### 3/5 — Great for Beginners

*2022-05-26, version 1.6.2*

This app is good for beginners just starting to learn Hangul however, it’s missing consonant vowel combinations for complex vowels (diphthongs), which is kind of a big omission, and the paid version only comes with a couple of examples for each Hangeul letter or letter combination. Because Korean has so many sound changes it would be better to provide more examples so an intermediate learner could create complex syllables and explore how Korean sound change rules apply at the level of both syllables and words.

### 3/5 — Cannot reach support

*2021-05-30, version 1.6.2*

Some syllables are missing

### 3/5 — Ehh ok

*2020-07-24*

So apparently, hearing the sounds of the syllables is off limits. The quizzes are ok, but they glitch and say you got it wrong when it was right, not to mention you only have a limited amount you can be quizzed on, because the rest you have to pay for. It’s not horrible, but it’s not the best.

### 4/5 — Basics

*2020-07-16, version 1.6.2*

Helps with learning basics, keyboard is great.

### 2/5 — Does it even work?

*2018-02-06, version 1.6.2*

I’m trying to figure out how to enable the sound. I’ve tried many times and it won’t work. Help!!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2017-06-05, version 1.6.2*

Love it, simple, easy to use and effective!

### 5/5 — Smart learning

*2017-05-09*

I love this app..

### 2/5 — Eh

*2017-04-19, version 1.6.2*

It's okay I guess

### 2/5 — wish it was better

*2017-03-13, version 1.6.2*

Had high hopes for this app to help me with my learning, unfortunately it kept freezing and one of the voices was far too creepy for my liking.

### 3/5 — Give it a try.

*2017-03-11*

It's not the best, but it did help me with memorizing how the letters are written. Give it a try, maybe it will work for you.

### 3/5 — Good Overall

*2017-02-28, version 1.6.2*

Initially it took a little bit of figuring out. I'm absolutely a newbie with Korean so it was a bit confusing. The app is functional but little care to detail is pretty obvious. Black and white, no colour, boring af, no fun, or addiction factor as with my other language apps and not even a part for basic grammar or vocabulary. That being said, the quizzes with letters and basic syllables keep me familiarised and the Hangeul cogs turning. Definitely worth the few $$ to get it ad-free and syllable quizzes with the in-app purchase. Would recommend to beginners to get started but don't expect the best.

FYI: it's not developed yet, but Duolingo will smash it with a Korean version sooner or later.

Thanks folks! :)

### 5/5 — Incredibly useful

*2017-02-22, version 1.6.2*

I'm learning Hangeul really quickly and when used alongside other Korean language apps it's useful to refer back to to learn vocabulary - a brilliant app in my opinion

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2016-12-29, version 1.6.2*

안녕하세요! I would like to say thank you to the makers of this app, it has truly helped me learn the Hangul alphabet really quickly, and I've mastered most of it.

The app allows you to hear the letters' pronunciation and even gives examples which are handy to remember. For someone like me who is learning from scratch, I love this app and I hope other's get to have the experience that I have!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bruh

*2023-02-07, version 1.6.2*

You have to pay for like 1 more quiz. BRUH

### 1/5 — Used to be a good app but not anymore

*2021-04-21, version 1.6.2*

I used the app a few years ago to practing my korean sentence structure and all of that. I deleted it once I felt confident. Needless to say I was very disappointed when I downloaded it again only to realize that nothing works. You can't open any of the practice lessons. It's a major glitch that is horribly affecting a really good app. Don't waste your time downloading it.

### 1/5 — App Freezes

*2018-10-27*

Freezes after 1-2 samples

### 1/5 — just a bad way to learn korean

*2017-05-04*

there's so many things wrong with this app. one: you can't hear the pronunciations properly because the computers voice is weird. two: you have to pay for basically everything on the stupid app. and three: having the romanized version of the korean word doesn't help with learning. it just makes it more difficult to learn hangul.

### 1/5 — Fix bug

*2017-03-26*

I'm only giving one star because the quizzes results are wrong. Even the answers I wrote were correct, it still shows that it was wrong. I wish I could send a screen shot.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2017-02-16, version 1.6.2*

Everything is frozen and it wont work

### 1/5 — Examples are wrong.

*2016-10-22*

This app tries to help you learn pronunciation by giving an example of an English word that makes the sound of the Korean vowel. Every single word doesn't sound anything like the audio of the Korean vowel. For example, the Korean vowel that's a vertical line. The audio makes an 'ee' sound, like eel. The English approximation given is 'fish'. No native English speaker, American or British, says 'feesh'. I can't trust this app to get anything right if the one thing I can judge without knowing any Korean is wrong. I don't even know whether the audio or the English word is wrong, just that one of them is. I will definitely not be using this to study. I would probably learn things wrong.

### 1/5 — BRUH

*2016-06-23, version 1.6.2*

The buttons aren't working

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2016-02-21, version 1.6*

Have to buy to hear pronunciation which isn't worth it.

### 1/5 — Not even the best app

*2015-10-26, version 1.6*

Not even the best app and they want me to pay $9.99 for this. Lol

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2025-09-01*

I downloaded it about two weeks ago and it’s helped me learn hanguel a lot better! I already knew a small amount because I’ve been using duo but still almost a beginner. It has a test mode which I use often but you can also go through the slides of all the letters with the pronunciation, and what English letter it sounds like, and it even gives you examples of words with this letter. My average is 6/10 letters correct but the other day I got to 8/10 and I’m so happy to be seeing improvement. I have nothing bad to say about this app. It does only teach the Korean alphabet so not the most helpful for learning the language but it’s definitely great just for learning the alphabet.
