Forge Japanese swords the way the old smiths did: hammer glowing tamahagane steel, fold it, then paint the clay with your fingertip — the wave you draw becomes the hamon, the temper line. Watch the fading glow, and plunge the blade into water at just the right moment.

Fill orders from samurai and merchants, raise your rank from country smith to the lord's own swordsmith, and take on the lifetime goal: recreating all ten legendary blades of history, from Mikazuki Munechika to Masamune.

After the fire and the quench comes the polish. Work your blade across three whetstones, clearing the haze stroke by stroke, until the hamon you drew with your own finger rises out of mirror-bright steel.

Earn renown and carve your name into the tang. Attempt the legendary blades and get a real critique, showing you exactly where your line strayed.

Then hold your work up to the light, turn it full circle, and lay it to rest in the vault.
