It’s can just import logs from the device, can’t be used to monitor test statuses when in tutorial mode.. I mean.. seriously. It’s state is reset each time it’s backgrounded and disconnected from the device. What a waste. **Developer response:** Hello, We have just made some updates that should resolve these issues. It has worked well although it is always been finicky connecting to the probe via the app. Sometimes it would connect automatically, other times I would have to reestablish the connection manually. Now I can’t get it to connect at all which means I can’t measure pH in my brewery. ### 1/5 — Probe Broken *2015-10-12* Was looking forward to using this tool. Paired pH sensor with app and app reported temp sensor was broken, and the pH of my 4.0 buffer solution read 16. Packing unit up and sending it back. Bummer ### 1/5 — Hanna can't be serious.. *2014-12-23* I have been wanting to try this app for a very long time, as the HALO probe and this app could be extremely useful in my business, however the notes system is horrible!! Being able to enter relevant information about my samples is what makes this useful, but I get like 2 seconds to hit a tiny little button at the top of the display so I can enter 14 characters.. what!!! Honestly infuriating. There ought to be tags like twitter for sorting in addition to a notes section where I can enter other relevant information and maybe even snap a picture! Might even be cool to incorporate the camera throughout for certain lab work, live video feed with ph displayed! I don't think loading a picture should be an option, only in app pictures. ### 3/5 — It’s ok *2026-06-10* There is a lot of bugs in app. I have the marine master and that software is also buggy. In Hanna lab if you choose measure pick any test after hit send to device it says not available in this mode, lol. The marine master itself a lot of tests very wrong. Example HI 774 says shake bottle till dissolved. This is supposed to be shake bottle for 2 minutes. I sent a lot of info to Hanna. Let’s see if they fix it. **Developer response:** Thank you for you feedback, can you please expand on the info you have sent to Hanna so we can make sure we have the details. We reviewed the tutorial for the HI774 and there is a slight difference but its mainly due to the space on the screen. The tutorial is meant to be a guide and not intended to replace the user manual. ### 4/5 — Joe *2026-05-15* Downloaded latest firmware and now cannot connect to device **Developer response:** Are you able to see if this is fixe din 4.3.3. If not, please provide your OS version so we can check this directly. ### 4/5 — Does a good job, both the app and device could do a little better. *2024-09-23* It does what it needs to, and a good job at that. BUT my only recommendation would be to add the timers during testing into the app, as well as adding timers in the photometer for all timed steps, such as the 30 second shaking for magnesium. If you have a 3 minute timer for waiting at the end of the magnesium test, you can do 30 seconds to time you shaking the reagent. ### 4/5 — Does all I want it too *2021-11-01* Great app with all the functions I need, I would update to five stars if they add a dark mode so I can save battery. ### 4/5 — Solid app, great support *2017-11-02* I’ve been using the app for about a year and it’s remarkable! Calibration is quick and I find it easy to read. I do wish that there were a few more customization options regarding data logging and calibration slope display. ## Most praised reviews (1 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — An amazing app with an amazing probe... *2015-12-09* I have had my Foodcare Halo since they released it, and I have nothing but positive things to say...(to the guy 1 staring this - dude, you don't have to give the app a 1 star because you received a damaged meter. It was most likely UPS, so before you go giving terrible reviews why don't you call the service center. They have been very helpful to me, especially when I broke my first electrode they sent a replacement free of charge). It is an accurate meter, affordable, and the app for my iPad mini runs very smooth. I love that it stays accurate over many uses. I mean, the ability to save calibration is very nice. I've also done data logging with the app, and it is awesome to be able to download the data points to a csv file and create a curve in Excel. It's a jaw dropper in the kitchen when I get the Bluetooth meter out and link it to my iPad. It's awesome to get such a response to the equipment!
