## What is Hamon?

Hamon gives DIY bladesmiths the correct heat-treat schedule for the exact steel and equipment they own.

Pick your steel, your quench, and your target hardness. Hamon lays out the whole schedule — austenitize temperature and soak time, the quench, optional cryo, and the temper passes — painted on a timeline that glows in the real colour of hot steel. Every number is sourced to Knife Steel Nerds and mill datasheets, so you can check the reference behind each step.

WHAT YOU GET
- The right numbers for your steel: austenitize, soak, quench, cryo, and temper, with the hardness (HRC) you should land on.
- Equipment honesty. Tell Hamon what you actually have — a forge, a kiln, dry ice, liquid nitrogen — and it tells you plainly when your gear cannot reach what your steel needs, before you ruin a blade.
