I hope the developer continues to update it. The latest update has mucked up the colors terribly. Someone must be color blind. You’ve got white on light grey in the search field and blue on dark grey in other fields. It’s very poorly legible and I don’t understand the rational at all. It is great, simple to use, and has all the complex features for keeping track of everything you can imagine. Simply create your template, then add your data. I have never had a problem with the software, and have created over 20 databases, some with over 700 records. Easy to make and edit entries. Easy to design data entry screens. I’ve tried to find competitors that are available in both iOS and Windows, web or client based. Nothing as straightforward and functional as this. I love that the software is client-based, though, not web-based. I finally discovered how to backup HanDBase files to the iCloud: 1. tap on the three dots to the right of the file name. 2. tap on "Open in" 3. select (tap on) "HanDBase file" 4. scroll down to "save to files" 5. tap on "save to files" 6. the file name and destination are automatically selected; you can change them by tapping and editing. If needed, new folders can be added by tapping on the "+folder" icon. ### 3/5 — App crashes, no support *2022-03-21, version 4.9.084* Now that I have several databases with 500 records this app crashes every few minutes while using. I have paid for the app so it’s disappointing that requests for support go unanswered. I can no longer edit or create new database or do filter searches with it crashing. I have contacted the developer but they have ignored me. Won’t run on a desktop now. “iOS 3.1.2 or higher” !?Documentation is rubbish. No longer need a relational DB. Looking elsewhere. ### 1/5 — 2031 is the highest date you can enter! *2025-08-13, version 4.9.087* BEWARE! I discovered this bug luckily before 2031 so I have a while to find a replacement. The Dev says he has no interest in fixing it. ### 1/5 — Data loss *2025-02-16, version 4.9.086* I have repetedly lost data since an encrypted database got corrupted. Both database as well as desktop version are outdated and not maintained. It took the support 10 days to answer my urgent request and the reply was that this error is known but not understood, along with the cynical remark that if no recent backup exists this would be a goog lesson learned. But I also need to be able to update those databases and add new information, and now whenever you try to update an existing record, the app crashes and the info does not get saved. I emailed the company, but they couldn’t even be bothered to respond. ### 1/5 — Crashes constantly *2022-06-28, version 4.9.084* This app worked OK until I had more than approx 50 records in a db. Each db is pretty simple, an artist’s painting db, each record with minimal fields. When it approached 50 records it constantly crashes upon data entry, doesn’t save the data, and/or refuses to even open. I can’t even scroll through the records without it crashing. Bought the desktop app thinking at least I can still be productive if the phone app is crap. Nope, the desktop app is equally crap. Doesn’t do me much good to sync if it doesn’t carry over the actual photos of the paintings. A complete waste of money. Tried emailing the developer more than once and have never received a response. Bad coding, bad apps, and bad customer service. Tracking via Pages or Numbers would be more productive, more efficient, and less infuriating than using this abomination of an app. ### 1/5 — Problema no iOS 15 *2021-10-18, version 4.9.081* Aplicativo esta fechando ao tentar digitar a senha dentro do Password Keeper. ### 1/5 — Will not sync with desktop *2021-08-09, version 4.9.079* I have been using HanDBase for nearly 20 years, beginning on a Palm V - a little over a month ago, I upgraded my iPhone to a 2020 SE, and now I get the following message when I try to sync with the desktop: when I try to sync to HanDBase desktop, I get the following message: "Error: To Use this Feature You must Connect to a WiFi Network" I am connected to the same WiFi Network as my desktop! This is a known issue and I reported this issue to the developer on July 2. They keep saying they are working on a fix and offered to let me do beta testing but they haven’t come up with any fixes yet. Maybe giving them a poor review will light a fire under them - I am really frustrated with them!!! ### 1/5 — Keine Wifi Funktion mehr unter IOS 14.7 *2021-07-29, version 4.9.079* HanDBase bekommt man auf einem IPhone mit IOS 14.7 nicht mehr zum laufen. Eine Kopplung mit HanDBase Desktop ist nicht mehr möglich, da HanDBase for IPhone das WLAN nicht erkennt. Fehlermeldung: You must Connection to a WiFi Network. Die Fehlermeldung ist nicht korrekt, da ich im WLAN bin. Die Software ist seit 2018 nicht mehr angepasst worden. ich habe HanDBase schon auf dem Palm benutzt. I’ve been using it for years and I have over 80 databases. It is so useful that it has a coveted position as one of my four Home Screen dock apps. I use it to track my DVD collection, products I have purchased, movies I have watched, payments to various vendors, and many other lists.
