Sie ist auch wirklich gut, aber leider lässt sich die exportierte Pdf Datei nicht weiter bearbeiten, da es sich um ein Bild handelt. Das ist dann aber leider lediglich ein Foto, welches in das Pdf Format umgewandelt wurde. Für meine Bedürfnisse daher leider nicht nutzbar. Wert aber diese Funktion nicht braucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die App ist super flexibel um Datenbanken zu erstellen. ### 4/5 — Update June 2023 Needs Work *2023-06-25, version 4.9.84* I've used this product for years and like it, but it has some challenges, especially on the iPad mini. The newest update broke my most important form with some sort of dimension change. The title bar is very hard to read in light mode with blue on dark gray. Had to restore my iPad to go back to the prior version. ### 3/5 — Loose Ends *2021-11-14, version 4.9.078* I’ve been a HanDBase user in the past and recently had a need for a database on my iPad. So I went back to HanDBase, paid the fee, downloaded the app and got to work. Having entered a small but significant amount of data, I decided to test out how HanDBase could be used to back up this data and thus protect me from future data loss. Unfortunately, the Desktop Connect feature that I used to use on the HanDBase version on my iPhone doesn’t seem to work on the iPad version of the app. I went to ddhsoftware’s support site but couldn’t find help there. I also noted that the support site seems quite outdated (meaning the content, not the form). This leads me to ask the following question: Is HanDBase for iPad being actively supported? ### 3/5 — Update? *2019-12-16, version 4.9.078* I noticed that it has been a year since the last time anything has been done with the app by the developer. A lot of things have advanced since that short time ago. Is there any chance that there will be a Major update to the HanDBase app? I use this application quite a lot, and every time I open the app l am reminded of Windows 95 or maybe the version just after dos 3. I would give 5 stars if I could synch my iPhone records with my iPad more easily. ### 1/5 — Not worth the effort *2016-10-01, version 4.9.073* This app has a lot of potential, but it's honestly not worth the effort to set up. The developers don't really seem to "get" iOS app design. For example, when creating a database, there are 100 possible fields in a database, which are presented in a list. This list cannot be reordered, so if you need to add a field between the current field 3 and field 4 in a list of 20 fields, you'd have to change every field from 4-21, instead of adding one field and just moving it to the position you want it to be. Another example: when entering data in an integer-only field, the app doesn't bring up the numeric keyboard, so there are extra key presses required every time just to bring up the number keys. It may be a good database, but the interface is so bad I never really got to the point that I'd be willing to use it. ### 1/5 — Limited capabilities *2016-09-01, version 4.9.071* I have been using this for a while. Save your $10... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Does Not Work on iPadOS 15 — Why Is This Still in the App Store??? *2023-02-08, version 4.9.078* I’ve used this app on my various iPads for years but when I bought an iPad Pro last year, and restored my apps to it, I discovered that this app cannot be synced with a Mac because it does not ask to access the local network, so it says there’s no Wi-Fi. The iPhone version works but the “zoomed” interface is terrible. ### 1/5 — This used to good. *2022-03-25, version 4.9.078* There is no way to save on newer iPad. It says that it is a relational database that can be created on the ipad, as far as I can see it can’t. You can create a db but not the relational part. The help system seems to bear little relationship to the application, for instance the field roster is completely different. I even bought the forms version thinking that this would solve the problem, it did not. Unfortunately I did not read the most recent review which is three years old. How is that not possible in 2021. If I would have known I wouldn’t have purchased the software. The software is worthless to me. I said I wanted to speak to someone about how Apple chooses the developers who can sell apps on the app store. I said it is unfair that people pay good money for apps that are bug ridden. The guy hung up on me and I was not being rude. ORIGINAL POST What a waste of money. It seems every time there is an app update handbase crashes when you try to select a database. 3 times I have lost my information and had to redo everything. I contacted the developer and they are non-responsive. This developer should be pulled off the App Store. Apple is no help either. Recently had a problem with crashes that rendered all my data on the iPad totally inaccessible. Fortunately was able to transfer data to my iPhone. Otherwise I would have lost years and years of accumulated data. Still trying to get the app operational on the iPad again but email support response in almost nonexistent. Think of a database App you want, buy the forms add-on, then enjoy the fun of creating your own app. BTW you can download Apps for free that others have created and kindly shared. Why is this App not the top App on the App Store?? I think it is because those of us who found it spend more time using it than writing reviews, and the App itself does not pop up every two minutes begging for a review!! A large, relational database is likely to use a large share of the iPad's memory. I've been using HanDBase for years, originally on my Palm. It's the only fully relational database app I've found for iOS and they've really worked hard to make it work well with the iPad's UI. An important feature of any app, for me, is that the data isn't locked up in it. HanDBase can export and share data (pdf or csv formats) with other apps and other iOS devices. The ability to share databases with a team and automatically send updates to them is also a massive enhancement ✅. It's well worth the in-app purchase to get the custom forms designer. Note, you don't need to purchase the PC sync manager to be able to sync databases you copy over from the desktop version. ### 5/5 — Very useful app with excellent tech-support *2015-01-20, version 4.9.063* Purchased this app so that I could keep some daily records for my business in a much more organized manner. This app allowed me to do just that. The database was easy to set up, and the forms at that I bought along with it let me to create a form that was easy to use. I also purchased a copy of the application to use on the PC so that I could keep the record synchronized and use the database either on my mobile device or my PC. I did have some problems with the synchronization between the phone and the PC. I contacted tech support and they were extremely responsive and very helpful.
