J utilise cette application sur une tablette Ipad. L application saute plusieurs fois par jour, il faut la re installer à chaque fois. Très contraignant.

Très bonne appli pour ceux qui étudient le chinois, malheureusement il faut la réinstaller plusieurs fois par jour car elle finit toujours par planter lorsqu’on la laisse en arrière plan et ne veut plus redémarrer. De même si on l’arrête, elle ne redémarre plus. Il faut la supprimer de l’iPhone et la réinstaller. Heureusement les données sont sauvegardées sur iCloud. 5 étoiles sinon.

Every time I try opening the app it will close immediately. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still doesn’t work.

Following your comment, we have tried your recommended app which is a nice and fun learning app. But let's be honest, this can't be used as a dictionary at all. HanYou is a Chinese dictionary, as specified in the title, not another random colourful game-based learning app. Maybe this does not bring enough fun for you, ok, but please refrain from misleading other users. Of course, we are aware HanYou is not perfect and we are working hard to improve it. Today we have just released a new update  which improves the overall app. And we will continue to add more features in the following updates.

You can get all of the features of this app in other apps that won’t cost you. A review from two years ago complains about how the translator won’t accurately translate sentences, and the developers even responded and said they were going to get it fixed. It’s been two years and the translator still does not work. Pleco is a much better dictionary and just about every function of this app has a better, free counterpart. Even the camera translator that is its supposed claim to fame is worse than Wechat’s camera translator. Final thought: don’t waste your money like I did on this mediocre app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed review. We understand that you can find free equivalent of some features. But here we are providing an overall offline Chinese dictionary app which delivers all of them in one place. For instance the dictionary displays severals sources, such as CEDict, Wikidata and Wordnet. The only other dictionary app on par with HanYou is Pleco, which is definitely a great dictionary, but the basic dictionary database of Pleco's free version just shows you the CEDict definitions, and you have to pay more than the whole HanYou Pro version price to unlock any single interesting feature. And still,  HanYou has some unique features, such as the text analyzer or the possibility to add pinyin in Safari. Also, we have recently added a translator model for translating whole Chinese sentences, still without requiring an internet connection. Regarding the camera translator, we didn't claim to fame anywhere. Text detection and recognition is a really hard task. We've taken years to build our algorithms but they aren't flawless of course. You can always try to build you own text recognition algorithm then you will certainly change your opinion,

Cette Appli peut accéder à vos photos sans votre autorisation !
Ceci constitue une anomalie côté appli mais aussi côté iOS 11. Car cette appli n’apparaît même pas dans la liste de la rubrique « confidentiel » ayant demandé l’accès aux photos.

**Developer response:** HanYou n'a accès qu'à la photo que vous sélectionnez. Dans ce cas, c'est normal que l'autorisation ne soit pas demandée. Les autres applications (de messagerie par exemple) fonctionnent de la meme manière. Merci.

This app is completely useless for one with no knowledge of Chinese characters trying to interpret a string of characters.  I've not been able to get it to translate anything correctly, even a string of characters for which I know the translation.

This app is not worth the money. I thought the concept of using your camera would be great. First try though it kept giving multiple options over and over for the same writing. No specific translation. Now it doesn't give any translation with the camera and the hand written translation (you draw it in) gave a completely different translation from another app I have. The other app was free and it works better.

I’m a student and I’ve been struggling trying to learn Chinese while studying other classes. Quite honestly the best app I’ve ever used and it does crash but barely and it found every character I needed to find. I will be buying the unlimited and I believe you should too. The one time fee is definitely worth and helping the developers for their great work.

This is the best dictionary I use and am glad it can split screen. But one thing for sure, there are a few more words that doesn’t have a English dictionary meaning for it. And can we get the translator improved too? I’d pay for the one-time premium package to help and support you ;w;

I don’t use all the features of HanYou, but those I do use are a massive help in my homework and revision study for Mandarin. Especially the character recognition through the camera and the drawing pad. The dictionary is comprehensive and the handwriting stroke order information can all be found very easily from the character recognition.

I’d definitely recommend to have this this app on your phone if you’re studying Mandarin!

コピーするかshareにこのアプリを登録することで素早く文章中の単語引きが出来ます。(注: 日本語訳もありますが基本は英訳です)
こちらは文章にピンインをつけて読み上げしてくれるので初級者には有難いです。翻訳機能も付いています。単語引きをすると例文のところでその単語の使われているニュース記事の一部をピンイン付きで(たぶんSiriを使って)読み上げてくれます。
私はまだ学習初期なので使いこなせていませんが、中級以上のある程度文章が読める方なら有効活用できるんじゃないかと思います。
単語登録もタグで管理できるようなので、工夫次第で学習効率を上げられそうです。

Hope the devs see this, but the app crashes on my phone as soon as it launches and begins trying to process characters. If I cover the camera and switch to another mode, then it turns out ok, but since I got this app specifically for the camera mode this is a bit of a dealbreaker. Not sure if it’s just my device but hope it gets resolved soon! Otherwise great app.

Edit: The developers have been extremely helpful in trying to track down the issues, best experience I’ve ever had with an app dev. Updating the rating as they find the problem, and in the meantime still good to use the image upload vs live camera recognition!

My only complaint is that the text analyzer glitches once you go past a certain number of lines/characters. Same problem with Yomiwa. Please fix, otherwise great!
