Mobil banking with HFCU is terrible. Their customer service is terrible. Don’t do it! The whole system is not friendly if you are hoping for a smooth mobil banking option. ### 1/5 — Doesn't register iPhone 14 pro max device - need an OTP constantly *2022-10-12, version 16.1.5715* I have used this app for years. It's always been a bit old fashioned and sloppy but it usually works. It works as it should on my older iPhone XS max but on my new iPhone 14 Pro Max it continuously forces me to get a secure access code (OTP) every single time I log in even though Face ID is working and I have selected register this device about 100 times and I deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times in the last two weeks and I have run every software update Apple has issued. This HFCU app hasn't been updated in 8 months. That alone is reason to be concerned - one can only imagine all the security updates that they haven't issued... I have reached out to the credit union and all I get is lip service. They clearly don't care. They have no intention of actually fixing their app bug. If you have the latest iPhone do yourself a favor and skip this app. It's so annoying every time I log in SECURE ACCESS CODE then REGISTER DEVICE, lather rinse repeat. It's so annoying. They verified me but still can’t seem to get their IT people to cooperate. This is the most basic function of a banking app. Garbage. ### 2/5 — Great app but constantly down *2021-03-11, version 14.0.5619* I swear every other day this app is down for “maintenance” and there’s literally no good reason. What if there were an emergency and I needed to use the app during these down times? Not only that but they schedule these times in the morning or at night so you could get screwed because they constantly tool with the app. Stop changing things and cutting off our access to our money during times we need it. Whoever designed this site has absolutely no clue of usability testing and the credit union approved this ????!!!! It tells me loud and clear that either they do not care about members or they are incompetent. I have repeatedly suggested revising the application since it was released some moths ago with just the standard customer service apologies but with complete inaction. ### 1/5 — Performance Login Slow *2026-04-28, version 4020.0.1* Nice design but I have an issue every time I open this app, the login page takes over 10 seconds to complete before I can fill in the authentication. Better to use HFCU on the website than this until this issue is fixed. It was supposed to be an upgrade , but so many of the management features were removed or replaced with hard coded options that I find the app pretty useless at this point. There has been a huge emphasis on Wealth counseling and this app seems to reflect this shift away from just banking. Perhaps they were trying to make a 1-stop mobile app for all yours financial accounts (HFCU and other ‘external’ accounts) and possibly in a rush to get it out sacrificed usability and financial management. In any case, when it comes to managing my finances, I want an app focuses on what I am using the CU for. I’ll rely on the other financial services I use to do the same. I don’t want a central service doing it all, and certainly not HFCU if this app is an indicator of how well they understand my needs and the importance of satisfying them. ### 1/5 — Platform switch *2026-03-28, version 4020.0.1* This is horrible- switch platform - new one does not recognize mobile or pc- have been waiting to speak to someone for 45 minutes to get access to my account ### 1/5 — No Update notification! *2026-03-28, version 4020.0.1* On Tuesday much to my surprise I couldn’t log into the app. Both my husband and I tried. It said wrong username/PW…they weren’t wrong. Then we were prompted to create a new password. Still couldn’t log into. Checked my phone for an update…no, no update. Finally at the end of the day I uninstalled the app and then and only then it reinstalled the updated app. Do better Hanscom!
