple of other Bram’s apps have snuck into the Mac store, hoping this might be next!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2023-12-31*

Perhaps my most used drum machine on iOS simply because it doesn’t require additional midi apps to play and sync with the rest of my AUM set up.

Feature request: Please, if at all possible, under the pitch control, please show note designation (i.e. A, C, G, etc) corresponding to the pitch selected. This will save a lot of time with matching the drum to the harmony with other instruments instead of trying to do it all by ear.

### 5/5 — Real nice

*2023-12-05*

Very nice drum machine, easy to catch on and make some beats with. I use it with my guitar so I can try to make some good drum tracks with it, fun to fiddle around with when bored too.

### 5/5 — without Bram , the ios would seem to getting lost in the void! The Best!

*2023-11-25*

The best developer, the best patronizer, the best dedicated and most sincere and the best creative developer ever.

if you dont get these apps ( except gauss, i still dont know how to use this) the later you buy them the more youll regret my dear friend.

Bram Bos'creations would fasten your workflow you wont be able to imagine.

Respect!!!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Still a very good drummer

*2023-11-04, version 1.0.8*

Simple, efficient and work perfectly. Easy UI I use it always with pleasure.

### 5/5 — Had the original years ago

*2023-10-31*

I had the original many years ago and I used it all the time. It’s there on some of the many Duran Duran records I engineered back in the nineties. I migrated from Roland drum machines and Hammerhead just worked for me. I’ve bought it because it made me smile back then and unlike everything else it didn’t stop working when Windows 2000 or XP or 7 came out and I even made it work on my Mac. Sure there was other stuff around trackers and the like ported from Atari and Amiga but this had such a gritty character and was superb for working out beats on a laptop on airplanes. I could go on to say the youth of today don’t know how spoiled they are but it would make me sound old and ungrateful. This software was just so simple and worked in the same way as the drum machines I grew up with. Roland DR55 TR606 TR909 etc. I’m buying it to start smiling again. I love that it’s AUv3 it will be fun to integrate it with Ableton and BitWig. It would be amazing if it spits out MIDI but I don’t really care what it does I just wanted to support the software author for making me smile all these years!

### 5/5 — Integrity, Dignity, Passion and admiration for artists

*2023-08-07*

I've been trying to make a list of the developers in iOS , the list would only include the most sophisticated and elegant, in addition uncompromising mind set.

Bram Bos, stays in that list at the very top

A friendly suggestion: If you're in doubt, don't buy his creations, by the time you'll be aware of those apps potential and remarkable performance, you'd only regret, regret, for not having these apps.

Definite Hall of Famer.

### 5/5 — Awesome Groovebox

*2023-06-20*

This app is amazing - I love the fast and hands on groove creation. Really gets you going. The options to tweak the patterns and sounds are amazing and playing with the pattern settings give some really creative results (Polyrhythms, playing with the sample start etc)

What I would love to see though is some improvements of the user interface especially for live performance. For example in the mixer channel, the mute buttons are somewhat hard to tap (reliable) sometimes and an option to „slide across to mute“ multiple tracks with one gesture would be nice.

Also the (upper) knobs are somewhat hard to tune. What I would also love within the app would be an basic eq for each sound (high pass / low pass) and an option to alter the attack of the sounds. In my opinion, the „Chan. Config“ button should not make the pattern settings (velocity etc) disappear.

These are only minor flaws as the app is in my opinion perfect as it is.

### 5/5 — great app

*2023-03-31*

Really super this "rhythm shark", as usual for Bram Bos apps…;) Multibus output! Awesome feature… It would be nice to repeat the several patterns like this is possible in other Rozeta-apps, eg Rozeta Cells: go to pattern…

### 5/5 — Intuitive Drum Synth

*2023-02-23*

Certainly the best drum machine for iOs I know of(though I don t know the other bram bos drum synths yet). You can easily create your very own crazy drum sounds because it isn t just a drum machine but a drum synth.Love it! Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Believe the hype!

*2022-11-18*

For some reason I was reluctant to get this. I went through a ton of drum apps and sequencers. A lot of them were very good, but I never really immediately clicked with a single one. This one was different, I immediately got to work! It’s really great and a lot of fun! Check it out! I guess it’s stood the rest of time for a reason.

### 5/5 — Yes

*2022-09-12, version 1.0.8*

It is awesome!

### 5/5 — Worth every penny

*2022-08-27*

This spectacular rhythm machine is a beat makers friend. Just so many features. Use their sounds, make your own, samples, just so much. Get into the settings and explore. Bran Bos makes the best apps. Just another monster here. Get it.

### 5/5 — Made with love and ideal for jamming

*2022-07-13*

A classic - made with love. Great sounds, easy to use and still plenty of options (specially in a live jam setup).

