## What is HanDa?

HanDa is your personal Korean tutor — powered by AI that talks back, corrects every sentence, and explains the grammar as you go.
Whether you're starting with Hangul or pushing toward fluency, HanDa turns daily practice into real conversations.

  WHY HANDA
  • Real conversations, not flashcards — chat or speak with four AI tutors, each with a distinct personality
  • Instant corrections — every message comes back with fixes, a grammar note, and natural alternatives
  • Hands-free voice mode — speak out loud and get corrected in real time, even with the screen off
  • Roleplay real situations — order food, change a reservation, handle an interview, and more
  • Pronunciation scoring — read aloud and get instant feedback

A REAL COURSE, LESSON BY LESSON
  • Course tab — Hangul, then Levels 1 to 5, following a structured textbook course
  • Every lesson brings vocabulary, grammar practice, listening, and speaking together
  • Grammar you use — build sentences with each pattern instead of just reading about it

  LEARN EVERY DAY
  • Today's Grammar, Words, Conjugation, Dictation & Pronunciation — fresh picks at your level
  • Listen & Learn — graded readings with audio
  • Grammar dictionary — look up any pattern or idiom
  • Pattern writing — compose your own sentences, AI-checked

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-13

• Studio: pick photos from your gallery and turn them into Korean lessons
• Smoother subscription screen and bug fixes

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-25

A quick speaking check during sign-up now sets your starting level, so your teacher talks to you at the right level from day one. Onboarding is now fully translated, and the app loads the latest version on first launch.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-14

• New Course tab: follow a structured Korean course lesson by lesson — Hangul, then Levels 1 to 5 — with vocabulary, grammar practice, listening and speaking in every lesson.
• Grammar you actually use: build sentences with each pattern instead of just reading about it.
• Simpler plans: one Premium plan, billed monthly or every 6 months. Both include a 7-day free trial.
• Faster audio: lesson and word audio now loads almost instantly after the first play.
• Voice conversations handle hard-to-hear replies better instead of repeating the same question.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-28

• Calendar access removed. HanDa no longer requests permission to read or write your calendar, and the permission is gone from the app entirely.
• Community: you can now join the HanDa Discord and link your account from the More tab, so your subscriber role is applied automatically.
• Removed unused code and tidied up copy across the app.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-10

• Hands-free voice conversations now keep going with your screen off or locked — great for practicing while driving, with a Stop control on your lock screen.
• Smarter automatic turn-taking in voice mode: it detects when you've finished speaking, even in a noisy car.
• Voice tutor replies now play through your car's Bluetooth speaker.
• Added 80 new TOPIK-style reading passages (levels 1–6) to Listen & Learn.
• Audio and stability improvements.
