### 1/5 — Not working with current iOS

*2022-11-20*

I was happy with the app until the iOS 16.1.1 update. Scans leave out big sections now! Very disappointing. Please update.

**Developer response:** Sorry, we will fix this bug as soon as possible.

### 1/5 — No way to delete old files

*2022-04-22*

Once a document is selected, there is no way change or delete it. No way to delete older files. Cannot add a new file because you cannot get out of the file selected once it is on screen. No “how to” help.

### 1/5 — Not working with current version of iOS

*2019-10-03*

Not working with iOS 13

**Developer response:** Please update the App to the new version(2.0.1).

### 1/5 — I can’t get this app to work

*2018-07-15*

I tried to get it to access my photos to read the document that I took photos of.

Initially it asked to access my photos. I thought I would have the option to attach a document, but didn’t, so I then opted to take photos. After that I clicked the app’s photo icon (not camera) to access my photos, but it didn’t. The screen just sort of kept opening and closing when I clicked on the icon.

I can’t find any instructions or contact information within the app, so I’m hoping the developer can leave instructions here. I really need to have a document recognized, as the handwriting is hard for me to make out.

Any help appreciated. I like the concept, just can’t get it to work.

### 1/5 — Doesn't really work and no support

*2018-06-11*

When I try to OCR a pre-existing photo of handwriting the app simply doesn't do anything. Nothing happens. (But when I use the camera to take a photo while in the app it does work and gives an okay OCR'd result/interpretation.) When I tried to contact support via the support link in the app store it just takes me to a generic page on Github - so it looks like Apple doesn't bother validate the developer contact info.

### 3/5 — Works fine but… no delete?

*2022-03-12*

The app performs as advertised but once the documents have been OCR’d, there does not seem to be any way to delete them if needed…

### 3/5 — Not what I expected

*2019-08-18*

This app doesn’t convert handwritten text with a pen like I expected. It converts images to text. These can be taken or chosen from a photo library when the correct settings are selected. It seems to work better with photo with typed text better than handwriting. This app doesn’t meet my needs.

### 4/5 — Good and fast

*2020-08-29*

This application is among the best of the handwriting OCR apps and it’s also very fast compared to many of the others. Finally, it stores the results for you. I tried a few apps which want to charge you money every week and I did not find them to be any better than this.

A word of warning, with any of these apps, there’s no substitute for writing legibly. Also, it seems to be a general rule that cursive is not recognized as consistently as printed text, but it does recognize it.

### 4/5 — Not bad - photo library access doesn’t work

*2020-02-18*

The quality of the handwriting recognition is impressive- not perfect but pretty good. The connection to photos is now working quite nicely.

### 4/5 — 60% accurate

*2019-10-20*

Been trying out different handwriting ocr this morning, and this one is so far the best. The upload is simple, the text for a B6 page of notes took only a few seconds. My handwriting is pretty bad and I could still roughly make sense what was written from the conversed version.
Hope the developer will continue to upgrade!

### 5/5 — A Hidden Gem

*2020-04-12*

Wasted time testing “free” apps with in-purchase features blocked ability to fully test the app. Turned those features were all here for just $0.99. This app works fast, and read my handwriting better than I could read my own handwriting. I converted 35 pages of handwritten notes in minutes compared to hours wasted on other “free” apps.

**Developer response:** Thanks very much!

### 5/5 — Yes, you want this app.

*2019-10-20*

If you’re looking for a handwriting-to-text app, you’ve found it. This app is solving so many issues in my life. I have tiny, horrible, cursive writing (and oodles of notes). This app reads over 90% of it. When I think to write nicely, this app is spot on. I send text straight to OneNote (lots of options), edit briefly, and I’m set.

### 5/5 — Works on iOS 13

*2019-10-17*

Love love love love!!!

**Developer response:** Please update the App to the new version(2.0.1).

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2019-07-03*

At first I was skeptical, but after using it, I was amazed. It was even able to detect my weak hand writing in the matter of seconds. Really great buy!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-12-20*

This works better than an app I paid 4.99 for grammar and punctuation corrections.

### 5/5 — Works very well

*2017-11-29*

The only photo handwriting to text app I found that works ...
I tested this app on more than a few photos of my handwriting and it translates remarkably accurate - near 100%. The only missed words or letters were the few poorly written ones.

I would recommend the following improvements:
- ability to rotate and crop a photo.
- the ability to deselect words or lines from the OCR.
- the ability to import multiple photos and OCR in one step.
- refine the OCR to recognize dashes in front of sentences for bulleted lists.

### 4/5 — Impressive if not great

*2019-07-25*

Totally worth $0.99! The other reviewers are correct about bugs with the photo library and there being no easy way to share the text BUT I use reporter’s notebooks to take notes and my handwriting is not good. This app recognized the text even when the writing went across the lines on the page. The thing is you have to copy and paste the text. It’s not super convenient and may not win any design awards for usability but it’s worth more than $0.99 to be able to take my penciled scratchings that even I have trouble reading sometimes and get usable text. I had to give it 4 stars just because the competition is just horrible. The only thing that comes close requires you to do in-app purchases AND did not recognize the text as well as this one. Great purchase.