### 5/5 — Yes! That‘s a drum machine with the bass I searched for!

*2022-06-19*

I was not happy with Garage band nor Cubasis drum machine according the Bass for electronic music.
I tried to adjust my bass with Equalizer….. forget it.
I bought „AR 909“ by Audiokit, it is a nice, but limited, drum machine/sequencer, which works not so good with Garage band as I expected.
Hammerhead, it works very well with Garage band in some tracks. One can edit the tracks afterwards in Garage band (midi).
It works very well with my own synthetic adjusted drums and my sequences.
You can make your own drums with a Synthesizer or by sound import. Or you choose one from the many drum machines!

I can say: I love this app!

### 4/5 — ❤️but needs more

*2024-02-09*

Pls add at least 32step sequences maybe 16 per page formatted option in a future update or as inter app purchase and this would make so many ppl happy

Glitches and randomization on the full kit only is basic here. most of the fun of these sequencing apps would be to have control over setting locking randomization parameters on each sound individually.. we’re in the 2020s now.. ive assumed most drum pattern programmers had most their fun expressing themselves exploring finer tunedness of their own idiosyncrasies. ive got this app assuming it’d be more fun here :(( expanding upon skimming through and setting different randomization states would be great please consider my request when u have the time

### 4/5 — Ableton Link please !

*2022-09-03, version 1.0.8*

Perfect, sounds great and nostalgic. I’d give it a 5 but it has no Ableton Link.

### 4/5 — Dommage

*2021-10-07*

### 4/5 — ❤️but BASIC

*2021-06-30, version 1.0.2*

Glitches and randomization on the full kit only is too basic here.

### 5/5 — Personal favorite

*2026-02-21*

Easy to use, modify, and create with. Lots of presets for kicks, hats, and snares (among other drum heads too). Built in breaks (amen, Apache, think, funky drummer,…). Drum synth is good too. Killer like all Bram Bos apps

### 5/5 — Incredible Rhythm Maker

*2025-09-25*

This is the best thing there is in the AppStore for music! Thank you for bringing back Hammerhead and to the iPad world. I used the PC version in the early 2000s and was such a fanboy.. cannot wait to play with this newly designed interface as well. Loving it already. Kudos!!

### 5/5 — 2025 still my go to drum machine

*2025-07-31, version 1.2.2*

Nothing beats hammerheads workflow. Incredible multi-genre presets.

Hammerhead is the best.

### 5/5 — Easy to use! 🙌🏼

*2025-07-10*

This is my go-to rhythm box for improvisational music making. Just enough features to provide what I need without being overwhelming. Really appreciate that I can create multiple patterns per kit and switch between them easily, either sequenced, or manually. You can also create polyrhythms, with each channel in a pattern having a different number of steps 👌🏼

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic but needs an update

*2025-06-30*

Absolutely love this app…the layout and functionality is unmatched. Quick to use with amazing results.

Please update with a deeper drum synth engine, more extensive midi mapping (solo per voice please!!!) User folder for voices *in app* without having to jump to import. Ability to send voices from presets into user storage for quicker access. So easy to jump sound to sound in classic, would be great to have that possibility for user sounds as well.

Brilliant app I use daily and would be elated with an update!!!

### 5/5 — Good app auv3 sequence mode could use fix though

*2025-06-16*

The app is very good in my opinion. The im thing I would recommend fixing in this app is when using it as an auv3 it starts playing in sequence mode on pattern 2 instead of pattern 1. If they fix it the app would be even better.

### 5/5 — Fantastic but needs an update

### 5/5 — Moonfish

*2025-02-04, version 1.2.2*

Where’s my Moonfish, Bram?

### 5/5 — A brilliant reimagining to a classic digital groovebox.

*2024-10-16*

As with other bram bos apps, the focus here is on simplicity and immediacy. It’s easy to get something good going, and simple to add complexity and variation to your drum patterns. The fader ui for stuff like decay and pitch unlocks the ability to add variation in seconds. Brilliant!

I’m now using this as my go-to drum module for my iOS music making in AUM!

My only wish is that it responded to gate when being sequenced via external midi messages (thru Drambo + AUM), so I could easily adjust note / hit length. Or maybe I’m missing something…

### 5/5 — BEST BEAT MACHINE OUT THERE

*2024-09-14*

I wouldn’t waste your time and galaxy credits on anything else if you’re looking for a straightforward linear sequencer that has enough options within enough parameters to make any fn around #bholebeats sound like serious #animalbeats … and if you’d rather it sound like playing a kit without elbows - all stiff and quantized like Bender Bending Rodriguez, then that’s in there too.
Arturia iSpark is pretty versatile as well, but it feels a lot more bulky and you can get similar results, but not as quickly in my experience. It kinda feels like they made their other drum apps obsolete with this.
plus - the fact that you can import your own audio samples for each slot should be a standard feature on all drumming apps, but since it’s not it makes this one that much better.
plus plus - if you don’t want to hassle with importing your own samples there are plenty included and the randomized generator is an endless supply of beat candy for your #babybeats.
