This app is great for simple practice conversations and is overall pretty convenient. I’m giving four stars because it seems like no matter how well or poorly you do, it gives you good grades in all of the sections at the end of the conversation. It’s unclear what the grading criteria is… But the practice is good.

Olá,bem…se tivesse como aprender gratuitamente seria maravilhoso tirando o início onde a gente se apresenta o resto é tudo pago,se fosse de graça e um mais avançado pago seria mais fácil por que nem todo mundo tem 59,99 por mês e muito menos trezentos e poucos para ficar pagando todo ano em um aplicativo já que se a pessoa tive estaria procurando um profissional físico não um app para celulares

I haven’t used the app enough to rate it, but I did find a problem early on and the developer jumped right on it and got it fixed. A great sign!

A little thing. My first Japanese lesson ended with a suggestion for improved word ordering. But the rule it gave and the example it showed were opposite from each other. It’s not a great look for the first lesson.

App bom, porém com muitos bugs, demora demais pra iniciar uma lição, as vezes nem inicia, fica carregando a lição e não inicia. Mesmo sem você fazer a lição conta como se tivesse feito. Precisam melhorar muito.

I love everything about it. It thought me a lot in one day but I really hate how it cost a lot after one chat. Can you at least make it free for a month? And then start paying or some things are free and the rest cost money

The app itself has great potential. Some small tweaks needed for sure. Love the lessons as it really allows you to think and practice in a more genuine way but the pricing! $200 a year or $22 a month is pretty wild. Half that and I’d maybe consider but apps not worth that much right now.

Really it ask Money first the first level they will give you freely but the second level will cost you money so I am not download in this ever again because it is asking for Money dude why should I give money for learning so if you want to download this app make sure you have money to give them if you don’t want to give money to them then just don’t download this app because they ask Money.

I see a lot of comments talking about paywalls I get that OpenAI api isn’t free. But I never even got to try it out because it was stuck on “connecting” after a few minutes with no change I uninstalled

To do 99 percent of things on this app you have to pay 14.99 a month, which is insane. You basically can’t use it without paying. It’s a good app if you pay the money but for basically 15 dollars it’s not that good honestly

Hanashi is built to give you actual speaking practice — real back-and-forth conversations where you talk out loud and get corrected, in 11+ languages. That’s genuinely expensive for us to run on our end, which is why the full experience is behind a subscription.

That said, we offer a free trial so you can try everything before paying a cent, and we’re always working to make sure the value is there for people who do subscribe. If there’s something specific you felt should’ve been free, we’d love to hear it — it genuinely helps shape what we build next. Wishing you the best with your studies!

I was excited to use this app since I wanted to focus my practice on speaking and listening. But after 1 lesson it charges you. Everything is stuck behind the paywall and you don’t even get to test out the app fully to see if you really like it. The $15 monthly subscription is way too expensive. Paying isn’t the issue, the high price is.

We try to keep the price lower than a single tutoring session, while giving learners unlimited speaking practice anytime. That said, we know pricing is subjective and won’t feel right for everyone, and we genuinely appreciate you giving it a try.

first of all, i started off saying i new nothing, because im interested in learning japanese, and it didn’t even teach me what a word meant, it straight up just gives you japanese sentences to say without even teaching you what the WORDS are. 
second of all, you have to PAY to speak japanese to it, and 15$ a MONTH is CRAZY!!! i can literally learn it on duolingo for less than that. this app is horrible. i’ve learned nothing. i won’t be ever. don’t get it.

No trial and uses AI for your performance idea is great. But at $15 a month it’s a bit price gouging without giving you an idea of what you’re paying for. Also shady tactics of doing a couple of lessons before actually giving you the pricing

I recently downloaded this app and took 1 Spanish lesson. The next day i went on and tried to continue my daily streak, but it tried to make me pay after one session! Can there be an app where you don't have to pay?!
