## What is Hanmadi?

Hanmadi is a drill for Korean vocabulary. It shows one word at a time. You say whether you remembered it, and spaced repetition decides when you see it again.

WHAT IS INSIDE

- All 5,965 words of the Korean Learners Vocabulary List published by the National Institute of the Korean Language, sorted into Beginner (982), Intermediate (2,111) and Advanced (2,872)
- An English meaning for almost every word, and the part of speech for every word
- The hanja for the 3,262 words that have one, shown on the back of the card
- A Listen button that reads the word aloud with the Korean voice on your device
- Spaced repetition with six boxes; words you miss come back in the same session
- Progress by level, and a day count you are free to ignore

DATA

The word list, the part of speech and the grade come from the Korean Learners Vocabulary List (한국어 학습용 어휘 목록), published in 2003 by the National Institute of the Korean Language, used under the Korea Open Government Licence Type 1. English meanings and some hanja come from kengdic by Joe Speigle, used under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. The grades are those of the 2003 list, not TOPIK levels, and this app is not affiliated with or endorsed by the organisers of the TOPIK.
