## What is Handover?

Most focus apps feel like a strict boss standing over your shoulder. Handover is different. It doesn't lock your phone and throw away the key. It adds a small, deliberate cost to your biggest distractions.

You are always in control. If you really need to get into an app, you can. It just costs you a bit of the streak you have been building. That one shift changes why you reach for your phone in the first place.

SETTING UP A RULE TAKES FOUR CHOICES

Choose what to block. Specific apps, or whole categories at once.

Choose how to block. A total daily limit, a session length, or block them outright.

Choose when it runs. On a schedule, when you arrive somewhere, or after a burst of heavy phone use.

Choose your way back in. Earn it with a set number of steps, with quick reps the phone counts for you, by scanning a barcode you keep somewhere out of reach, with a breathing break, or with a short meditation.

A daily budget is now spent in five minute blocks. Press Start and you have five minutes. When they are up the shield comes back and asks whether you want to keep going; answering it buys the next block. If you have already put the phone down and nobody answers, only a minute is charged, and a shield you close without going in costs nothing at all.

Time left is shown in whole minutes rather than seconds, because minutes are the precision the figure actually has.

When your Welcome Week ends, your Budget and Hard rules keep working, up to five of them. A rule built on a barcode, a place, an activity or timed sittings is paused rather than switched off: it keeps its apps and its settings, and Plus starts it again exactly as it was. A paused rule does not use one of the five free slots.

Squats are now free on every plan, in Recharge & Earn and as a way back into a blocked app.

A day that ends without Break Glass earns 100 credits.

Every popup closes with a swipe down.
