full screen ads with sound play after a quiz or anytime you navigate away to a different app and then come back no matter when the previous ad just played, makes it difficult to actually use as a learning tool, definitely find a different app

The first thing after opening the app and selecting option not to login, there is a full screen popup with tracking consents (I clicked app not to track when first opening) and then there are personalized advertisements that I already did not agree to. App unusable. 

I didn’t even have a chance to get to know the app and use it for a while because of that tracking ads system. 

My data are not for sale

Avoid this app – potential scam! I tried purchasing the premium upgrade, but the app returned a server error while still charging me through iTunes. Despite being charged, I wasn’t granted premium access. Restoring the purchase didn’t work, so I tried again, only to be charged again with the same result. I contacted Apple support, but they refused a refund. This app took around $30 from me without delivering the promised premium features. I have tried reaching out to the developer but have received no response. Beware of this fraudulent behavior!”

### 1/5 — New app version doesn't work for me anymore and I lost all progress

I used this app for 4 months on versions 3.23 and 3.24, and it was really useful for preparing for the HSK exam. After updating to version 3.26.3, it stopped working on my iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 16.4.1, getting stuck on the loading screen. I waited for 3 weeks, continuously deleted and reinstalled the app, saving my data, and updated all available versions, hoping this issue would be fixed. Finally, I spent 2 hours to update to iOS 16.7.10, but the app still doesn't work and remains stuck on the loading screen. With great regret, I fully deleted the app, losing all my data and progress. After downloading the app again, I saw the same result—it still gets stuck on the loading screen. Now I have to find a new app for studying words. I'm very disappointed and upset 😔

มีคำศัพท์ครบถ้วนทั้งแบบเก่าแบบใหม่ แต่ความหมายจะงงๆเพราะเป็นการแปลความหมายอัตโนมัติจากภาษาอังกฤษ บางคำต้องไปเช็คความหมายเพิ่มอีกที
/มีแบบทดสอบให้เขียนตัวอักษรกับหาความหมายให้ถูกต้อง ปนๆกันแบบสุ่มๆ เลือกแบบใดแบบหนึ่งไม่ได้ ชอบตรงที่คำศัพท์มันจะสุ่มมา ไม่ได้เรียงตามตัวอักษร
/ข้อเสียคือคำศัพท์ที่เรียนเพิ่มได้ต่อวันจำกัด ไม่เหมาะกับคนรีบ(แบบเรา)
/ตัวอักษรเล็กมาก อยากให้ตอนทำแบบทดสอบ ใช้ UI เหมือนตอนเรียนรู้ศัพท์ คือมาแค่ตัวจีนตัวใหญ่ๆ พลิกดูพินอินกับความหมายเอา น่าจะดีกับการจำความหมายมากกว่าตอนนี้
/เหมือนจะมีหลายฟังก์ชั่น แต่งงๆเพราะเปิดแล้วก็ไม่ต่างอะไรกับปิด เหใือนฟังก์ชั่นบางอย่างใช้งานไม่ได้ทั้งที่จ่ายเงินแล้ว
/จ่ายเงินแล้วระบบสนทนากับ เไ ก็ใช้งานไม่ได้ แต่ก็สะดวกดีเพราะไม่มีโฆษณาให้เสียเวลารอเลย เอาว่าภาพรวมแนะนำสำหรับคนอยากท่องศัพท์แบบไม่รีบค่ะ

No need to find another app.

My first review on AppStore. If the developer is reading this, you’ve done a great job. Your app is genuinely helpful, acts like a dictionary and also provides stroke order. It also gives us a sentence based example for better understanding. Just don’t become like other apps: hungry for money.

It is so good. I think you can update one example for one word so that we can know how we can use it and remember easily. About the noun, you can add a picture for reminder. Besides, why this app just has got the “write” for the word with 1 character?

Of all the HSK flashcard apps I’ve tried, this is probably the better ones in terms of the learning experience mechanics.

Unfortunately what holds the app back is the way the code was written. It does not save where you are if the app is forced to close due to low memory, for example. So you cannot make it review 200 cards a day and just use it at your leisure because just running Safari will cause it to reset your progress. Another example is that the sound playback is dependent on an internet connection, which you won’t have on many plane flights and high speed rail trips when you’re in the tunnels.

I will still give it a 4/5 to be generous, and also because the other apps I’ve tried have even worse bugs and poor programming, but it’s still leagues ahead of Duolingo as far as cramming all the glue vocabulary you need to get ahead in actual life and conversation.
